< Genesis 21 >
1 And YHWH has looked after Sarah as He has said, and YHWH does to Sarah as He has spoken;
Yehova anakomera mtima Sara monga ananenera, ndipo Yehovayo anachita monga momwe analonjezera.
2 and Sarah conceives, and bears a son to Abraham, to his old age, at the appointed time that God has spoken of with him;
Sara anakhala ndi pathupi ndipo anamuberekera Abrahamu mwana wamwamuna mu ukalamba wake, pa nyengo imene Mulungu anamulonjeza.
3 and Abraham calls the name of his son who is born to him, whom Sarah has borne to him—Isaac;
Abrahamu anapereka dzina loti Isake kwa mwana wamwamuna amene Sara anamuberekera.
4 and Abraham circumcises his son Isaac, [being] a son of eight days, as God has commanded him.
Isake atakwanitsa masiku asanu ndi atatu, Abrahamu anamuchita mdulidwe monga Mulungu anamulamulira.
5 And Abraham [is] a son of one hundred years in his son Isaac being born to him,
Abrahamu anali ndi 100 pamene mwana wake Isake anabadwa.
6 and Sarah says, “God has made laughter for me; everyone who is hearing laughs for me.”
Sara anati, “Mulungu wandibweretsera mseko, ndipo aliyense amene adzamva zimenezi adzaseka nane pamodzi.”
7 She also says, “Who has said to Abraham, Sarah has suckled sons, that I have born a son for his old age?”
Ndipo anawonjezera kuti, “Ndani akanamuwuza Abrahamu kuti Sara nʼkudzayamwitsako ana? Chonsecho ndamubalira mwana wamwamuna kuwukalamba wake.”
8 And the boy grows, and is weaned, and Abraham makes a great banquet in the day of Isaac’s being weaned;
Mwana uja anakula mpaka kumuletsa kuyamwa. Tsiku lomuletsa Isake kuyamwa, Abrahamu anakonza phwando lalikulu.
9 and Sarah sees the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she has borne to Abraham, mocking,
Koma Sara anaona kuti mwana wamwamuna amene Hagara Mwigupto anamuberekera Abrahamu amamuseka,
10 and she says to Abraham, “Cast out this handmaid and her son; for the son of this handmaid has no possession with my son—with Isaac.”
ndipo anati kwa Abrahamu, “Muchotse mdzakazi ndi mwana wake wamwamunayu, pakuti mwana wa kapolo sadzagawana chuma ndi mwana wanga Isake.”
11 And the thing is very wrong in the eyes of Abraham, for his son’s sake;
Nkhaniyi inamumvetsa chisoni kwambiri Abrahamu chifukwa imakhudza mwana wake.
12 and God says to Abraham, “Let it not be wrong in your eyes because of the youth, and because of your handmaid: all that Sarah says to you—listen to her voice, for in Isaac is a seed called to you.
Koma Mulungu anamuwuza Abrahamu kuti, “Usamve chisoni motero ndi mnyamatayu ndi mdzakazi wakoyu. Mvetsera chilichonse chomwe Sara akukuwuza, chifukwa zidzukulu zako zidzachokera mwa Isake.
13 As for the son of the handmaid also, for a nation I set him, because he [is] your seed.”
Mwana wa mdzakazi wakoyu ndidzamusandutsa mtundu wa anthu chifukwa ndi mwana wako.”
14 And Abraham rises early in the morning, and takes bread, and a bottle of water, and gives to Hagar (placing [it] on her shoulder), also the boy, and sends her out; and she goes on, and goes astray in the wilderness of Beer-Sheba;
Mmamawa wake, Abrahamu anatenga chakudya ndi botolo la madzi nazipereka kwa Hagara. Anasenzetsa Hagara nawaperekeza pangʼono ndi mnyamatayo. Hagara ananyamuka nayendayenda mʼchipululu cha Beeriseba.
15 and the water is consumed from the bottle, and she places the boy under one of the shrubs.
Madzi atatha mʼbotolo muja, anamuyika mnyamatayo pansi pa zitsamba.
16 And she goes and sits by herself opposite [him], far off, about a bow-shot, for she said, “Do not let me look on the death of the boy”; and she sits opposite [him], and lifts up her voice, and weeps.
Kenaka Hagara anachoka nakakhala pansi cha pakatalipo, pafupifupi mamita makumi asanu ndi anayi, popeza mʼmaganizo mwake amati, “Sindingaonerere mwanayu akufa.” Ndipo anakhala pansi cha poteropo nʼkumalira.
17 And God hears the voice of the youth; and the messenger of God calls to Hagar from the heavens and says to her, “What to you, Hagar? Do not fear; for God has listened to the voice of the youth where he [is];
Mulungu anamva mnyamatayo akulira ndipo mngelo wa Mulungu anayankhula kwa Hagara kuchokera kumwamba nati, “Chavuta nʼchiyani Hagara? Usachite mantha; Mulungu wamva kulira kwa mnyamatayo pamene wagonapo.
18 rise, lift up the youth, and lay hold on him with your hand, for I set him for a great nation.”
Munyamule mnyamatayo ndipo umugwire dzanja pakuti ndidzamupanga kukhala mtundu waukulu.”
19 And God opens her eyes, and she sees a well of water, and she goes and fills the bottle [with] water, and causes the youth to drink;
Kenaka Mulungu anatsekula maso a Hagara ndipo anaona chitsime cha madzi. Choncho anapita nadzaza botolo lija ndi madzi ndi kumupatsa mnyamatayo kuti amwe.
20 and God is with the youth, and he grows, and dwells in the wilderness, and is an archer;
Mulungu anali ndi mnyamatayo pamene ankakula. Anakhala ku chipululu nakhala katswiri wolasa uta.
21 and he dwells in the wilderness of Paran, and his mother takes for him a wife from the land of Egypt.
Akukhala ku chipululu cha Parani, mayi ake anamupezera mkazi wochokera ku Igupto.
22 And it comes to pass at that time that Abimelech speaks—Phichol also, head of his host—to Abraham, saying, “God [is] with you in all that you are doing;
Pa nthawiyo, Abimeleki ndi Fikolo wamkulu wankhondo wake anati kwa Abrahamu, “Mulungu ali nawe pa chilichonse umachita.
23 and now, swear to me by God here: you do not lie to me, or to my continuator, or to my successor; according to the kindness which I have done with you—do with me, and with the land in which you have sojourned.”
Tsopano undilumbirire ine pano pamaso pa Mulungu kuti sudzachita mwa chinyengo ndi ine kapena ana anga kapena zidzukulu zanga. Undionetse ine pamodzi ndi dziko limene ukukhalamo ngati mlendo, kukoma mtima kokhala ngati kumene ndinakuonetsa ine.”
24 And Abraham says, “I swear.”
Abrahamu anati, “Ine ndikulumbira.”
25 And Abraham reasoned with Abimelech concerning the matter of a well of water which Abimelech’s servants have violently taken away,
Kenaka Abrahamu anadandaula kwa Abimeleki pa za chitsime chimene antchito a Abimeleki analanda.
26 and Abimelech says, “I have not known who has done this thing, and even you did not declare to me, and I also, I have not heard except today.”
Koma Abimeleki anati, “Ine sindikudziwa amene anachita zimenezi. Iwe sunandiwuze, ndipo ndazimva lero zimenezi.”
27 And Abraham takes sheep and oxen, and gives to Abimelech, and they make, both of them, a covenant;
Choncho Abrahamu anabweretsa nkhosa ndi ngʼombe nazipereka kwa Abimeleki, ndipo anthu awiriwo anachita pangano.
28 and Abraham sets seven lambs of the flock by themselves.
Abrahamu anapatulako ana ankhosa aakazi asanu ndi awiri kuchoka pagulu la nkhosa zina,
29 And Abimelech says to Abraham, “What [are] they—these seven lambs which you have set by themselves?”
ndipo Abimeleki anafunsa Abrahamu, “Kodi tanthauzo lake la ana ankhosa aakazi asanu ndi awiri amene wawapatula pawokhawa nʼchiyani?”
30 And he says, “For—the seven lambs you accept from my hand, so that it becomes a witness for me that I have dug this well”;
Iye anayankha kuti, “Landirani ana ankhosa aakazi kuchokera mʼdzanja langa ngati umboni kuti ndinakumba chitsime ichi.”
31 therefore he has called that place “Beer-Sheba,” for both of them have sworn there.
Kotero malo amenewo anatchedwa Beeriseba, chifukwa anthu awiriwo analumbirirapo malumbiro.
32 And they make a covenant in Beer-Sheba, and Abimelech rises—Phichol also, head of his host—and they return to the land of the Philistines;
Atatha kuchita pangano pa Beeriseba, Abimeleki ndi Fikolo mkulu wankhondo wake anabwerera ku dziko la Afilisti.
33 and [Abraham] plants a tamarisk in Beer-Sheba, and preaches there in the Name of YHWH, the perpetual God;
Abrahamu anadzala mtengo wa bwemba ku Beeriseba, ndipo anapemphera pamenepo mʼdzina la Yehova, Mulungu Wamuyaya.
34 and Abraham sojourns in the land of the Philistines many days.
Ndipo Abrahamu anakhala mʼdziko la Afilisti kwa nthawi yayitali.
