< Hosea 13 >
1 “When Ephraim speaks tremblingly, He has been lifted up in Israel, When he becomes guilty in Ba‘al he dies.
Ephraim tah rhihnah neh cal tih anih te Israel khuiah a pomsang. Tedae Baal rhangneh a boe dongah ni a duek.
2 And now they sin, And make for themselves a molten image of their silver, By their own understanding—idols, A work of artisans—all of it, Of them they say, who [are] sacrificers among men, The calves let them kiss.
Tedae tholh te a koei uh coeng dongah amamih ham amamih kah cak te a lungcuei tarhing ah mueihloe la a saii uh. Te boeih te kutthai rhoek kah kutci muei mai. Te te amih loh, “Aka nawn hlang loh vaitoca te mok uh,” a ti uh.
3 Therefore they are as a cloud of the morning, And as dew, rising early, going away, As chaff tossed about out of a floor, And as smoke out of a window.
Te dongah mincang cingmai bangla, thoh hang neh aka hma buemtui bangla, cangtilhmuen lamkah aka thikthuek cangkik bangla, bangbuet lamkah hmaikhu bangla om uh ni.
4 And I [am] your God YHWH from the land of Egypt, And you do not know a God besides Me, And a Savior—there is none except Me.
Tedae Egypt khohmuen lamkah pataeng na Pathen tah Yahweh kamah ni. Kai phoeiah pathen a tloe na ming noek moenih kai mueh ah khangkung khaw a om moenih.
5 I have known you in a wilderness, In a land of droughts.
Rhamling khohmuen kah khosoek ah pataeng kai loh nang kan ming coeng.
6 They are satiated according to their feedings, They have been satiated, And their heart is lifted up, Therefore they have forgotten Me,
Amih kah rhamtlim neh hah la hah uh tih a lungbuei a pomsang. Te dongah ni kai n'hnilh uh.
7 And I am to them as a lion, I look out as a leopard by the way.
Te dongah amih soah sathuengca bangla ka om vetih kaihlaeng bangla longpuei ah ka mae ni.
8 I meet them as a bereaved bear, And I tear the enclosure of their heart, And I consume them there as a lioness, A beast of the field tears them.
Amih te dueidah laemhong vom bangla ka doe vetih a lungbuei kah a pahuep ka phen pah ni. Te vaengah sathuengnu loh kohong mulhing a baeh bangla amih te pahoi ka dolh ni.
9 You have destroyed yourself, O Israel, But in Me [is] your help;
Nang kah bomkung kamah taeng lamloh Israel nang te m'phae ni.
10 Where [is] your king now—And he saves you in all your cities? And your judges of whom you said, Give a king and heads to me?
Na khopuei boeih ah nang aka khang ham na manghai neh nang kah lai aka tloek bal te ta? Te la, “Kai hamla manghai neh mangpa la m'pae,” na ti dae.
11 I give to you a king in My anger, And I take away in My wrath.
Manghai te nang taengah ka thintoek neh kam paek tih ka thinpom neh kan lat.
12 Bound up [is] the iniquity of Ephraim, Hidden [is] his sin,
Ephraim kathaesainah loh puen a cak tih a tholhnah te a khoem pah coeng.
13 Pangs of a travailing woman come to him, He [is] not a wise son, For he does not remain [at] the time for the breaking forth of sons.
Ca cun bungtloh loh anih taengah pai coeng. Anih tah camoe khaw a cueih moenih. Ca om tue vaengah khaw a om moenih.
14 Will I ransom them from the hand of Sheol? Will I redeem them from death? Where [is] your plague, O death? Where your destruction, O Sheol? Comfort is hid from My eyes. (Sheol )
Amih te saelkhui kut lamloh ka lat ni. Amih te dueknah lamloh ka tlan ni. Dueknah nang kah duektahaw te melae? Saelkhui nang kah lucik te melae? Suemnah khaw ka mik lamloh thuh uh ni. (Sheol )
15 Though he produces fruit among brothers, An east wind comes in, a wind of YHWH, From a wilderness it is coming up, And it dries up his fountain, And his spring becomes dry, It—it spoils a treasure—every desirable vessel.
Anih te pacaboeina lakli ah a thaih rhah mai cakhaw BOEIPA kah kanghawn yilh ha pai ni. Khosoek lamloh a khuen vetih a thunsih khaw kak ni. A tuisih khaw a khah pah ni. Anih te thakvoh khuikah sahnaih hnopai boeih a rhth pah ni.
16 Samaria becomes desolate, Because she has been rebellious against her God, They fall by sword, Their sucklings are dashed in pieces, And its pregnant ones are ripped up!”
A Pathen te a koek dongah Samaria boe coeng. Cunghang dongah cungku uh vetih a camoe rhoek te a til uh ni. A bungvawn khaw a boe pah ni.
