Hebrews 8
1 And the sum concerning the things spoken of [is]: we have such a Chief Priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Greatness in the heavens,
O ponto mais importante do que estamos tratando é que temos exatamente esse grande sacerdote, que está sentado à direita de Deus e cujo grandioso trono se encontra no céu.
2 a servant of the holy places, and of the true dwelling place, which the LORD set up, and not man,
Ele serve no santuário, a verdadeira Tenda que foi construída pelo Senhor e, não, por mãos humanas.
3 for every chief priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, from where [it is] necessary for this One to also have something that He may offer;
Por ser a responsabilidade de todo grande sacerdote oferecer ofertas e sacrifícios, esse grande sacerdote também deve ter algo para oferecer.
4 for if, indeed, He were on earth, He would not be a priest (there being the priests who are offering the gifts according to the Law,
Agora, se ele estivesse aqui na terra, não seria um sacerdote de forma alguma, pois já há sacerdotes para apresentar as ofertas que a lei exige.
5 who to an example and shadow serve of the heavenly things, as Moses has been divinely warned, being about to construct the Dwelling Place, for, “See,” He says, “[that] you will make all things according to the pattern that was shown to you on the mountain”),
O lugar em que eles trabalham não passa de uma cópia, uma simples sombra do que está no céu. Foi assim que Deus disse a Moisés, quando ele estava para construir a Tenda: “Tenha cuidado para fazer tudo de acordo com o modelo que lhe foi mostrado no monte.”
6 but now He has obtained a more excellent service, how much He is also mediator of a better covenant, which has been sanctioned on better promises,
Mas Jesus recebeu um trabalho muito melhor, da mesma forma que ele é aquele que faz a mediação em uma relação combinada muito melhor entre nós e Deus, pois ela é baseada em promessas muito superiores.
7 for if that first were faultless, a place would not have been sought for a second.
Se aquele primeiro acordo tivesse sido perfeito, então, não teria sido necessário que um segundo acordo fosse feito.
8 For finding fault, He says to them, “Behold, days come, says the LORD, and I will complete with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah, a new covenant,
Referindo-se aos seus defeitos, Deus disse ao seu povo: “Prestem atenção, diz o Senhor, pois está chegando o tempo em que eu farei um novo acordo com o povo de Israel e de Judá.
9 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, in the day of My taking [them] by their hand, to bring them out of the land of Egypt—because they did not remain in My covenant, and I did not regard them, says the LORD—
Porém, esse novo acordo será diferente do outro que eu fiz com os seus antepassados, quando eu os peguei pela mão e os tirei da terra do Egito. Pois eles não cumpriram a parte que lhes cabia na relação combinada comigo. Por isso, eu os desprezei, diz o Senhor.
10 because this [is] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel, after those days, says the LORD, giving My laws into their mind, and I will write them on their hearts, and I will be to them for a God, and they will be to Me for a people;
A relação que agora eu prometo para a casa de Israel é esta: Depois desse tempo, diz o Senhor, eu colocarei minhas leis em seus corações e irei gravar tais leis em suas mentes. Eu serei o Deus deles e eles serão o meu povo.
11 and they will not each teach his neighbor, and each his brother, saying, Know the LORD, because they will all know Me—from the small one of them to the great one of them,
Ninguém precisará ensinar ao seu próximo e ninguém precisará ensinar a qualquer membro da sua própria família, dizendo a eles: ‘Você deve conhecer o Senhor!’ Isso não será necessário, porque todos irão me conhecer, desde o mais humilde até o mais importante.
12 because I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and I will remember their sins and their lawlessnesses no more.”
Eu serei misericordioso quando eles errarem e não me lembrarei mais dos seus pecados.”
13 In the saying “new,” He has made the first obsolete, and what is becoming obsolete and growing old [is] near disappearing.
E ao dizer: “Uma nova relação combinada”, Deus fez com que o primeiro acordo ficasse velho e não valesse mais. E aquele que está velho e gasto logo irá desaparecer.
