Genesis 7
1 And YHWH says to Noah, “Come, you and all your house, into the Ark, for I have seen you [are] righteous before Me in this generation;
Gospod je rekel Noetu: »Pridi ti in vsa tvoja hiša v ladjo, kajti pred seboj sem te videl pravičnega v tem rodu.
2 you take seven pairs from all the clean beasts to yourself, a male and its female; and of the beasts which are not clean—two, a male and its female;
Od vsake čiste živali boš vzel k sebi po sedmero, samca in njegovo samico. Od živali, ki niso čiste, po dvoje, samca in njegovo samico.
3 also, seven pairs from [each] bird of the heavens, a male and a female, to keep alive seed on the face of all the earth;
Tudi od perjadi neba po sedmero, samca in samico, da na obličju vse zemlje ohraniš seme živo.
4 for after seven more days I am sending rain on the earth [for] forty days and forty nights, and have wiped away all the substance that I have made from off the face of the ground.”
Kajti še sedem dni in povzročil bom, da na zemljo dežuje štirideset dni in štirideset noči; in vsako živo snov, ki sem jo naredil, bom uničil izpred obličja zemlje.«
5 And Noah does according to all that YHWH has commanded him.
Noe je storil glede na vse, kar mu je Gospod zapovedal.
6 And Noah [is] a son of six hundred years, and the flood of waters has been on the earth.
Noe je bil star šeststo let, ko je bila na zemlji poplava vodá.
7 And Noah goes—and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him—into the Ark, out of the presence of the waters of the flood;

8 from the clean beast, and from the beast that [is] not clean, and from the bird, and of everything that is creeping on the ground,

9 they have come to Noah two by two into the Ark, a male and a female, as God has commanded Noah.

10 And it comes to pass, after seven days, that waters of the flood have been on the earth.

11 In the six hundredth year of the life of Noah, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on this day all [the] fountains of the great deep have been broken up, and the network of the heavens has been opened,
V šeststotem letu Noetovega življenja, v drugem mesecu, sedemnajsti dan meseca, istega dne so izbruhnili vsi studenci velike globine in okna neba so bila odprta.
12 and the shower is on the earth [for] forty days and forty nights.
In dež je bil na zemlji štirideset dni in štirideset noči.
13 On this very same day Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, went into the Ark—
Prav isti dan so vstopili v ladjo Noe ter Sem in Ham in Jafet, Noetovi sinovi in Noetova žena in z njim tri žene njegovih sinov.
14 they, and every living creature after its kind, and every beast after its kind, and every creeping thing that is creeping on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind (every bird, every wing).

15 And they come to Noah, into the Ark, two by two of all the flesh in which [is] a living spirit;

16 and they that are coming in, male and female of all flesh, have come in as God has commanded him, and YHWH closes [it] for him.
Te, ki so vstopile, so vstopile samec in samica od vsega mesa, kakor mu je Bog zapovedal. Gospod pa ga je zaprl noter.
17 And the flood is on the earth [for] forty days, and the waters multiply and lift up the Ark, and it is raised up from off the earth;
Na zemlji je bila poplava štirideset dni. Vode so narasle in podpirale ladjo in ta je bila dvignjena nad zemljo.
18 and the waters are mighty and multiply exceedingly on the earth; and the Ark goes on the face of the waters.
Vode so prevladale in silno narasle na zemlji in ladja je plula na obličju vodá.
19 And the waters have been very, very mighty on the earth, and all the high mountains are covered which [are] under the whole heavens;
Vode so silno prevladale na zemlji in vsi visoki hribi, ki so bili pod celotnim nebom, so bili pokriti.
20 the waters prevailed from above the mountains, and cover [them] fifteen cubits;

21 and all flesh expires that is moving on the earth, among bird, and among livestock, and among beast, and among every teeming thing which is teeming on the earth, and all mankind;
Umrlo je vse meso, ki se je gibalo na zemlji, tako od perjadi, od živine, od živali in od vsake plazeče stvari, ki se plazi na zemlji in vsakega človeka.
22 all in whose nostrils [is] breath of a living spirit—of all that [is] in the dry land—have died.

23 And all the substance that is on the face of the ground is wiped away—from man to beast, to creeping thing, and to bird of the heavens; indeed, they are wiped away from the earth, and only Noah is left, and those who [are] with him in the Ark;
Uničena je bila vsaka živa snov, ki je bila na obličju tal, tako človek kakor živina, plazeče stvari in perjad neba; in bile so uničene z zemlje. Živ je ostal samo Noe in tisti, ki so bili z njim na ladji.
24 and the waters are mighty on the earth [for] one hundred and fifty days.
Vode so prevladovale na zemlji sto petdeset dni.
