< Genesis 36 >
1 And these [are] the generations of Esau, who [is] Edom.
Bino bye bifa ku b’olulyo lwa Esawu, ye Edomu.
2 Esau has taken his wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah daughter of Anah, daughter of Zibeon the Hivite,
Esawu yawasa abakazi ng’abaggya mu Bakanani: Yawasa Ada muwala wa Eroni Omukiiti, ne Okolibama muwala wa Ana mutabani wa Zibyoni Omukiivi,
3 and Bashemath daughter of Ishmael, sister of Nebajoth.

4 And Adah bears to Esau, Eliphaz; and Bashemath has borne Reuel;
Ada n’azaalira Esawu Erifaazi, ne Basimansi n’azaala Leweri;
5 and Aholibamah has borne Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah. These [are] sons of Esau, who were born to him in the land of Canaan.
ne Okolibama n’azaala Yewusi, ne Yalamu ne Koola; abo be batabani ba Esawu abaamuzaalirwa mu nsi ya Kanani.
6 And Esau takes his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his livestock, and all his beasts, and all his substance which he has acquired in the land of Canaan, and goes into the country from the face of his brother Jacob;
Awo Esawu n’atwala bakazi be, ne batabani be, ne bawala be n’abantu be bonna, n’ente ze, awamu n’ebintu bye byonna bye yafuna mu nsi ya Kanani; n’agenda mu nsi ey’ewala ku ya muganda we Yakobo.
7 for their substance was more abundant than to dwell together, and the land of their sojournings was not able to bear them because of their livestock;

8 and Esau dwells in Mount Seir: Esau is Edom.
Olwo ye Esawu, era ye Edomu, n’abeera mu nsi ey’ensozi za Seyiri.
9 And these [are] the generations of Esau, father of Edom, in Mount Seir.
Bino bye bifa ku b’olulyo lwa Esawu, kitaawe w’Abaedomu abaamuzaalirwa ng’ali mu nsi y’ensozi za Seyiri.
10 These [are] the names of the sons of Esau: Eliphaz son of Adah, wife of Esau; Reuel son of Bashemath, wife of Esau.
Batabani be baali: Erifaazi eyamuzaalirwa Ada, ne Leweri eyamuzaalirwa Basimansi.
11 And the sons of Eliphaz are Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz;

12 and Timnath has been concubine to Eliphaz son of Esau, and she bears to Eliphaz, Amalek; these [are] sons of Adah wife of Esau.
Timuna yali mukazi wa Erifaazi, mutabani wa Esawu era yamuzaalira Ameleki. Abo be batabani ba Ada mukazi wa Esawu.
13 And these [are] sons of Reuel: Nahath and Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah; these were sons of Bashemath wife of Esau.
Bano be batabani ba Leweri: Nakasi, ne Zeera, ne Saama ne Mizza. Abo be bazzukulu ba Esawu ne mukazi we Basemasi.
14 And these have been the sons of Aholibamah daughter of Anah, daughter of Zibeon, wife of Esau; and she bears to Esau, Jeush and Jaalam and Korah.
N’abaana ba Okolibama muwala wa Ana, muzzukulu wa Zibyoni, baali Yewusi, ne Yalamu ne Koola, be yazaalira bba Esawu.
15 These [are] chiefs of the sons of Esau: sons of Eliphaz, firstborn of Esau: Chief Teman, Chief Omar, Chief Zepho, Chief Kenaz,

16 Chief Korah, Chief Gatam, Chief Amalek; these [are] chiefs of Eliphaz, in the land of Edom; these [are] sons of Adah.

17 And these [are] sons of Reuel son of Esau: Chief Nahath, Chief Zerah, Chief Shammah, Chief Mizzah; these [are] chiefs of Reuel, in the land of Edom; these [are] sons of Bashemath wife of Esau.

18 And these [are] sons of Aholibamah wife of Esau: Chief Jeush, Chief Jaalam, Chief Korah; these [are] chiefs of Aholibamah daughter of Anah, wife of Esau.
Abaazaalibwa Okolibama mukazi wa Esawu, muwala wa Ana: Yewusi, ne Yalamu ne Koola.
19 These [are] sons of Esau (who [is] Edom), and these their chiefs.

20 These [are] sons of Seir the Horite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah,
Batabani ba Seyiri Omukooli abaabeeranga mu Edomu be ba Lotani, ne Sobali, ne Zibyoni, ne Ana,
21 and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan; these [are] chiefs of the Horites, sons of Seir, in the land of Edom.

22 And the sons of Lotan are Hori and Heman; and a sister of Lotan [is] Timna.

23 And these [are] sons of Shobal: Alvan and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho and Onam.

24 And these [are] sons of Zibeon, both Ajah and Anah: it [is] Anah that has found the Imim in the wilderness, in his feeding the donkeys of his father Zibeon.

25 And these [are] sons of Anah: Dishon, and Aholibamah daughter of Anah.

26 And these [are] sons of Dishon: Hemdan, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.
Bo batabani ba Disoni be ba Kemudaani, ne Esubani, ne Isulani ne Kerani.
27 These [are] sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Akan.
Aba Ezeri be ba Birani, ne Zaavani ne Akani.
28 These [are] sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.
Ate aba Disani be ba Uzi ne Alani.
29 These [are] chiefs of the Horite: Chief Lotan, Chief Shobal, Chief Zibeon, Chief Anah,
Bano be bakulu b’enda za Bakooli: Lotani, ne Sobali, ne Zibyoni, ne Ana,
30 Chief Dishon, Chief Ezer, Chief Dishan: these [are] chiefs of the Horite in reference to their chiefs in the land of Seir.

31 And these [are] the kings who have reigned in the land of Edom before the reigning of a king over the sons of Israel.

32 And Bela son of Beor reigns in Edom, and the name of his city [is] Dinhabah;
Bera mutabani wa Byori yafuga Edomu ng’asinziira mu kibuga kye Dinukaba.
33 and Bela dies, and Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah reigns in his stead;
Bera bwe yafa Yobabu mutabani wa Zeera ow’e Bozula n’afuga mu kifo kye.
34 and Jobab dies, and Husham from the land of the Temanite reigns in his stead.
Yobabu bwe yafa Kusamu Omutemani n’afuga mu kifo kye.
35 And Husham dies, and Hadad son of Bedad reigns in his stead (who strikes Midian in the field of Moab), and the name of his city [is] Avith;
Ne Kusamu bwe yafa, Kadadi mutabani wa Bedadi, eyawangula Midiyaani, mu nsi ya Mowaabu n’afuga mu kifo kye; ng’afugira mu kibuga ky’e Avisi.
36 and Hadad dies, and Samlah of Masrekah reigns in his stead;

37 and Samlah dies, and Saul from Rehoboth of the River reigns in his stead;
Samula bwe yafa Sawuli ow’e Lekobosi, ku mugga Fulaati n’afuga mu kifo kye.
38 and Saul dies, and Ba‘al-hanan son of Achbor reigns in his stead;
Sawuli bwe yafa, Baalukanani mutabani wa Akubooli n’afuga mu kifo kye.
39 and Ba‘al-hanan son of Achbor dies, and Hadar reigns in his stead, and the name of his city [is] Pau; and his wife’s name [is] Mehetabel daughter of Matred, daughter of Me-zahab.
Ate Balukanani mutabani wa Akubooli bwe yafa, Kadali n’afuga mu kifo kye, ng’ali mu kibuga kye Pawu; mukazi we yayitibwanga Meketaberu muwala wa Mezakabu ne Matirida.
40 And these [are] the names of the chiefs of Esau, according to their families, according to their places, by their names: Chief Timnah, Chief Alvah, Chief Jetheth,

41 Chief Aholibamah, Chief Elah, Chief Pinon,

ne Kenazi, ne Temani, ne Mibuza,
43 Chief Magdiel, Chief Iram: these [are] chiefs of Edom, in reference to their dwellings, in the land of their possession; he [is] Esau father of Edom.
ne Magidiyeri, ne Iramu. Abo be bakulu b’enda ya Edomu, ye Esawu kitaawe wa Edomu, okusinziira mu bifo mwe baali mu nsi y’obutaka bwabwe.
