Genesis 17
1 And Abram is a son of ninety-nine years, and YHWH appears to Abram, and says to him, “I [am] God Almighty, habitually walk before Me, and be perfect;
Gdy Abram miał dziewięćdziesiąt dziewięć lat, PAN ukazał się Abramowi i powiedział do niego: Ja [jestem] Bogiem Wszechmogącym. Chodź przed moim obliczem i bądź doskonały.
2 and I give My covenant between Me and you, and multiply you very exceedingly.”
A zawrę moje przymierze między mną a tobą i rozmnożę cię bardzo obficie.
3 And Abram falls on his face, and God speaks with him, saying,
Wtedy Abram upadł na twarz, a Bóg powiedział do niego:
4 “I—behold, My covenant [is] with you, and you have become father of a multitude of nations;
Oto ja [ustanawiam] moje przymierze z tobą i będziesz ojcem wielu narodów.
5 and your name is no longer called Abram, but your name has been Abraham, for father of a multitude of nations have I made you;
Nie będziesz już się nazywał Abram, ale twoje imię będzie Abraham, bo ustanowiłem cię ojcem wielu narodów.
6 and I have made you exceedingly fruitful, and made you become nations, and kings go out from you.
Uczynię cię niezmiernie płodnym i od ciebie wywiodę narody, i od ciebie będą pochodzić królowie.
7 And I have established My covenant between Me and you, and your seed after you, throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant, to become God to you, and to your seed after you;
I utwierdzę moje przymierze między mną a tobą oraz twoim potomstwem po tobie przez wszystkie pokolenia jako wieczne przymierze, abym był ci Bogiem i twemu potomstwu po tobie.
8 and I have given to you, and to your seed after you, the land of your sojournings, the whole land of Canaan, for a continuous possession, and I have become their God.”
Dam tobie i twemu potomstwu po tobie ziemię, w której teraz przebywasz, całą ziemię Kanaan, jako własność na wieki, i będę ich Bogiem.
9 And God says to Abraham, “And you keep My covenant, you and your seed after you, throughout their generations;
Potem Bóg powiedział Abrahamowi: Ty zaś zachowuj moje przymierze, ty i twoje potomstwo po tobie przez wszystkie pokolenia.
10 this [is] My covenant which you keep between Me and you, and your seed after you: every male of you [is] to be circumcised;
[A] takie [jest] moje przymierze, które będziecie zachowywać, między mną a wami i między twoim potomstwem po tobie: Każdy mężczyzna wśród was ma być obrzezany.
11 and you have circumcised the flesh of your foreskin, and it has become a token of a covenant between Me and you.
Obrzezacie więc ciało waszego napletka; [to] będzie znakiem przymierza między mną a wami.
12 And a son of eight days is circumcised by you; every male throughout your generations, born in the house, or bought with money from any son of a stranger, who is not of your seed;
Każdy syn wśród was w ósmym dniu [życia] będzie obrzezany, każdy mężczyzna przez wszystkie pokolenia, tak narodzony w domu, [jak] i nabyty za pieniądze od jakiegokolwiek cudzoziemca, który nie pochodzi z twego potomstwa.
13 he is certainly circumcised who [is] born in your house, or bought with your money; and My covenant has become in your flesh a perpetual covenant;
Urodzony w twoim domu i nabyty za twoje pieniądze musi być obrzezany. A moje przymierze będzie na waszym ciele jako wieczne przymierze.
14 and an uncircumcised one, a male, the flesh of whose foreskin is not circumcised, indeed, that person has been cut off from his people; My covenant he has broken.”
A nieobrzezany mężczyzna, któremu nie obrzezano ciała jego napletka, ta dusza będzie wykluczona ze swego ludu, [bo] złamała moje przymierze.
15 And God says to Abraham, “Sarai your wife—you do not call her name Sarai, for Sarah [is] her name;
Potem Bóg powiedział do Abrahama: Twojej żony Saraj nie będziesz już nazywał imieniem Saraj, ale jej imię będzie Sara.
16 and I have blessed her, and have also given to you a son from her; and I have blessed her, and she has become nations—kings of peoples are from her.”
I będę jej błogosławił, i dam ci z niej syna. Będę jej błogosławił i będzie [matką] narodów, i od niej będą pochodzić królowie narodów.
17 And Abraham falls on his face, and laughs, and says in his heart, “Is one born to the son of one hundred years? Or does Sarah—daughter of ninety years—bear?”
Wtedy Abraham upadł na twarz i roześmiał się, i mówił w swoim sercu: Czy stuletniemu człowiekowi urodzi się [syn]? I czy Sara w wieku dziewięćdziesięciu lat urodzi?
18 And Abraham says to God, “O that Ishmael may live before You”;
I Abraham powiedział do Boga: Oby [tylko] Izmael żył przed twoim obliczem!
19 and God says, “Your wife Sarah is certainly bearing a son to you, and you have called his name Isaac, and I have established My covenant with him, for a perpetual covenant, to his seed after him.
A Bóg powiedział: Naprawdę, twoja żona Sara urodzi ci syna i nadasz mu imię Izaak. I utwierdzę moje przymierze z nim jako wieczne przymierze [i] z jego potomstwem po nim.
20 As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I have blessed him, and made him fruitful, and multiplied him, very exceedingly; twelve princes does he beget, and I have made him become a great nation;
Co do Izmaela też cię wysłuchałem. Oto błogosławiłem mu i uczynię go płodnym, i rozmnożę go bardzo obficie. Spłodzi on dwunastu książąt i uczynię go wielkim narodem.
21 and My covenant I establish with Isaac, whom Sarah does bear to you at this appointed time in the next year”;
Ale moje przymierze utwierdzę z Izaakiem, którego Sara urodzi ci za rok o tej porze.
22 and He finishes speaking with him, and God goes up from Abraham.
Gdy skończył z nim rozmowę, Bóg wzniósł się nad Abrahama.
23 And Abraham takes his son Ishmael, and all those born in his house, and all those bought with his money—every male among the men of Abraham’s house and circumcises the flesh of their foreskin, in this very same day, as God has spoken with him.
Wtedy Abraham wziął swego syna Izmaela, wszystkich urodzonych w swym domu oraz wszystkich nabytych za pieniądze, wszystkich mężczyzn wśród domowników Abrahama, i obrzezał ciała ich napletków tego samego dnia, jak Bóg mu mówił.
24 And Abraham [is] a son of ninety-nine years in the flesh of his foreskin being circumcised;
Abraham miał dziewięćdziesiąt dziewięć lat, gdy obrzezano ciało jego napletka.
25 and his son Ishmael [is] a son of thirteen years in the flesh of his foreskin being circumcised;
A jego syn Izmael miał trzynaście lat, gdy obrzezano ciało jego napletka.
26 in this very same day Abraham has been circumcised, and his son Ishmael;
Tego samego dnia obrzezano Abrahama i jego syna Izmaela.
27 and all the men of his house—born in the house, and bought with money from the son of a stranger—have been circumcised with him.
I wszyscy mężczyźni jego domu, urodzeni w domu i nabyci za pieniądze od cudzoziemców, zostali obrzezani z nim.
