< Genesis 46 >

1 And Israel journeys, and all that he has, and comes to Beer-Sheba, and sacrifices sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac;

2 and God speaks to Israel in visions of the night and says, “Jacob, Jacob”; and he says, “Here I [am].”

3 And He says, “I [am] God, God of your father, do not be afraid of going down to Egypt, for I set you there for a great nation;

5 And Jacob rises from Beer-Sheba, and the sons of Israel carry away their father Jacob, and their infants, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh has sent to carry him,

6 and they take their livestock, and their goods which they have acquired in the land of Canaan, and come into Egypt—Jacob, and all his seed with him,

7 his sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, indeed, all his seed he brought with him into Egypt.
Ndiye kuti popita ku Igupto Yakobo anatenga ana aamuna, zidzukulu zazimuna, ana aakazi ndi zidzukulu zazikazi.
8 And these [are] the names of the sons of Israel who are coming into Egypt: Jacob and his sons, Jacob’s firstborn, Reuben.
Nawa ana a Israeli (ndiye kuti Yakobo ndi ana ake) amene anapita ku Igupto: Rubeni mwana woyamba wa Yakobo.
9 And sons of Reuben: Enoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.
Ana aamuna a Rubeni ndi awa: Hanoki, Palu, Hezironi ndi Karimi.
10 And sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul son of the Canaanite.
Ana aamuna a Simeoni ndi awa: Yemueli, Yamini, Ohadi, Yakini, Zohari ndi Shaulo amene mayi wake anali wa ku Kanaani.
11 And sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
Ana aamuna a Levi ndi awa: Geresoni, Kohati ndi Merari.
12 And sons of Judah: Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Perez, and Zerah (and Er and Onan die in the land of Canaan). And sons of Perez are Hezron and Hamul.
Ana aamuna a Yuda ndi awa: Eri, Onani, Sela, Perezi ndi Zera. Koma Eri ndi Onani anamwalira mʼdziko la Kanaani. Ana a Perezi anali Hezironi ndi Hamuli.
13 And sons of Issachar: Tola, and Phuvah, and Job, and Shimron.
Ana aamuna a Isakara ndi awa: Tola, Puwa, Yobi ndi Simironi.
14 And sons of Zebulun: Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel.
Ana aamuna a Zebuloni ndi awa: Seredi, Eloni ndi Yahaleeli.
15 These [are] sons of Leah whom she bore to Jacob in Padan-Aram, and his daughter Dinah; all the persons of his sons and his daughters [are] thirty-three.
Amenewa ndi ana aamuna a Leya amene anamubalira Yakobo ku Padanaramu. Panali mwana wamkazi dzina lake Dina. Ana onse analipo 33.
16 And sons of Gad: Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.
Ana aamuna a Gadi ndi awa: Zifioni, Hagi, Suni, Eziboni, Eri, Arodi ndi Areli.
17 And sons of Asher: Jimnah, and Ishuah, and Isui, and Beriah, and their sister Serah. And sons of Beriah: Heber and Malchiel.
Ana aamuna a Aseri ndi awa: Imuna, Isiva, Isivi, Beriya ndi Sera mlongo wawo. Ana aamuna a Beriya ndi awa: Heberi ndi Malikieli.
18 These [are] sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to his daughter Leah, and she bears these to Jacob—sixteen persons.
Amenewa ndi zidzukulu za Yakobo mwa Zilipa amene Labani anapereka kwa mwana wake, Leya. Onse pamodzi analipo 16.
19 Sons of Rachel, Jacob’s wife: Joseph and Benjamin.
Ana aamuna a Rakele mkazi wa Yakobo anali: Yosefe ndi Benjamini.
20 And born to Joseph in the land of Egypt (whom Asenath daughter of Poti-Pherah, priest of On, has borne to him) [are] Manasseh and Ephraim.
Ku Igupto, Asenati mwana wa Potifara wansembe wa Oni, anamuberekera Yosefe ana awa: Manase ndi Efereimu.
21 And sons of Benjamin: Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.
Ana aamuna a Benjamini ndi awa: Bela, Bekeri, Asibeli, Gera, Naamani, Ehi, Rosi, Mupimu, Hupimu ndi Aridi.
22 These [are] sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob; all the persons [are] fourteen.
Amenewa ndi zidzukulu za Yakobo mwa mkazi wake Rakele. Onse analipo khumi ndi anayi.
23 And sons of Dan: Hushim.
Mwana wa mwamuna wa Dani anali: Husimu.
24 And sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem.
Ana aamuna a Nafutali ndi awa: Yahazeeli, Guni, Yezeri ndi Silemu.
25 These [are] sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to his daughter Rachel; and she bears these to Jacob—all the persons [are] seven.
Amenewa ndi zidzukulu za Yakobo mwa Biliha amene Labani anapereka kwa mwana wake Rakele. Onse pamodzi analipo asanu ndi awiri.
26 All the persons who are coming to Jacob to Egypt, coming out of his thigh, apart from the wives of Jacob’s sons, all the persons [are] sixty-six.
Onse amene anapita ndi Yakobo (iwo amene anali akeake, osawerengera akazi a ana ake), analipo 66.
27 And the sons of Joseph who have been born to him in Egypt [are] two persons. All the persons of the house of Jacob who are coming into Egypt [are] seventy.
Pophatikiza ana awiri a Yosefe obadwira ku Igupto, anthu a pa banja la Yakobo amene anapita ku Igupto, onse pamodzi analipo 70.
28 And Judah he has sent before him to Joseph, to direct before him to Goshen, and they come into the land of Goshen;
Tsopano Yakobo anatumiza Yuda kwa Yosefe kukamupempha kuti akakumane naye ku Goseni. Iwo atafika ku chigawo cha Goseni,
29 and Joseph harnesses his chariot, and goes up to meet his father Israel, to Goshen, and appears to him, and falls on his neck, and weeps on his neck again;
Yosefe anakonza galeta nakwerapo ndi kupita ku Goseni kukakumana ndi abambo ake, Israeli. Yosefe atangofika pamaso pa abambo ake, anawakumbatira nalira kwa nthawi yayitali.
30 and Israel says to Joseph, “Let me die this time, after my seeing your face, for you [are] yet alive.”
Israeli anati kwa Yosefe, “Tsopano ndikhoza kumwalira poti ndaona nkhope yako kuti ukanali ndi moyo.”
31 And Joseph says to his brothers, and to the house of his father, “I go up, and declare to Pharaoh, and say to him, My brothers, and the house of my father who [are] in the land of Canaan have come to me;
Ndipo Yosefe anati kwa abale ake pamodzi ndi a pa banja la abambo ake, “Ndipita kwa Farao ndipo ndikamuwuza kuti, ‘Abale anga pamodzi ndi onse a mʼnyumba ya abambo anga amene amakhala mʼdziko la Kanaani abwera kuno kwa ine.
32 and the men [are] feeders of a flock, for they have been men of livestock; and their flock, and their herd, and all that they have, they have brought.
Anthuwa ndi abusa; amaweta ziweto zawo ndipo abwera ndi nkhosa ndi ngʼombe zawo, pamodzi ndi antchito awo.’
33 And it has come to pass, when Pharaoh calls for you and has said, What [are] your works?
Tsono Farao akakuyitanani nakufunsani kuti, ‘Kodi mumagwira ntchito yanji?’
34 That you have said, Your servants have been men of livestock from our youth, even until now, both we and our fathers, in order that you may dwell in the land of Goshen, for the abomination of the Egyptians is everyone feeding a flock.”
Muyankhe kuti, ‘Ife, bwana ndife oweta ziweto kuyambira ubwana wathu mpaka tsopano. Takhala tikuweta ziweto monga mmene ankachitira makolo athu.’ Mukadzayankha choncho, ndiye kuti mudzakhala mʼdziko la Goseni chifukwa anthu a ku Igupto amanyansidwa nawo anthu oweta ziweto.”
