Hebrews 5
1 For every chief priest taken out of men is set in things [pertaining] to God in behalf of men, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins,
Porque todo sumo sacerdote, tomado de entre los hombres, es designado para los hombres en lo que respecta a Dios, para que ofrezca tanto dones como sacrificios por los pecados.
2 being able to be gentle to those being ignorant and going astray, since he is also surrounded with weakness;
El sumo sacerdote puede tratar con dulzura a los que son ignorantes y se extravían, porque él mismo está también rodeado de debilidad.
3 and because of this [weakness] he ought, just as for the people, so also for himself, to bring forward [sacrifices] for sins;
Por eso debe ofrecer sacrificios por los pecados, tanto por el pueblo como por él mismo.
4 and no one takes the honor to himself, but he who is called by God, as also Aaron.
Nadie toma para si este honor, sino que es llamado por Dios, como lo fue Aarón.
5 So also the Christ did not glorify Himself to become Chief Priest, but He who spoke to Him: “You are My Son, today I have begotten You”;
Así también Cristo no se glorificó para ser hecho sumo sacerdote, sino que fue él quien le dijo, “Tú eres mi Hijo. Hoy me he convertido en tu padre”.
6 just as He also says in another [place], “You [are] a priest throughout the age, according to the order of Melchizedek”; (aiōn g165)
Como dice también en otro lugar, “Eres un sacerdote para siempre, según el orden de Melquisedec”. (aiōn g165)
7 who in the days of His flesh having offered up both prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and having been heard in respect to that which He feared,
Él, en los días de su carne, habiendo ofrecido oraciones y peticiones con fuerte clamor y lágrimas al que podía salvarlo de la muerte, y habiendo sido escuchado por su temor piadoso,
8 though being a Son, [He] learned obedience by the things which He suffered,
aunque era un Hijo, aprendió la obediencia por las cosas que sufrió.
9 and having been made perfect, He became the cause of continuous salvation to all those obeying Him, (aiōnios g166)
Habiendo sido perfeccionado, llegó a ser para todos los que le obedecen el autor de la salvación eterna, (aiōnios g166)
10 having been called by God a Chief Priest according to the order of Melchizedek,
nombrado por Dios sumo sacerdote según el orden de Melquisedec.
11 concerning the Word, of whom we have much [to speak], and of hard explanation to say, since you have become dull of hearing,
Acerca de él tenemos muchas palabras que decir, y difíciles de interpretar, ya que os habéis vuelto torpes de oído.
12 for even owing to be teachers, because of the time, again you have need that one teach you what [are] the elements of the beginning of the oracles of God, and you have become having need of milk, and not of strong food,
Pues aunque ya deberíais ser maestros, necesitáis de nuevo que alguien os enseñe los rudimentos de los primeros principios de las revelaciones de Dios. Habéis llegado a necesitar leche, y no alimento sólido.
13 for everyone who is partaking of milk [is] unskilled in the word of righteousness—for he is an infant,
Porque todo el que vive de leche no tiene experiencia en la palabra de justicia, pues es un bebé.
14 and the strong food is of perfect men, who because of the use are having the senses exercised, to both the discernment of good and of evil.
Pero el alimento sólido es para los que ya han crecido, que por el uso tienen sus sentidos ejercitados para discernir el bien y el mal.
