Hebrews 12
1 Therefore, we also having so great a cloud of witnesses set around us, having put off every weight, and the closely besetting sin, may we run the contest that is set before us through endurance,
૧આપણી આસપાસ સાક્ષીઓની એટલી મોટી વાદળારૂપી ભીડ છે, તેથી આપણે પણ દરેક પ્રકારના બોજા તથા વળગી રહેનારાં પાપ નાખી દઈએ અને આપણા માટે નિયત કરેલી દોડની સ્પર્ધામાં ધીરજથી દોડીએ.
2 looking to the Author and Perfecter of the faith—Jesus, who, for the joy set before Him, endured a cross, having despised shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God;
૨આપણે આપણા વિશ્વાસના અગ્રેસર તથા તેને સંપૂર્ણ કરનાર ઈસુની તરફ લક્ષ રાખીએ કે, જેમણે પોતાની સમક્ષ મૂકેલા આનંદને લીધે શરમને તુચ્છ ગણીને વધસ્તંભ પર મરણનું દુઃખ સહન કર્યું અને હાલ તેઓ ઈશ્વરના રાજ્યાસનની જમણી તરફ બિરાજમાન છે.
3 for again consider Him who endured such contradiction from the sinners to Himself, that you may not be wearied in your souls—being faint.
૩તો જેમણે પોતા પર પાપીઓનો એટલો બધો વિરોધ સહન કર્યો તેમનો વિચાર કરો, એમ ન થાય કે તમે પોતાના મનમાં અશક્ત થવાથી થાકી જાઓ.
4 You did not yet resist to blood—striving with sin;
૪તમે પાપનો સામનો કરો, પણ રક્તપાત સુધી તમે હજી સામનો કર્યો નથી.
5 and you have forgotten the exhortation that speaks fully to you as to sons, “My son, do not despise [the] discipline of [the] LORD, nor be faint, being reproved by Him,
૫વળી જે ઉપદેશ બાળકોની માફક સમજાવીને તમને અપાય છે, તે તમે ભૂલી ગયા, એટલે, ‘ઓ, મારા પુત્ર, તું પ્રભુની શિક્ષાને તુચ્છ ન ગણ અને તે ઠપકો આપે ત્યારે તું નાસીપાસ ન થા.
6 for whom the LORD loves He disciplines, and He scourges every son whom He receives”;
૬કેમ કે જેનાં પર પ્રભુ પ્રેમ રાખે છે, તેને તે શિક્ષા કરે છે, જે પુત્રનો તે અંગીકાર કરે છે, તે દરેકને તે કોરડા મારે છે.’”
7 if you endure discipline, God bears Himself to you as to sons, for who is a son whom a father does not discipline?
૭જે શિક્ષા તમે સહન કરો છો, તે શિક્ષાણને માટે છે જેમ પુત્રની સાથે તેમ તમારી સાથે ઈશ્વર વર્તે છે, કેમ કે એવું કયું બાળક છે જેને પિતા શિક્ષા કરતા નથી?
8 And if you are apart from discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are bastards, and not sons.
૮પણ જે શિક્ષાના ભાગીદાર સઘળાં થયા છે, તે શિક્ષા તમને ન થાય, તો તમે દાસીપુત્રો છો, ખરા પુત્રો તો નહિ.
9 Then, indeed, we have had fathers of our flesh, correctors, and we respected [them]; will we not much rather be subject to the Father of the spirits, and live?
૯વળી પૃથ્વી પરના આપણા પિતાઓ આપણને શિક્ષા કરતા હતા, અને આપણે તેઓનું માન રાખતા હતા, તો આપણા આત્માઓના પિતાને એથી વિશેષ માન આપીને તેમને આધીન રહીને જીવીએ નહિ?
10 For they, indeed, for a few days, according to what seemed good to them, were disciplining, but He for profit, to be partakers of His separation;
૧૦કેમ કે તેઓએ તો થોડાક દિવસો સુધી પોતાને જે વાજબી લાગ્યું તે પ્રમાણે આપણને શિક્ષા કરી ખરી, પણ તેમણે તો આપણા હિતને માટે શિક્ષા કરી કે આપણે તેમની પવિત્રતાના સહભાગી થઈએ.
11 and all discipline for the present, indeed, does not seem to be of joy, but of sorrow, yet afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those exercised through it.
૧૧કોઈ પણ શિક્ષા તે સમયે આનંદકારક નહિ, પણ ખેદકારક લાગે છે; પણ પછી તો તેથી કસાયેલાઓને તે ન્યાયીપણાનાં શાંતિદાયક ફળ આપે છે.
12 For this reason, lift up the hanging-down hands and the loosened knees;
૧૨એ માટે ઢીલા પડેલા હાથોને તથા અશક્ત થએલાં ઘૂંટણોને તમે ફરી મજબૂત કરો;
13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that which is lame may not be turned aside, but rather be healed;
૧૩પોતાના પગોને સારુ રસ્તા સુગમ કરો; જેથી જે અપંગ છે, તે ઊતરી ન જાય પણ એથી વિપરીત તે સાજું થાય.
14 pursue peace with all, and the separation, apart from which no one will see the LORD,
૧૪સઘળાંની સાથે શાંતિથી વર્તો, પવિત્રતા કે જેનાં વગર કોઈ પ્રભુને નિહાળશે નહિ તેને ધોરણે તમે ચાલો.
15 observing lest anyone be failing of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up may give trouble, and through this many may be defiled;
૧૫તમે બહુ સાવધ રહો, કે જેથી કોઈ ઈશ્વરની કૃપા પામ્યા વિના રહી ન જાય, એમ ન થાય કે કોઈ કડવાશરૂપી જડ ઊગે અને તમને ભ્રષ્ટ કરે, તેનાથી તમારામાંના ઘણાં લોક અપવિત્ર થાય,
16 lest anyone be a fornicator, or a profane person, as Esau, who in exchange for one morsel of food sold his birthright,
૧૬અને કોઈ વ્યભિચારી થાય, અથવા એસાવ કે જેણે એક ભોજનને માટે પોતાનું જ્યેષ્ઠપણું વેચી માર્યું તેના જેવો કોઈ ભ્રષ્ટ થાય.
17 for you know that also afterward, wishing to inherit the blessing, he was disapproved of, for he did not find a place of conversion, though having sought it with tears.
૧૭કેમ કે તમે જાણો છો કે ત્યાર પછી જ્યારે તે આશીર્વાદનો વારસો પામવા ઇચ્છતો હતો ત્યારે તે આંસુસહિત પ્રયત્ન કરતો હતો, તોપણ તેનો સ્વીકાર થયો નહિ કેમ કે પસ્તાવાનો પ્રસંગ તેને મળ્યો નહિ.
18 For you did not come near to the mountain touched and scorched with fire, and to blackness, and darkness, and storm,
૧૮વળી તમે એવાઓની પાસે આવ્યા નથી, એટલે સ્પર્શ કરાય એવા પહાડની, બળતી આગની, અંધારાયેલા આકાશની, અંધકારની તથા તોફાનની
19 and a sound of a trumpet, and a voice of sayings, which those having heard begged that a word might not be added to them,
૧૯તથા રણશિંગડાના અવાજની તથા એવા શબ્દોની ધ્વનિની કે જેનાં સાંભળનારાઓએ વિનંતી કરી કે એવા બોલ અમને ફરીથી સાંભળવામાં આવે નહિ.
20 for they were not bearing that which is commanded, “And if a beast may touch the mountain, it will be stoned, or shot through with an arrow,”
૨૦કેમ કે જે આજ્ઞા થઈ, તે તેઓથી સહન થઈ શકી નહિ, જો કોઈ જાનવર પણ પહાડને સ્પર્શ કરે, તો તે પથ્થરથી માર્યું જાય.
21 and (so terrible was the sight), Moses said, “I am exceedingly fearful, and trembling.”
૨૧તે વખતનો દેખાય એવો બિહામણો હતો કે મૂસાએ કહ્યું કે, ‘હું બહુ બીહું છું અને ધ્રૂજું છું.’”
22 But you came to Mount Zion, and to [the] city of the living God, to the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of messengers,
૨૨પણ તમે તો સિયોન પહાડની પાસે અને જીવતા ઈશ્વરના નગર એટલે સ્વર્ગીય યરુશાલેમની પાસે અને હજારોહજાર સ્વર્ગદૂતોની પાસે,
23 to the assembly-place and Assembly of the Firstborn registered in Heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to spirits of righteous men made perfect,
૨૩પ્રથમ જન્મેલાં જેઓનાં નામ સ્વર્ગમાં લખી લેવામાં આવેલાં છે તેઓની સાર્વત્રિક સભા તથા વિશ્વાસી સમુદાયની પાસે અને સહુનો ન્યાય કરનાર ઈશ્વરની પાસે અને સંપૂર્ણ થએલાં ન્યાયીઓના આત્માઓની પાસે,
24 and to a mediator of a new covenant—Jesus, and to blood of sprinkling, speaking better things than that of Abel!
૨૪નવા કરારના મધ્યસ્થ ઈસુની પાસે અને જે છંટકાવનું રક્ત હાબેલના કરતાં સારું બોલે છે ત્યાં તેની પાસે આવ્યા છો.
25 Watch out lest you refuse Him who is speaking, for if those did not escape who refused him who was divinely speaking on earth—much less we who turn away from Him who [speaks] from Heaven,
૨૫જે બોલે છે તેનો તમે અનાદર ન કરો, માટે સાવધ રહો; કેમ કે પૃથ્વી પર ચેતવનારનો જેઓએ નકાર કર્યો તેઓ જો બચ્યા નહિ, તો સ્વર્ગમાંથી ચેતવનારની પાસેથી જો આપણે ફરીએ તો ચોક્કસ બચીશું નહિ.
26 whose voice shook the earth then, and now He has promised, saying, “Yet once [more]—I shake not only the earth, but also Heaven”;
૨૬તેમની વાણીએ તે સમયે પૃથ્વીને કંપાવી, પણ તેમણે એવું આશાવચન આપ્યું છે કે, હવે ફરી એક વાર હું એકલી પૃથ્વીને જ નહિ, આકાશને પણ હલાવીશ.
27 and this, “Yet once [more],” makes evident the removal of the things shaken, as of things having been made, that the things not shaken may remain;
૨૭‘ફરી એક વારનો’ અર્થ એ છે કે, કંપાયમાન થયેલી વસ્તુઓ સૃષ્ટ વસ્તુઓની માફક નાશ પામે છે, જેથી જેઓ કંપાયમાન થયેલી નથી તે હંમેશા ટકી રહે.
28 for this reason, receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, may we have grace, through which we may serve God well-pleasingly, with reverence and fear,
૨૮માટે કંપાવવામાં ના આવે એવું રાજ્ય પ્રાપ્ત કરીને આપણે ઈશ્વરનો આભાર માનીએ, જેથી ઈશ્વર પ્રસન્ન થાય એવી રીતે આપણે તેમની સેવા આદરભાવ તથા બીકથી કરીએ.
29 for our God [is] also a consuming fire.
૨૯કેમ કે આપણો ઈશ્વર ભસ્મીભૂત કરી નાખનાર અગ્નિ છે.
