< Genesis 33 >

1 And Jacob lifts up his eyes, and looks, and behold, Esau is coming, and with him four hundred men; and he divides the children to Leah, and to Rachel, and to the two maidservants;
And he lifted up Jacob eyes his and he saw and there! Esau [was] coming and [were] with him four hundred man and he divided the children with Leah and with Rachel and with [the] two the maidservants.
2 and he sets the maidservants and their children first, and Leah and her children behind, and Rachel and Joseph last.
And he put the maidservants and children their first and Leah and children her behind and Rachel and Joseph behind.
3 And he himself passed over before them, and bows himself to the earth seven times, until his drawing near to his brother,
And he he passed on before them and he bowed down [the] ground towards seven times until drew near he to brother his.
4 and Esau runs to meet him, and embraces him, and falls on his neck, and kisses him, and they weep;
And he ran Esau to meet him and he embraced him and he fell on (neck his *Q(k)*) and he kissed him and they wept.
5 and he lifts up his eyes, and sees the women and the children, and says, “What [are] these to you?” And he says, “The children with whom God has favored your servant.”
And he lifted up eyes his and he saw the women and the children and he said who? [are] these to you and he said the children whom he has shown favor to God servant your.
6 And the maidservants draw near, they and their children, and bow themselves;
And they approached the maidservants they and children their and they bowed down.
7 and Leah also draws near, and her children, and they bow themselves; and afterward Joseph has drawn near with Rachel, and they bow themselves.
And she approached also Leah and children her and they bowed down and after he approached Joseph and Rachel and they bowed down.
8 And he says, “What to you [is] all this camp which I have met?” And he says, “To find grace in the eyes of my lord.”
And he said who? to you [is] all the camp this which I have met and he said to find favor in [the] eyes of lord my.
9 And Esau says, “I have abundance, my brother, that which you have, let it be for yourself.”
And he said Esau there [belongs] to me much O brother my let it be[long] to you [that] which [belongs] to you.
10 And Jacob says, “No, please, now if I have found grace in your eyes, then you have received my present from my hand, because that I have seen your face, as the seeing of the face of God, and you are pleased with me;
And he said Jacob may not [it be] please if please I have found favor in view your and you will accept gift my from hand my for since I have seen face your like seeing [the] face of God and you have accepted favorably me.
11 please receive my blessing which is brought to you, because God has favored me, and because I have all [things]”; and he presses on him, and he receives [it],
Take please blessing my which it was brought to you for he has shown favor to me God and that there [belongs] to me everything and he urged him and he took [it].
12 and says, “Let us journey and go on, and I go on before you.”
And he said let us set out and let us go and I will go to before you.
13 And he says to him, “My lord knows that the children [are] tender, and the suckling flock and the herd [are] with me; when they have beaten them one day, then all the flock has died.
And he said to him lord my [is] knowing that the children [are] weak and the sheep and the cattle [are] nursing with me and people will drive hard them a day one and they will die all the flock.
14 Please let my lord pass over before his servant, and I lead on gently, according to the foot of the work which [is] before me, and to the foot of the children, until I come to my lord, to Seir.”
Let him pass on please lord my before servant his and I (I will journey on *LBH(a)*) to gentleness my to [the] foot of the property which [is] before me and to [the] foot of the children until that I will come to lord my Seir towards.
15 And Esau says, “Please let me place with you some of the people who [are] with me”; and he said, “Why [is] this? I find grace in the eyes of my lord.”
And he said Esau let me place please with you some of the people which [is] with me and he said why? this let me find favor in [the] eyes of lord my.
16 And Esau turns back on that day on his way to Seir;
And he returned on the day that Esau to way his Seir towards.
17 and Jacob has journeyed to Succoth, and builds a house for himself, and has made shelters for his livestock, therefore he has called the name of the place Succoth.
And Jacob he set out Succoth towards and he built for himself a house and for livestock his he made shelters there-fore he called [the] name of the place Succoth.
18 And Jacob comes safe [to the] city of Shechem, which [is] in the land of Canaan, in his coming from Padan-Aram, and encamps before the city,
And he came Jacob safe [the] city of Shechem which [is] in [the] land of Canaan when came he from Paddan Aram and he camped with [the] face of the city.
19 and he buys the portion of the field where he has stretched out his tent, from the hand of the sons of Hamor, father of Shechem, for one hundred kesitah;
And he bought [the] portion of the field where he had pitched there tent his from [the] hand of [the] sons of Hamor [the] father of Shechem for a hundred piece[s] of money.
20 and he sets up there an altar, and proclaims at it God—the God of Israel.
And he set up there an altar and he called it El Elohe Israel.
