Haggai 2
1 In the seventh [month], on the twenty-first of the month, a word of YHWH has been by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying,
En el mes séptimo, a los veintiún días del mes, vino la palabra de Yahvé por medio del profeta Ageo, diciendo:
2 “Now speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua son of Josedech, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying,
“Habla ahora a Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, gobernador de Judá, y a Josué, hijo de Josadac, sumo sacerdote, y al resto del pueblo, diciendo:
3 Who among you has been left that saw this house in its former glory? And what are you seeing it now? Is it not, compared with it, as nothing in your eyes?
‘¿Quién queda entre vosotros que haya visto esta casa en su antigua gloria? ¿Cómo la veis ahora? ¿No es a vuestros ojos como nada?
4 And now, be strong, O Zerubbabel,” A declaration of YHWH, “And be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest, And be strong, all you people of the land,” A declaration of YHWH, “And do, for I [am] with you,” A declaration of YHWH of Hosts.
Pero ahora esfuérzate, Zorobabel — dice el Señor. Sé fuerte, Josué hijo de Josadac, el sumo sacerdote. Sé fuerte, todo el pueblo de la tierra — dice el Señor — y trabaja, porque yo estoy contigo — dice el Señor de los Ejércitos.
5 “The thing that I covenanted with you, In your coming forth from Egypt, And My Spirit is remaining in your midst, do not fear.”
Esta es la palabra que pacté con ustedes cuando salieron de Egipto, y mi Espíritu vivió entre ustedes. ‘No tengan miedo’.
6 For thus said YHWH of Hosts: “Yet once more—it [is] a little, And I am shaking the heavens and the earth, And the sea, and the dry land,
Porque esto es lo que dice el Señor de los Ejércitos: ‘Todavía falta un poco, y haré temblar los cielos, la tierra, el mar y la tierra seca;
7 And I have shaken all the nations, And they have come [to] the desire of all the nations, And I have filled this house [with] glory,” said YHWH of Hosts.
y haré temblar a todas las naciones. Vendrá el tesoro de todas las naciones, y llenaré de gloria esta casa, dice el Señor de los Ejércitos.
8 “The silver [is] Mine, and the gold [is] Mine,” A declaration of YHWH of Hosts.
Mía es la plata y el oro, dice el Señor de los Ejércitos.
9 “Greater is the glory of this latter house, Than of the former,” said YHWH of Hosts, “And I give peace in this place,” A declaration of YHWH of Hosts.
‘La última gloria de esta casa será mayor que la primera’, dice el Señor de los Ejércitos; ‘y en este lugar daré la paz’, dice el Señor de los Ejércitos.”
10 On the twenty-fourth of the ninth [month], in the second year of Darius, a word of YHWH has been by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying,
En el día veinticuatro del mes noveno, en el segundo año de Darío, vino la palabra de Yahvé por medio del profeta Hageo, diciendo:
11 Thus said YHWH of Hosts: “Now ask the priests of the Law, saying,
“Dice Yahvé de los Ejércitos: Pregunta ahora a los sacerdotes acerca de la ley, diciendo:
12 Behold, [when] one carries holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and he has come with his skirt against the bread, or against the stew, or against the wine, or against the oil, or against any food—is it holy?” And the priests answer and say, “No.”
‘Si alguien lleva carne sagrada en el pliegue de su vestido, y con su pliegue toca pan, guiso, vino, aceite o cualquier alimento, ¿se convertirá en algo sagrado?’” Los sacerdotes respondieron: “No”.
13 And Haggai says, “If the unclean of body comes against any of these, is it unclean?” And the priests answer and say, “It is unclean.”
Entonces Hageo dijo: “Si uno que es impuro por causa de un cadáver toca algo de esto, ¿será impuro?” Los sacerdotes respondieron: “Será impuro”.
14 And Haggai answers and says, “So [is] this people, and so [is] this nation before Me,” a declaration of YHWH, “and so [is] every work of their hands, and that which they bring near there—it is unclean.
Entonces Hageo respondió: “‘Así es este pueblo, y así es esta nación ante mí’, dice el Señor; ‘y así es toda obra de sus manos. Lo que ofrecen allí es impuro.
15 And now, please lay [it] to your heart, From this day and onward, Before the laying of stone to stone in the temple of YHWH.
Ahora bien, consideren desde este día y hacia atrás, antes de que se pusiera una piedra sobre otra en el templo de Yahvé.
16 From that time [one] has come to a heap of twenty, And it has been ten, He has come to the wine vat to draw out fifty measures, And it has been twenty.
Durante todo ese tiempo, cuando uno llegaba a un montón de veinte medidas, sólo había diez. Cuando uno llegaba a la cuba de vino para sacar cincuenta, sólo había veinte.
17 I have struck you with blasting, And with mildew, and with hail—All the work of your hands, And there is none of you with Me,” A declaration of YHWH.
Yo te he golpeado con tizón, moho y granizo en toda la obra de tus manos, pero no te has vuelto a mí — dice el Señor.
18 “Now set [it] to your heart, from this day and onward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth [month], even from the day that the temple of YHWH has been founded, set [it] to your heart.
‘Considera, por favor, desde este día y hacia atrás, desde el día veinticuatro del noveno mes, desde el día en que se pusieron los cimientos del templo de Yahvé, considéralo.
19 Is the seed yet in the barn? And until now the vine and the fig, And the pomegranate, and the olive-tree, Have not borne—from this day I bless.”
¿Está todavía la semilla en el granero? Sí, la vid, la higuera, el granado y el olivo no han producido. Desde hoy los bendeciré”.
20 And there is a word of YHWH a second time to Haggai, on the twenty-fourth of the month, saying,
La palabra de Yahvé vino por segunda vez a Hageo en el día veinticuatro del mes, diciendo:
21 “Speak to Zerubbabel governor of Judah, saying, I am shaking the heavens and the earth,
“Habla a Zorobabel, gobernador de Judá, diciendo: ‘Voy a hacer temblar los cielos y la tierra.
22 And have overturned the throne of kingdoms, And I have destroyed the strength of kingdoms of the nations, And overturned chariot and its charioteers, And horses and their riders have come down, Each by the sword of his brother.
Derribaré el trono de los reinos. Destruiré la fuerza de los reinos de las naciones. Derribaré los carros y a los que van en ellos. Los caballos y sus jinetes caerán, cada uno por la espada de su hermano.
23 In that day,” a declaration of YHWH of Hosts, “I take you, Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, My servant,” A declaration of YHWH, “And have set you as a signet, For I have fixed on you,” A declaration of YHWH of Hosts!
En aquel día, dice el Señor de los Ejércitos, te tomaré a ti, Zorobabel, mi siervo, hijo de Salatiel — dice el Señor —, y te pondré como anillo de sello, porque te he elegido — dice el Señor de los Ejércitos.”
