Genesis 18
1 And YHWH appears to him among the oaks of Mamre, and he is sitting at the opening of the tent, about the heat of the day;
Ukázal se pak jemu Hospodin v rovině Mamre; a on seděl u dveří stanu, když veliké horko na den bylo.
2 and he lifts up his eyes and looks, and behold, three men standing by him, and he sees, and runs to meet them from the opening of the tent, and bows himself toward the earth,
A když pozdvihl očí svých, viděl, a aj, tři muži stáli naproti němu. Kteréžto jakž uzřel, běžel jim vstříc ode dveří stanu, a sklonil se až k zemi.
3 and he says, “My Lord, if now I have found grace in Your eyes, please do not pass on from Your servant;
A řekl: Pane můj, jestliže jsem nyní nalezl milost před očima tvýma, prosím, nepomíjej služebníka svého.
4 please let a little water be accepted, and wash Your feet, and recline under the tree;
Přineseno bude trochu vody, a umyjete nohy své, a odpočinete pod stromem.
5 and I bring a piece of bread, and support Your heart; afterward pass on, for therefore You have passed over to Your servant”; and they say, “So may you do as you have spoken.”
Zatím přinesu kus chleba, a posilníte srdce svého; potom půjdete, poněvadž mimo služebníka svého jdete. I řekli: Tak učiň, jakž jsi mluvil.
6 And Abraham hurries toward the tent, to Sarah, and says, “Hurry three measures of flour-meal, knead, and make cakes”;
Tedy pospíšil Abraham do stanu k Sáře, a řekl: Spěšně tři míry mouky bělné zadělej, a napec podpopelných chlebů.
7 and Abraham ran to the herd, and takes a son of the herd, tender and good, and gives to the young man, and he hurries to prepare it;
Abraham pak běžel k stádu; a vzav tele mladé a dobré, dal služebníku, kterýžto pospíšil připraviti je.
8 and he takes butter and milk, and the son of the herd which he has prepared, and sets before them; and he is standing by them under the tree, and they eat.
Potom vzav másla a mléka, i tele, kteréž připravil, položil před ně; sám pak stál při nich pod stromem, i jedli.
9 And they say to him, “Where [is] Sarah your wife?” And he says, “Behold—in the tent”;
Řekli pak jemu: Kde jest Sára manželka tvá? Kterýžto odpověděl: Teď v stanu.
10 and He says, “Returning I return to you, about the time of life, and behold, to Sarah your wife a son.” And Sarah is listening at the opening of the tent, which is behind him;
A řekl: Jistotně se navrátím k tobě vedlé času života, a aj, syna míti bude Sára manželka tvá. Ale Sára poslouchala u dveří stanu, kteréž byly za ním.
11 and Abraham and Sarah [are] aged, entering into days—the way of women has ceased to be to Sarah;
Abraham pak i Sára byli staří a sešlého věku, a přestal byl Sáře běh ženský.
12 and Sarah laughs in her heart, saying, “After I have waxed old have I had pleasure? My lord [is] also old!”
I smála se Sára sama v sobě, řkuci: Teprv když jsem se sstarala, v rozkoše se vydám? A ještě i pán můj se sstaral.
13 And YHWH says to Abraham, “Why [is] this? Sarah has laughed, saying, Is it really true—I bear—and I am aged?
Tedy řekl Hospodin Abrahamovi: Proč jest se smála Sára, řkuci: Zdaliž opravdu ještě roditi budu, a já se sstarala?
14 Is anything too wonderful for YHWH? At the appointed time I return to you, about the time of life, and Sarah has a son.”
Zdaliž co skrytého bude před Hospodinem? K času určitému navrátím se k tobě vedlé času života, a Sára bude míti syna.
15 And Sarah denies, saying, “I did not laugh”; for she has been afraid; and He says, “No, but you did laugh.”
Zapřela pak Sára a řekla: Nesmála jsem se; nebo se bála. I řekl Hospodin: Neníť tak, ale smála jsi se.
16 And the men rise from there, and look on the face of Sodom, and Abraham is going with them to send them away;
Tedy vstavše odtud muži ti, obrátili se k Sodomě; Abraham pak šel s nimi, aby je provodil.
17 and YHWH said, “Am I concealing from Abraham that which I am doing,
A řekl Hospodin: Zdali já zatajím před Abrahamem, což dělati budu?
18 and Abraham certainly becomes a great and mighty nation, and blessed in him have been all nations of the earth?
Poněvadž Abraham jistotně bude v národ veliký a silný, a požehnáni budou v něm všickni národové země.
19 For I have known him, that he commands his children, and his house after him (and they have kept the way of YHWH), to do righteousness and judgment, that YHWH may bring on Abraham that which He has spoken concerning him.”
Nebo znám jej; protož přikáže synům svým a domu svému po sobě, aby ostříhali cesty Hospodinovy, a činili spravedlnost a soud, aťby naplnil Hospodin Abrahamovi, což mu zaslíbil.
20 And YHWH says, “The cry of Sodom and Gomorrah—because great; and their sin—because exceedingly grievous:
I řekl Hospodin: Proto že rozmnožen jest křik Sodomských a Gomorských, a hřích jejich že obtížen jest náramně:
21 I go down now, and see whether according to its cry which is coming to Me they have done completely—and if not—I know”;
Sstoupím již a pohledím, jestliže podle křiku jejich, kterýž přišel ke mně, činili, důjde na ně setření; a pakli toho není, zvím.
22 and the men turn from there, and go toward Sodom; and Abraham is yet standing before YHWH.
A obrátivše se odtud muži, šli do Sodomy; Abraham pak ještě stál před Hospodinem.
23 And Abraham draws near and says, “Do You also consume righteous with wicked?
V tom přistoupiv Abraham, řekl: Zdali také zahladíš spravedlivého s bezbožným?
24 Perhaps there are fifty righteous in the midst of the city; do You also consume, and not bear with the place for the sake of the fifty righteous who [are] in its midst?
Bude-li padesáte spravedlivých v tom městě, zdali předce zahubíš, a neodpustíš místu pro padesáte spravedlivých, kteříž jsou v něm?
25 Far be it from You to do according to this thing, to put to death the righteous with the wicked; that it has been—as the righteous so the wicked—far be it from You; does the Judge of all the earth not do justice?”
Odstup to od tebe, abys takovou věc učiniti měl, abys usmrtil spravedlivého s bezbožným; takť by byl spravedlivý jako bezbožný. Odstup to od tebe; zdaliž soudce vší země neučiní soudu?
26 And YHWH says, “If I find in Sodom fifty righteous in the midst of the city, then have I borne with all the place for their sake.”
I řekl Hospodin: Jestliže naleznu v Sodomě, v městě tom, padesáte spravedlivých, odpustím všemu tomu místu pro ně.
27 And Abraham answers and says, “Now behold, I have willed to speak to the Lord, and I [am] dust and ashes;
A odpovídaje Abraham, řekl: Aj, nyní chtěl bych mluviti ku Pánu svému, ačkoli jsem prach a popel.
28 perhaps there are lacking five of the fifty righteous—do You destroy for five the whole of the city?” And He says, “I do not destroy [it], if I find there forty-five.”
Co pak, nedostane-li se ku padesáti spravedlivým pěti, zdali zkazíš pro těch pět všecko město? I řekl: Nezahladím, jestliže najdu tam čtyřidceti pět.
29 And he adds again to speak to Him and says, “Perhaps there are found there forty?” And He says, “I do not do [it], because of the forty.”
Opět mluvil Abraham a řekl: Snad nalezeno bude tam čtyřidceti? A odpověděl: Neučiním pro těch čtyřidceti.
30 And he says, “Please let it not be displeasing to the Lord, and I speak: perhaps there are found there thirty?” And He says, “I do not do [it], if I find there thirty.”
I řekl Abraham: Prosím, nechť se nehněvá Pán můj, že mluviti budu: Snad se jich nalezne tam třidceti? Odpověděl: Neučiním, jestliže naleznu tam třidceti.
31 And he says, “Now behold, I have willed to speak to the Lord: perhaps there are found there twenty?” And He says, “I do not destroy [it], because of the twenty.”
A opět řekl: Aj, nyní počal jsem mluviti ku Pánu svému: Snad se nalezne tam dvadceti? Odpověděl: Nezahladím i pro těch dvadceti.
32 And he says, “Please let it not be displeasing to the Lord, and I speak only this time: perhaps there are found there ten?” And He says, “I do not destroy [it], because of the ten.”
Řekl ještě: Prosím, ať se nehněvá Pán můj, jestliže jednou ještě mluviti budu: Snad se jich najde tam deset? Odpověděl: Nezahladím i pro těch deset.
33 And YHWH goes on, when He has finished speaking to Abraham, and Abraham has turned back to his place.
I odšel Hospodin, když dokonal řeč k Abrahamovi; Abraham pak navrátil se k místu svému.
