Genesis 46
1 And Israel journeys, and all that he has, and comes to Beer-Sheba, and sacrifices sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac;
Israël partit avec tout ce qu'il avait, arriva à Beer Schéba, et offrit des sacrifices au Dieu de son père Isaac.
2 and God speaks to Israel in visions of the night and says, “Jacob, Jacob”; and he says, “Here I [am].”
Dieu parla à Israël dans les visions de la nuit, et dit: « Jacob, Jacob! » Il a dit: « Je suis là. »
3 And He says, “I [am] God, God of your father, do not be afraid of going down to Egypt, for I set you there for a great nation;
Il dit: « Je suis Dieu, le Dieu de ton père. Ne crains pas de descendre en Égypte, car c'est là que je ferai de toi une grande nation.
4 I go down with you to Egypt, and I also certainly bring you up, and Joseph puts his hand on your eyes.”
Je descendrai avec toi en Égypte. Et je te ferai remonter. La main de Joseph fermera tes yeux. »
5 And Jacob rises from Beer-Sheba, and the sons of Israel carry away their father Jacob, and their infants, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh has sent to carry him,
Jacob se leva de Beer Schéba, et les fils d'Israël portèrent Jacob, leur père, leurs petits enfants et leurs femmes, dans les chariots que Pharaon avait envoyés pour le transporter.
6 and they take their livestock, and their goods which they have acquired in the land of Canaan, and come into Egypt—Jacob, and all his seed with him,
Ils prirent leur bétail et leurs biens, qu'ils avaient acquis au pays de Canaan, et ils entrèrent en Égypte: Jacob, et toute sa descendance avec lui,
7 his sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, indeed, all his seed he brought with him into Egypt.
ses fils, et les fils de ses fils avec lui, ses filles, et les filles de ses fils, et il amena toute sa descendance avec lui en Égypte.
8 And these [are] the names of the sons of Israel who are coming into Egypt: Jacob and his sons, Jacob’s firstborn, Reuben.
Voici les noms des enfants d'Israël qui vinrent en Égypte, de Jacob et de ses fils: Ruben, premier-né de Jacob.
9 And sons of Reuben: Enoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.
Fils de Ruben: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron et Carmi.
10 And sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul son of the Canaanite.
Fils de Siméon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar et Shaoul, fils d'une Cananéenne.
11 And sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
Fils de Lévi: Gershon, Kehath et Merari.
12 And sons of Judah: Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Perez, and Zerah (and Er and Onan die in the land of Canaan). And sons of Perez are Hezron and Hamul.
Fils de Juda: Er, Onan, Shéla, Pérez et Zérach; mais Er et Onan moururent au pays de Canaan. Les fils de Pérez furent Hetsron et Hamul.
13 And sons of Issachar: Tola, and Phuvah, and Job, and Shimron.
Fils d'Issacar: Tola, Puvah, Iob et Shimron.
14 And sons of Zebulun: Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel.
Fils de Zabulon: Sered, Elon et Jahleel.
15 These [are] sons of Leah whom she bore to Jacob in Padan-Aram, and his daughter Dinah; all the persons of his sons and his daughters [are] thirty-three.
Ce sont là les fils de Léa, qu'elle enfanta à Jacob à Paddan Aram, avec sa fille Dina. Le total des âmes de ses fils et de ses filles était de trente-trois.
16 And sons of Gad: Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.
Fils de Gad: Ziphion, Haggi, Shuni, Ezbon, Eri, Arodi et Areli.
17 And sons of Asher: Jimnah, and Ishuah, and Isui, and Beriah, and their sister Serah. And sons of Beriah: Heber and Malchiel.
Fils d'Asher: Imna, Ishva, Ishvi, Beriah, et Serah, leur sœur. Fils de Beria: Héber et Malkiel.
18 These [are] sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to his daughter Leah, and she bears these to Jacob—sixteen persons.
Voici les fils de Zilpa, que Laban donna à Léa, sa fille, et qu'elle enfanta à Jacob: seize âmes.
19 Sons of Rachel, Jacob’s wife: Joseph and Benjamin.
Fils de Rachel, femme de Jacob: Joseph et Benjamin.
20 And born to Joseph in the land of Egypt (whom Asenath daughter of Poti-Pherah, priest of On, has borne to him) [are] Manasseh and Ephraim.
A Joseph naquirent, au pays d'Égypte, Manassé et Éphraïm, qu'Asenath, fille de Potiphéra, prêtre d'On, lui enfanta.
21 And sons of Benjamin: Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.
Fils de Benjamin: Bela, Becher, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim et Ard.
22 These [are] sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob; all the persons [are] fourteen.
Voici les fils de Rachel, qui naquirent à Jacob: tous avaient quatorze âmes.
23 And sons of Dan: Hushim.
Fils de Dan: Huschim.
24 And sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem.
Fils de Nephtali: Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer et Shillem.
25 These [are] sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to his daughter Rachel; and she bears these to Jacob—all the persons [are] seven.
Voici les fils de Bilha, que Laban donna à Rachel, sa fille, et qu'elle enfanta à Jacob: tous ceux-là étaient sept.
26 All the persons who are coming to Jacob to Egypt, coming out of his thigh, apart from the wives of Jacob’s sons, all the persons [are] sixty-six.
Toutes les âmes qui vinrent avec Jacob en Égypte, qui étaient sa descendance directe, en plus des femmes des fils de Jacob, toutes les âmes étaient soixante-six.
27 And the sons of Joseph who have been born to him in Egypt [are] two persons. All the persons of the house of Jacob who are coming into Egypt [are] seventy.
Les fils de Joseph, qui lui étaient nés en Égypte, étaient au nombre de deux. Toutes les âmes de la maison de Jacob, qui vinrent en Égypte, étaient au nombre de soixante-dix.
28 And Judah he has sent before him to Joseph, to direct before him to Goshen, and they come into the land of Goshen;
Jacob envoya Juda devant lui à Joseph, pour lui montrer le chemin de Gosen, et ils arrivèrent dans le pays de Gosen.
29 and Joseph harnesses his chariot, and goes up to meet his father Israel, to Goshen, and appears to him, and falls on his neck, and weeps on his neck again;
Joseph prépara son char, et monta à la rencontre d'Israël, son père, en Gosen. Il se présenta à lui, se jeta à son cou, et pleura longtemps sur son cou.
30 and Israel says to Joseph, “Let me die this time, after my seeing your face, for you [are] yet alive.”
Israël dit à Joseph: « Maintenant, laisse-moi mourir, puisque j'ai vu ton visage et que tu vis encore. »
31 And Joseph says to his brothers, and to the house of his father, “I go up, and declare to Pharaoh, and say to him, My brothers, and the house of my father who [are] in the land of Canaan have come to me;
Joseph dit à ses frères et à la maison de son père: « Je vais monter et parler à Pharaon, et je lui dirai: « Mes frères et la maison de mon père, qui étaient au pays de Canaan, sont venus vers moi.
32 and the men [are] feeders of a flock, for they have been men of livestock; and their flock, and their herd, and all that they have, they have brought.
Ces hommes sont des bergers, car ils ont gardé du bétail, et ils ont amené leurs troupeaux, leurs bêtes, et tout ce qu'ils ont.
33 And it has come to pass, when Pharaoh calls for you and has said, What [are] your works?
Lorsque Pharaon vous convoquera et dira: « Quelle est votre profession?
34 That you have said, Your servants have been men of livestock from our youth, even until now, both we and our fathers, in order that you may dwell in the land of Goshen, for the abomination of the Egyptians is everyone feeding a flock.”
vous répondrez: « Tes serviteurs ont gardé le bétail depuis notre jeunesse jusqu'à ce jour, nous et nos pères, et vous pourrez habiter dans le pays de Gosen, car tout berger est en abomination aux Égyptiens ».
