Genesis 15
1 After these things the word of YHWH has been to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not fear, Abram, I [am] a shield to you, your reward [is] exceedingly great.”
| بعد از این وقایع، کلام خداوند دررویا، به ابرام رسیده، گفت: «ای ابرام مترس، من سپر تو هستم، و اجر بسیار عظیم تو.» | ۱ |
2 And Abram says, “Lord YHWH, what do You give to me, and I am going childless? And an acquired son in my house is Demmesek Eliezer.”
| ابرام گفت: «ای خداوند یهوه، مرا چه خواهی داد، و من بی‌اولاد می‌روم، و مختارخانه‌ام، این العاذار دمشقی است؟» | ۲ |
3 And Abram says, “Behold, to me You have not given seed, and behold, a servant will be my heir.”
| و ابرام گفت: «اینک مرا نسلی ندادی، و خانه زادم وارث من است.» | ۳ |
4 And behold, the word of YHWH [is] to him, saying, “This [one] will not be your heir; but he who comes out from your bowels, he will be your heir”;
| در ساعت، کلام خداوند به وی دررسیده، گفت: «این وارث تو نخواهد بود، بلکه کسی‌که از صلب تو درآید، وارث تو خواهدبود.» | ۴ |
5 and He brings him out outside and says, “Now look attentively toward the heavens and count the stars, if you are able to count them”; and He says to him, “Thus is your seed.”
| و او را بیرون آورده، گفت: «اکنون بسوی آسمان بنگر و ستارگان را بشمار، هرگاه آنها راتوانی شمرد.» پس به وی گفت: «ذریت تو چنین خواهد بود.» | ۵ |
6 And he has believed in YHWH, and He reckons it to him—righteousness.
| و به خداوند ایمان آورد، و او، این را برای وی عدالت محسوب کرد. | ۶ |
7 And He says to him, “I [am] YHWH who brought you out from Ur of the Chaldees, to give to you this land to possess it”;
| پس وی راگفت: «من هستم یهوه که تو را از اور کلدانیان بیرون آوردم، تا این زمین را به ارثیت، به تو بخشم.» | ۷ |
8 and he says, “Lord YHWH, whereby do I know that I possess it?”
| گفت: «ای خداوند یهوه، به چه نشان بدانم که وارث آن خواهم بود؟» | ۸ |
9 And He says to him, “Take for Me a heifer of three years, and a female goat of three years, and a ram of three years, and a turtle-dove, and a young bird”;
| به وی گفت: «گوساله ماده سه ساله و بز ماده سه ساله و قوچی سه ساله و قمری و کبوتری برای من بگیر.» | ۹ |
10 and he takes all these to Him, and separates them in the midst, and puts each piece opposite its fellow, but the bird he has not divided;
| پس این همه را بگرفت، و آنها را از میان، دوپاره کرد، و هر پاره‌ای را مقابل جفتش گذاشت، لکن مرغان را پاره نکرد. | ۱۰ |
11 and the ravenous birds come down on the carcasses, and Abram causes them to turn back.
| و چون لاشخورها برلاشه‌ها فرود آمدند، ابرام آنها را راند. | ۱۱ |
12 And the sun is about to go in, and deep sleep has fallen on Abram, and behold, a terror of great darkness is falling on him;
| و چون آفتاب غروب می‌کرد، خوابی گران بر ابرام مستولی شد، و اینک تاریکی ترسناک سخت، اورا فرو گرفت. | ۱۲ |
13 and He says to Abram, “knowing—know that your seed is a sojourner in a land not theirs, and they have served them, and they have afflicted them four hundred years,
| پس به ابرام گفت: «یقین بدان که ذریت تو در زمینی که از آن ایشان نباشد، غریب خواهند بود، و آنها را بندگی خواهند کرد، و آنهاچهارصد سال ایشان را مظلوم خواهند داشت. | ۱۳ |
14 and the nation also whom they serve I judge, and after this they go out with great substance;
| و بر آن امتی که ایشان بندگان آنها خواهند بود، من داوری خواهم کرد. و بعد از آن با اموال بسیاربیرون خواهند آمد. | ۱۴ |
15 and you come to your fathers in peace; you are buried in a good old age;
| و تو نزد پدران خود به سلامتی خواهی رفت، و در‌پیری نیکو مدفون خواهی شد. | ۱۵ |
16 and the fourth generation turns back here, for the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet complete.”
| و در پشت چهارم بدینجاخواهند برگشت، زیرا گناه اموریان هنوز تمام نشده است.» | ۱۶ |
17 And it comes to pass—the sun has gone in, and thick darkness has been and behold, a furnace of smoke, and a lamp of fire, which has passed over between those pieces.
| و واقع شد که چون آفتاب غروب کرده بودو تاریک شد، تنوری پر دود و چراغی مشتعل ازمیان آن پاره‌ها گذر نمود. | ۱۷ |
18 In that day has YHWH made with Abram a covenant, saying, “To your seed I have given this land, from the River of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates River,
| در آن روز، خداوندبا ابرام عهد بست و گفت: «این زمین را از نهر مصرتا به نهر عظیم، یعنی نهر فرات، به نسل توبخشیده‌ام، | ۱۸ |
19 with the Kenite, and the Kenizzite, and the Kadmonite,
| یعنی قینیان و قنزیان و قدمونیان وحتیان و فرزیان و رفائیان، | ۱۹ |
20 and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Rephaim,
| و اموریان و کنعانیان و جرجاشیان و یبوسیان را.» | ۲۰ |
21 and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Girgashite, and the Jebusite.”
