< Hebrews 1 >
1 In many parts and many ways, God, having spoken long ago to the fathers by the prophets,
purA ya Ishvaro bhaviShyadvAdibhiH pitR^ilokebhyo nAnAsamaye nAnAprakAraM kathitavAn
2 in these last days speaks to us in [His] Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom He also made the ages; (aiōn )
sa etasmin sheShakAle nijaputreNAsmabhyaM kathitavAn| sa taM putraM sarvvAdhikAriNaM kR^itavAn tenaiva cha sarvvajaganti sR^iShTavAn| (aiōn )
3 who being the brightness of the glory, and the impress of His subsistence, bearing up also all things by the saying of His might—having made a cleansing of our sins through Himself, sat down at the right hand of the Greatness in the highest,
sa putrastasya prabhAvasya pratibimbastasya tattvasya mUrttishchAsti svIyashaktivAkyena sarvvaM dhatte cha svaprANairasmAkaM pApamArjjanaM kR^itvA UrddhvasthAne mahAmahimno dakShiNapArshve samupaviShTavAn|
4 having become so much better than the messengers, as He inherited a more excellent name than them.
divyadUtagaNAd yathA sa vishiShTanAmno. adhikArI jAtastathA tebhyo. api shreShTho jAtaH|
5 For to which of the messengers did He ever say, “You are My Son—today I have begotten You?” And again, “I will be to Him for a Father, and He will be to Me for a Son?”
yato dUtAnAM madhye kadAchidIshvareNedaM ka uktaH? yathA, "madIyatanayo. asi tvam adyaiva janito mayA|" punashcha "ahaM tasya pitA bhaviShyAmi sa cha mama putro bhaviShyati|"
6 And when again He may bring the firstborn into the world, He says, “And let them worship Him—all messengers of God”;
aparaM jagati svakIyAdvitIyaputrasya punarAnayanakAle tenoktaM, yathA, "Ishvarasya sakalai rdUtaireSha eva praNamyatAM|"
7 and to the messengers, indeed, He says, “The [One] who is making His messengers spirits, and His ministers a flame of fire”;
dUtAn adhi tenedam uktaM, yathA, "sa karoti nijAn dUtAn gandhavAhasvarUpakAn| vahnishikhAsvarUpAMshcha karoti nijasevakAn||"
8 but to the Son: “Your throne, O God, [is] throughout the age of the age; The scepter of righteousness [is the] scepter of Your kingdom; (aiōn )
kintu putramuddishya tenoktaM, yathA, "he Ishvara sadA sthAyi tava siMhAsanaM bhavet| yAthArthyasya bhaveddaNDo rAjadaNDastvadIyakaH| (aiōn )
9 You loved righteousness, and hated lawlessness; Because of this He anointed You—God, Your God—With oil of gladness above Your partners”;
puNye prema karoShi tvaM ki nchAdharmmam R^itIyase| tasmAd ya Isha Ishaste sa te mitragaNAdapi| adhikAhlAdatailena sechanaM kR^itavAn tava||"
10 and, “You, LORD, founded the earth at the beginning, And the heavens are a work of Your hands.
punashcha, yathA, "he prabho pR^ithivImUlam Adau saMsthApitaM tvayA| tathA tvadIyahastena kR^itaM gaganamaNDalaM|
11 These will perish, but You remain, And all will become old as a garment,
ime vinaMkShyatastvantu nityamevAvatiShThase| idantu sakalaM vishvaM saMjariShyati vastravat|
12 And You will roll them together as a mantle, and they will be changed, But You are the same, and Your years will not fail.”
sa NkochitaM tvayA tattu vastravat parivartsyate| tvantu nityaM sa evAsI rnirantAstava vatsarAH||"
13 And to which of the messengers did He ever say, “Sit at My right hand, Until I may make Your enemies Your footstool?”
aparaM dUtAnAM madhye kaH kadAchidIshvareNedamuktaH? yathA, "tavArIn pAdapIThaM te yAvannahi karomyahaM| mama dakShiNadigbhAge tAvat tvaM samupAvisha||"
14 Are they not all spirits of service—being sent forth for ministry because of those about to inherit salvation?
ye paritrANasyAdhikAriNo bhaviShyanti teShAM paricharyyArthaM preShyamANAH sevanakAriNa AtmAnaH kiM te sarvve dUtA nahi?
