Haggai 1
1 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, a word of YHWH has been by the hand of Haggai the prophet, to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,
| در سال دوم سلطنت داریوش، در روز اول ماه ششم، خداوند پیامی توسط حَجَّی نبی برای زروبابِل (پسر شئلتیئیل) حاکم یهودا، و برای یهوشع (پسر یهوصادق) کاهن اعظم، فرستاد. |
2 “Thus spoke YHWH of Hosts, saying, This people—they have said, The time has not come, The time the house of YHWH [is] to be built.”
| خداوند لشکرهای آسمان به حَجَّی نبی فرمود: «این قوم می‌گویند که اکنون وقت بازسازی خانهٔ خدا نیست.» |
3 And there is a word of YHWH by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying,
| سپس، خداوند این پیام را توسط حَجَّی نبی برای قوم فرستاد: |
4 “Is it time for you to dwell in your covered houses, And this house to lie waste?”
| «آیا این درست است که شما در خانه‌های نوساخته زندگی کنید ولی خانهٔ من خراب بماند؟ |
5 And now, thus said YHWH of Hosts: “Set your heart to your ways.
| پس حال خداوند لشکرهای آسمان چنین می‌گوید: به نتیجهٔ کارهایتان نگاه کنید: |
6 You have sown much, and brought in little, To eat, and not to satiety, To drink, and not to drunkenness, To clothe, and none has heat, And he who is hiring himself out, Is hiring himself for a bag pierced through.”
| بذر زیاد می‌کارید، ولی محصول کم برداشت می‌کنید؛ می‌خورید ولی سیر نمی‌شوید؛ می‌نوشید ولی تشنگی‌تان رفع نمی‌گردد؛ لباس می‌پوشید اما گرم نمی‌شوید؛ مزد می‌گیرید ولی گویی آن را در کیسه‌های سوراخ می‌گذارید. |
7 Thus said YHWH of Hosts: “Set your heart to your ways.
| «خداوند لشکرهای آسمان چنین می‌گوید: خوب فکر کنید و ببینید چه کرده‌اید و نتیجه‌اش چه بوده است! |
8 Go up the mountain, and you have brought in wood, And build the house, and I am pleased with it. And I am honored,” said YHWH.
| حال به کوه رفته، چوب بیاورید و خانهٔ مرا دوباره بسازید تا من از آن راضی شوم و در آنجا مردم احترام مرا بجا آورند. |
9 “Looking for much, and behold, little, And you brought [it] home, and I blew on it—why?” A declaration of YHWH of Hosts, “Because of My house that is desolate, And you are running—each to his house,
| «انتظار محصول فراوانی داشتید، اما خیلی کم به دست آوردید؛ و وقتی همان مقدار کم را هم به منزل آوردید، آن را از بین بردم. می‌دانید چرا؟ خداوند لشکرهای آسمان می‌فرماید: چون خانهٔ من خراب مانده و شما فقط به فکر خانه‌های خود هستید. |
10 Therefore, over you the heavens have refrained from dew, And the land has refrained its increase.
| به همین علّت است که آسمان نمی‌بارد و زمین محصول خود را نمی‌دهد. |
11 And I proclaim drought on the land, And on the mountains, and on the grain, And on the new wine, and on the oil, And on what the ground brings forth, And on man, and on beast, And on all labor of the hands.”
| من در سرزمین شما خشکسالی پدید آورده‌ام و این خشکسالی تمام کوهها، مزرعه‌ها، تاکستانها، باغهای زیتون و سایر محصولات و حتی انسان و حیوان و تمام حاصل دسترنج شما را فرا خواهد گرفت.» |
12 And Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Joshua son of Josedech, the high priest, and all the remnant of the people, listen to the voice of their God YHWH, and to the words of Haggai the prophet, as their God YHWH had sent him, and the people are afraid of the face of YHWH.
| آنگاه زروبابِل و یهوشع و تمام کسانی که از اسارت برگشته بودند از خداوند ترسیدند و پیام حَجَّی نبی را که خداوند، خدایشان به او داده بود اطاعت کردند. |
13 And Haggai, messenger of YHWH, in messages of YHWH, speaks to the people, saying, “I [am] with you, a declaration of YHWH.”
| سپس خداوند بار دیگر توسط نبی خود حَجَّی به قوم فرمود: «من با شما هستم.» |
14 And YHWH stirs up the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people, and they come in, and work in the house of YHWH of Hosts their God,
| خداوند روحِ زَروبابِل فرزند شِئَلتیئیل فرماندار یهودا، و روحِ یِهوشَع فرزند یِهوصاداق کاهن اعظم، و روح تمامی باقیماندگان قوم را برانگیخت تا خانهٔ یهوه خدای خود، خدای لشکرهای آسمان، را بسازند. |
15 in the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
| پس، در سال دوم سلطنت داریوش در روز بیست و چهارم ماه ششم خانۀ خداوند ساخته شد. |
