Genesis 47
1 And Joseph comes and declares [it] to Pharaoh, and says, “My father, and my brothers, and their flock, and their herd, and all they have, have come from the land of Canaan, and behold, they [are] in the land of Goshen.”
Und Joseph kam und sagte es Pharao an und sprach: Mein Vater und meine Brüder und ihr Kleinvieh und ihre Rinder und alles, was sie haben, sind aus dem Lande Kanaan gekommen; und siehe, sie sind im Lande Goschen.
2 And out of his brothers he has taken five men, and sets them before Pharaoh;
Und aus der Zahl seiner Brüder nahm er fünf Männer und stellte sie vor Pharao.
3 and Pharaoh says to his brothers, “What [are] your works?” And they say to Pharaoh, “Your servants [are] feeders of a flock, both we and our fathers”;
Und Pharao sprach zu seinen Brüdern: Was ist euer Tun? Und sie sprachen zu Pharao: Hirten des Kleinviehs sind deine Knechte, sowohl wir, als auch unsre Väter.
4 and they say to Pharaoh, “We have come to sojourn in the land, for there is no pasture for the flock which your servants have, for the famine in the land of Canaan [is] grievous; and now, please let your servants dwell in the land of Goshen.”
Und sie sprachen zu Pharao: Um uns aufzuhalten im Lande, sind wir gekommen, weil keine Weide ist für das Kleinvieh, das deine Knechte haben; denn die Hungersnot ist schwer im Lande Kanaan; und nun möchten deine Knechte im Lande Gosen wohnen.
5 And Pharaoh speaks to Joseph, saying, “Your father and your brothers have come to you:
Und Pharao sprach zu Joseph und sagte: Dein Vater und deine Brüder sind zu dir gekommen.
6 the land of Egypt is before you; cause your father and your brothers to dwell in the best of the land—they dwell in the land of Goshen, and if you have known, and there are among them men of ability, then you have set them [as] heads over the livestock I have.”
Das Land Ägypten, das ist vor dir. Laß deinen Vater und deine Brüder im Besten des Landes wohnen. Sie mögen wohnen im Lande Goschen. Und wenn du weißt, daß tüchtige Männer unter ihnen sind, so setze sie als Oberste über die Viehherden, die ich habe.
7 And Joseph brings in his father Jacob, and causes him to stand before Pharaoh; and Jacob blesses Pharaoh.
Und Joseph brachte Jakob, seinen Vater, und stellte ihn vor Pharao; und Jakob segnete Pharao.
8 And Pharaoh says to Jacob, “How many [are] the days of the years of your life?”
Und Pharao sprach zu Jakob: Wieviel sind die Tage deiner Lebensjahre?
9 And Jacob says to Pharaoh, “The days of the years of my sojournings [are] one hundred and thirty years; few and evil have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not reached the days of the years of the life of my fathers, in the days of their sojournings.”
Und Jakob sprach zu Pharao: Die Tage der Jahre meiner Wanderungen sind hundertdreißig Jahre. Wenig und böse waren die Tage meiner Lebensjahre, und reichen nicht an die Tage der Lebensjahre meiner Väter in den Tagen ihrer Wanderungen.
10 And Jacob blesses Pharaoh, and goes out from before Pharaoh.
Und Jakob segnete den Pharao, und ging hinaus von Pharao.
11 And Joseph settles his father and his brothers, and gives a possession to them in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh commanded;
Joseph aber ließ seinen Vater und seine Brüder wohnen und gab ihnen Eigentum im Lande Ägypten, im Besten des Landes, im Lande Raamses, wie Pharao geboten hatte.
12 and Joseph nourishes his father, and his brothers, and all the house of his father [with] bread, according to the mouth of the infants.
Und Joseph versorgte seinen Vater und seine Brüder und das ganze Haus seines Vaters mit Brot nach dem Munde der Kindlein.
13 And there is no bread in all the land, for the famine [is] very grievous, and the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan are feeble because of the famine;
Und es war kein Brot im ganzen Lande; denn die Hungersnot war sehr schwer, und das Land Ägypten und das Land Kanaan schmachteten vor Hunger.
14 and Joseph gathers all the silver that is found in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan, for the grain that they are buying, and Joseph brings the silver into the house of Pharaoh.
Und Joseph sammelte alles Silber, das sich im Lande Ägypten und im Lande Kanaan fand, für das Getreide, das sie kauften, und Joseph brachte das Silber herein in das Haus Pharaos.
15 And the silver is consumed out of the land of Egypt and out of the land of Canaan, and all the Egyptians come to Joseph, saying, “Give bread to us—why do we die before you, though the money has ceased?”
Und das Silber vom Lande Ägypten und vom Lande Kanaan war ganz aus, da kamen alle Ägypter zu Joseph und sprachen: Gib uns Brot! Warum sollen wir sterben vor dir, weil das Silber zu Ende ist?
16 And Joseph says, “Give your livestock; and I give to you for your livestock, if the money has ceased.”
Und Joseph sprach: Gebt eure Viehherden, und ich will es euch für eure Viehherden geben, wenn das Silber zu Ende ist!
17 And they bring in their livestock to Joseph, and Joseph gives to them bread, for the horses, and for the livestock of the flock, and for the livestock of the herd, and for the donkeys; and he tends them with bread, for all their livestock, during that year.
Und sie brachten ihre Viehherden zu Joseph und Joseph gab ihnen Brot für die Pferde und für die Viehherden von Kleinvieh und für die Viehherden von Rindern und für die Esel, und er versorgte sie in diesem Jahr mit Brot für all ihre Viehherden.
18 And that year is finished, and they come to him on the second year, and say to him, “We do not hide from my lord, that since the money has been finished, and possession of the livestock [is] to my lord, there has not been left before my lord except our bodies, and our ground;
Und dieses Jahr war ganz aus, und sie kamen im zweiten Jahr zu ihm und sprachen zu ihm: Wir wollen es vor dem Herrn nicht verhehlen, daß unser Silber ganz aus ist, und das Besitztum des Viehs unsres Herrn ist, und uns vor dem Herrn nichts bleibt, als unser Leib und unser Boden.
19 why do we die before your eyes, both we and our ground? Buy us and our ground for bread, and we and our ground are servants to Pharaoh; and give seed, and we live, and do not die, and the ground is not desolate.”
Warum sollten wir vor deinen Augen sterben, so wir, wie unser Boden. Kaufe uns und unseren Boden für das Brot, dann wollen wir und unser Boden dem Pharao Knechte sein, und gib Samen, daß wir leben und nicht sterben und der Boden nicht wüste werde.
20 And Joseph buys all the ground of Egypt for Pharaoh, for the Egyptians have each sold his field, for the famine has been severe on them, and the land becomes Pharaoh’s;
Und Joseph kaufte allen Boden Ägyptens für Pharao; denn die Ägypter verkauften jeder Mann sein Feld, weil die Hungersnot stark war über ihnen, und das Land wurde des Pharao.
21 as for the people, he has removed them to cities from the [one] end of the border of Egypt even to its [other] end.
Und das Volk ließ er hinziehen nach den Städten vom Ende der Grenze Ägyptens und bis zu seinem Ende.
22 Only the ground of the priests he has not bought, for the priests have a portion from Pharaoh, and they have eaten their portion which Pharaoh has given to them, therefore they have not sold their ground.
Nur den Boden der Priester kaufte er nicht; denn die Priester hatten von Pharao ihr Bestimmtes, und sie aßen ihr Bestimmtes, das ihnen Pharao gegeben hatte, deshalb verkauften sie ihren Boden nicht.
23 And Joseph says to the people, “Behold, I have bought you today and your ground for Pharaoh; behold, seed for you, and you have sown the ground,
Und Joseph sprach zu dem Volke: Siehe, ich habe euch und euern Boden heute für Pharao gekauft. Da ist Samen für euch und besäet den Boden.
24 and it has come to pass in the increases, that you have given a fifth to Pharaoh, and four of the parts are for yourselves, for seed of the field, and for your food, and for those who [are] in your houses, and for food for your infants.”
Und von dem Ertrage sollet ihr den Fünften an Pharao geben, und vier Teile sollen euer sein für den Samen des Feldes und zu eurer Speise und derer, so in euern Häusern sind, und für eure Kindlein zum Essen.
25 And they say, “You have revived us; we find grace in the eyes of my lord, and have been servants to Pharaoh”;
Und sie sprachen: Du hast uns das Leben erhalten. Wir haben Gnade in den Augen des Herrn gefunden; und wir wollen Knechte sein dem Pharao.
26 and Joseph sets it for a statute to this day, concerning the ground of Egypt, [that] Pharaoh has a fifth; only the ground of the priests alone has not become Pharaoh’s.
Und Joseph setzte dies zur Satzung ein bis auf diesen Tag über den Boden Ägyptens, dem Pharao den Fünften zu geben. Nur der Boden der Priester allein ward nicht des Pharaos.
27 And Israel dwells in the land of Egypt, in the land of Goshen, and they have possession in it, and are fruitful, and multiply exceedingly;
Und Israel wohnte im Lande Ägypten, im Lande Goschen; und sie hatten dort Eigentum, und waren fruchtbar und mehrten sich sehr.
28 and Jacob lives in the land of Egypt seventeen years, and the days of Jacob, the years of his life, are one hundred and forty-seven years.
Und Jakob lebte im Lande Ägypten siebzehn Jahre; und die Tage Jakobs, seiner Lebensjahre waren hundertsiebenundvierzig Jahre.
29 And the days of Israel are near to die, and he calls for his son, for Joseph, and says to him, “Now if I have found grace in your eyes, please put your hand under my thigh, and you have done kindness and truth with me; please do not bury me in Egypt,
Und die Tage Israels nahten, daß er sterben sollte, und er rief seinen Sohn Joseph und sprach zu ihm: Wenn ich Gnade gefunden in deinen Augen, so lege doch deine Hand unter meine Hüfte und tue mir die Barmherzigkeit und Wahrheit, daß du mich doch nicht in Ägypten begrabest.
30 and I have lain with my fathers, and you have carried me out of Egypt, and buried me in their burying-place.” And he says, “I do according to your word”;
Und laß mich liegen bei meinen Vätern, und trage mich hinauf aus Ägypten und begrabe mich in ihrem Grabe. Und er sprach: Ich will tun nach deinem Worte.
31 and he says, “Swear to me”; and he swears to him, and Israel bows himself on the head of the bed.
Und er sprach: Schwöre mir! und er schwur ihm. Und Israel verbeugte sich über das Haupt seines Bettes.
