Genesis 43
1 And the famine [is] severe in the land;
೧ಕಾನಾನ್ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರವು ಬಹು ಘೋರವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
2 and it comes to pass, when they have finished eating the grain which they brought from Egypt, that their father says to them, “Return, buy for us a little food.”
೨ಅವರು ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ತಂದಿದ್ದ ದವಸಧಾನ್ಯವು ಮುಗಿದ ನಂತರ ಅವರ ತಂದೆಯು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಪುನಃ ಹೋಗಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಧಾನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಖರೀದಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬನ್ನಿರಿ” ಎಂದನು.
3 And Judah speaks to him, saying, “The man protesting protested to us, saying, You do not see my face without your brother [being] with you;
೩ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೂದನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ, “ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ನಮಗೆ ‘ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮನನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದ ಹೊರತು ನನ್ನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ನೋಡಬಾರದು’ ಎಂದು ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ” ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
4 if you are sending our brother with us, we go down, and buy for you food,
೪ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮನನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರೆ ನಾವು ಹೋಗಿ, ನಿನಗೆ ಧಾನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಖರೀದಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ತರುತ್ತೇವೆ.
5 and if you are not sending—we do not go down, for the man said to us, You do not see my face without your brother [being] with you.”
೫ಅವನನ್ನು ನೀನು ಕಳುಹಿಸದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ನಾವು ಹೋಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಆ “ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ನೋಡಬಾರದು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
6 And Israel says, “Why did you do evil to me, by declaring to the man that you had yet a brother?”
೬ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನು, “ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬ ತಮ್ಮನಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ, ನೀವು ಯಾಕೆ ನನಗೆ ಕೇಡು ಮಾಡಿದಿರಿ?” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
7 And they say, “The man asked diligently concerning us, and concerning our family, saying, Is your father yet alive? Have you a brother? And we declare to him according to the tenor of these things; do we certainly know that he will say, Bring down your brother?”
೭ಅವರು, “ನಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯವರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮವಾಗಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದನು, ಮತ್ತೆ ಅವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯು ಇನ್ನೂ ಬದುಕಿದ್ದಾನೋ? ನಿಮಗೆ ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬ ತಮ್ಮನಿದ್ದಾನೋ? ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಆ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ನಾವು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟೆವು. ಅವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮನನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬನ್ನಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವನೆಂದು ನಮಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದು” ಎಂದರು.
8 And Judah says to his father Israel, “Send the youth with me, and we arise, and go, and live, and do not die, both we, and you, and our infants.
೮ಆಗ ಯೆಹೂದನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನಿಗೆ, “ಆ ಹುಡುಗನನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಡು, ನಾವು ಹೋಗುವೆವು. ಆಗ ನೀನೂ, ನಾವು ಮತ್ತು ನಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಸಾಯದೆ ಬದುಕುವೆವು.
9 I am guarantor [for] him, from my hand you require him; if I have not brought him to you, and set him before you—then I have sinned against you all the days;
೯ನಾನು ಅವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಹೊಣೆಯಾಗಿರುವೆನು. ಅವನ ವಿಷಯ ನನ್ನನ್ನೇ ಕೇಳಬಹುದು. ನಾನು ಅವನನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ನಿನ್ನೆದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಆ ಅಪರಾಧ ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರಲಿ.
10 for if we had not lingered, surely now we had returned these two times.”
೧೦ನಾವು ತಡಮಾಡದೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಇಷ್ಟರೊಳಗೆ ಎರಡನೆಯ ಸಾರಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆವು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
11 And their father Israel says to them, “If so, now, do this: take of the praised thing of the land in your vessels, and take down to the man a present, a little balm, and a little honey, spices and myrrh, nuts and almonds;
೧೧ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಹಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ನೀವು ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಿರಿ. ಈ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ದೊರಕುವ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾದ ವಸ್ತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಚೀಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿರಿ. ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ತೈಲ, ಜೇನು, ಸುಗಂಧದ್ರವ್ಯ, ಕಾಕಂಬಿ, ಹಾಲುಮಡ್ಡಿ, ರಕ್ತಬೋಳ, ಗೋಡಂಬಿ, ಬಾದಾಮಿ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿರಿ.
12 and double money take in your hand, even the money which is brought back in the mouth of your bags, you take back in your hand, it may be it [is] an oversight.
೧೨ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಎರಡರಷ್ಟು ಹಣವನ್ನು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿರಿ. ಅವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಚೀಲಗಳ ಬಾಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿ ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಹಣವನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿರಿ. ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಅದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಇದ್ದಿರಬಹುದು.
13 And take your brother, and rise, return to the man;
೧೩ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮನನ್ನೂ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ತಿರುಗಿ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿರಿ.
14 and God Almighty give to you mercies before the man, so that he has sent to you your other brother and Benjamin; and I, when I am bereaved—I am bereaved.”
೧೪ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬ ಅಣ್ಣನನ್ನೂ, ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನನನ್ನೂ ನಿಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಡುವಂತೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಕರುಣೆ ತೋರುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಲಿ. ನಾನಂತೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡವನಾಗಿರಬೇಕು ಎಂದರೆ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಆಗಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
15 And the men take this present, double money also they have taken in their hand, and Benjamin; and they rise, and go down to Egypt, and stand before Joseph;
೧೫ಆಗ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು, ಎರಡರಷ್ಟು ಹಣವನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನನನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಎದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡರು.
16 and Joseph sees Benjamin with them and says to him who [is] over his house, “Bring the men into the house, and slaughter an animal, and make ready, for the men eat with me at noon.”
೧೬ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನನು ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವುದನ್ನು ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಕಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಗೃಹನಿರ್ವಾಹಕನನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ, “ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗು, ಒಳ್ಳೆ ಕೊಬ್ಬಿದ ಪಶುವನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ದು ಅಡುಗೆ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಊಟ ಮಾಡುವರು” ಎಂದು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
17 And the man does as Joseph has said, and the man brings in the men into the house of Joseph,
೧೭ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಗೃಹನಿರ್ವಾಹಕನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದನು.
18 and the men are afraid because they have been brought into the house of Joseph, and they say, “For the matter of the money which was put back in our bags at the commencement are we brought in—to roll himself on us, and to throw himself on us, and to take us for servants—our donkeys also.”
೧೮ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಕರೆತಂದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು, “ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ಸಾರಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಚೀಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದ ಹಣದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವೇ ಅವನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಕರೆಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಫಕ್ಕನೆ ಬಿದ್ದು, ನಮ್ಮನ್ನೂ, ನಮ್ಮ ಕತ್ತೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ದಾಸರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಕರೆಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡರು.
19 And they come near to the man who [is] over the house of Joseph, and speak to him at the opening of the house,
೧೯ಆಗ ಅವರು ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಗೃಹನಿರ್ವಾಹಕನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಮನೆಯ ಬಾಗಿಲ ಬಳಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ,
20 and say, “O my lord, we really come down at the commencement to buy food;
೨೦“ಅಯ್ಯಾ, ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ಸಾರಿ ನಾವು ಆಹಾರ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇವು.
21 and it comes to pass, when we have come to the lodging-place, and open our bags, that behold, each one’s money [is] in the mouth of his bag, our money in its weight, and we bring it back in our hand;
೨೧ನಾವು ಹೊರಟುಹೋದ ನಂತರ ಇಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಚೀಲಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಚ್ಚಿ ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನ ಹಣವು ತೂಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಏನೂ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ನಮ್ಮ ನಮ್ಮ ಚೀಲದಲ್ಲೇ ಇತ್ತು. ಅದನ್ನು ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿಸಲು ತಂದಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
22 and other money have we brought down in our hand to buy food; we have not known who put our money in our bags.”
೨೨ದವಸವನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇರೆ ಹಣವನ್ನೂ ತಂದಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಆ ಹಣವನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಚೀಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರು ಇಟ್ಟರೋ ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
23 And he says, “Peace to you, do not fear: your God and the God of your father has given to you hidden treasure in your bags, your money came to me”; and he brings out Simeon to them.
೨೩ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು, “ನೀವು ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿರಿ. ನೀವೇನೂ ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡಿರಿ ನಿಮಗೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಗೂ ದೇವರಾಗಿರುವಾತನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಚೀಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟಿರಬೇಕು. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹಣವು ನನಗೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಿತು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ, ಅವನು ಸಿಮೆಯೋನನನ್ನು ಅವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದನು.
24 And the man brings in the men into Joseph’s house, and gives water, and they wash their feet; and he gives provender for their donkeys,
೨೪ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದನು. ಕಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಳೆಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕೊಡಿಸಿ, ಅವರ ಕತ್ತೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಮೇವು ಹಾಕಿಸಿದನು.
25 and they prepare the present until the coming of Joseph at noon, for they have heard that there they eat bread.
೨೫ತಾವು ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಊಟ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಅವರು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ತಾವು ತಂದಿದ್ದ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಯೋಸೇಫನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಲು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
26 And Joseph comes into the house, and they bring to him the present which [is] in their hand, into the house, and bow themselves to him, to the earth;
೨೬ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ತಂದು, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಅವನ ಮುಂದೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದರು.
27 and he asks of them of peace and says, “Is your father well? The aged man of whom you have spoken, is he yet alive?”
೨೭ಅವನು ಅವರ ಯೋಗ ಕ್ಷೇಮವನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ನೀವು ಹೇಳಿದ, ಮುದುಕನಾಗಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆ ಕ್ಷೇಮವೋ? ಅವನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಬದುಕಿದ್ದಾನೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
28 And they say, “Your servant our father [is] well, he is yet alive”; and they bow, and pay respect.
೨೮ಅವರು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ನಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆ ಕ್ಷೇಮವಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅವನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಬದುಕಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ, ತಮ್ಮ ತಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಾಗಿಸಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದರು.
29 And he lifts up his eyes and sees his brother Benjamin, his mother’s son, and says, “Is this your young brother, of whom you have spoken to me?” And he says, “God favor you, my son.”
೨೯ಆಗ ಅವನು ಕಣ್ಣೆತ್ತಿ ತನ್ನ ಒಡಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ತಮ್ಮನಾದ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ, “ನೀವು ಹೇಳಿದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಿರಿಯ ತಮ್ಮನು ಇವನೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಮಗನೇ, ದೇವರ ದಯೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
30 And Joseph hurries, for his bowels have been moved for his brother, and he seeks to weep, and enters the inner chamber, and weeps there;
೩೦ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಅವಸರವಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದು ತನ್ನ ಕೋಣೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಹೋದನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ತನ್ನ ಕರಳು ತಮ್ಮನ ಮೇಲೆ ಮರುಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಕೋಣೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ತನು.
31 and he washes his face, and goes out, and refrains himself, and says, “Place bread.”
೩೧ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ತೊಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದು, ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಬಿಗಿ ಹಿಡಿದು, “ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಡಿಸಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
32 And they place for him by himself, and for them by themselves, and for the Egyptians who are eating with him by themselves: for the Egyptians are unable to eat bread with the Hebrews, for it [is] an abomination to the Egyptians.
೩೨ಪರಿಚಾರಕರು ಅವನಿಗೂ ಅವನ ಅಣ್ಣತಮ್ಮಂದಿರಿಗೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡವಿದ್ದ ಐಗುಪ್ತರಿಗೂ ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆಯಾಗಿ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಡಿಸಿದರು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಐಗುಪ್ತರು ಇಬ್ರಿಯರ ಜೊತೆ ಸಹಪಂಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಊಟಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದು ಐಗುಪ್ತರಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
33 And they sit before him, the firstborn according to his birthright, and the young one according to his youth, and the men wonder one at another;
೩೩ಯೋಸೇಫನು ತನ್ನ ಅಣ್ಣತಮ್ಮಂದಿರನ್ನು ಹಿರಿಯವನು ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಕಿರಿಯವನವರೆಗೂ ಅವರವರ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
34 and he lifts up gifts from before him to them, and the gift of Benjamin is five hands more than the gifts of all of them; and they drink, indeed, they drink abundantly with him.
