< Genesis 12 >

1 And YHWH says to Abram, “Go for yourself, from your land, and from your family, and from the house of your father, to the land which I show you.
Onyenwe anyị gwara Ebram okwu sị, “Site nʼobodo gị, sikwa na ụmụnna gị na ezinaụlọ nna gị, gaa nʼala m ga-egosi gị.
2 And I make you become a great nation, and bless you, and make your name great; and be a blessing.
“Aga m eme gị mba ukwu, aga m agọzi gị, aga m eme ka aha gị dị ukwuu, ị ga-abụ ngọzị.
3 And I bless those blessing you, and I curse him who is cursing you, and all families of the ground have been blessed in you.”
Aga m agọzi ndị na-agọzi gị, ma onye ọbụla kọchara gị ka m ga-akọcha; a ga-agọzikwa agbụrụ niile nọ nʼụwa site na gị.”
4 And Abram goes on, as YHWH has spoken to him, and Lot goes with him, and Abram [is] a son of seventy-five years in his going out from Haran.
Ya mere, Ebram hapụrụ gaa dịka Onyenwe anyị gwara ya. Lọt sokwa ya. Ebram agbaala iri afọ asaa na ise mgbe o si na Haran bulie ije.
5 And Abram takes his wife Sarai, and his brother’s son Lot, and all their substance that they have gained, and the persons that they have obtained in Haran; and they go out to go toward the land of Canaan; and they come to the land of Canaan.
O duru nwunye ya Serai na Lọt nwa nwanne ya, chịkọtakwa akụ niile ha kpakọbara, na ndị ohu niile ha nwetara nʼala Haran, chee ihu ịga nʼala Kenan. Emesịa ha rutere nʼebe ahụ.
6 And Abram passes over into the land, to the place of Shechem, to the oak of Moreh; and the Canaanite [is] then in the land.
Ebram jere ije nʼime ala Kenan jeruo nʼebe osisi ukwu More, nke dị nʼobodo Shekem. Ndị Kenan bi nʼala ahụ nʼoge ahụ.
7 And YHWH appears to Abram and says, “To your seed I give this land”; and there he builds an altar to YHWH, who has appeared to him.
Onyenwe anyị mere ka Ebram hụ ya anya, ọ sịrị, “Aga m enye mkpụrụ gị ala a.” Ya mere, Ebram wuru ebe ịchụ aja nʼebe ahụ nye Onyenwe anyị onye gosiri ya onwe ya.
8 And he removes from there toward a mountain at the east of Beth-El, and stretches out the tent (Beth-El at the west, and Hai at the east), and he builds an altar to YHWH there, and preaches in the Name of YHWH.
Emesịa, Ebram hapụrụ ebe ahụ chee ihu nʼala ugwu dị nʼọwụwa anyanwụ Betel, maa ụlọ ikwu ya. Obodo Betel dị nʼakụkụ ọdịda anyanwụ, ma obodo Ai dị nʼakụkụ ọwụwa anyanwụ ebe ọ mara ụlọ ikwu ya. Nʼebe nsọ ahụ Ebram wuru ebe ịchụ aja, nọrọ nʼebe ahụ kpọkuo aha Onyenwe anyị.
9 And Abram journeys, going on and journeying toward the south.
Ọzọ, Ebram si nʼebe ahụ pụọ gaa ije rute Negev.
10 And there is a famine in the land, and Abram goes down toward Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine [is] grievous in the land;
Nʼoge ahụ, oke ụnwụ dara nʼala ahụ. Nʼihi ya, Ebram hapụrụ ala ahụ gaa nʼala Ijipt, ebe o biri nwa oge.
11 and it comes to pass as he has drawn near to enter Egypt, that he says to his wife Sarai, “Now behold, I have known that you [are] a woman of beautiful appearance;
Ma mgbe ha na-akwado ịbanye ala Ijipt, ọ gwara Serai nwunye ya sị, “Amaara m na ị bụ nwanyị mara mma.
12 and it has come to pass that the Egyptians see you, and they have said, This [is] his wife; and they have slain me, and you they keep alive:
Mgbe ndị Ijipt ga-ahụ gị, ha ga-asị, ‘Onye a bụ nwunye ya.’ Mgbe ahụ, ha ga-egbu m ma hapụ gị ndụ.
13 please say you [are] my sister, so that it is well with me because of you, and my soul has lived for your sake.”
Gwa ha na ị bụ nwanne m nwanyị, ka ha meso m mmeso ọma nʼihi gị. Ha ga-echebekwa m ndụ nʼihi gị.”
14 And it comes to pass, at the entering of Abram into Egypt, that the Egyptians see the woman that she [is] exceedingly beautiful;
Mgbe Ebram rutere Ijipt, ndị Ijipt hụrụ na nwunye ya bụ nwanyị mara mma.
15 and princes of Pharaoh see her, and praise her to Pharaoh, and the woman is taken [to] Pharaoh’s house;
Mgbe ndị ozi Fero hụrụ ya, ha toro ya nʼihu Fero. Nʼihi nke a, ha kpọbatara Serai nʼụlọeze Fero.
16 and to Abram he has done good because of her, and he has sheep and oxen, and male donkeys, and menservants, and handmaids, and female donkeys, and camels.
Fero mesoro Ebram mmeso ọma nʼihi nwunye ya. Ebram nwetara igwe atụrụ, na ehi, na nne ịnyịnya ibu, oke na nwunye, na ndị ohu ndị nwoke na ndị nwanyị, na ịnyịnya kamel.
17 And YHWH plagues Pharaoh and his house—great plagues—for the matter of Sarai, Abram’s wife.
Ma Onyenwe anyị jiri ajọọ ọrịa tie Fero na ndị ezinaụlọ ya ihe otiti nʼihi Serai nwunye Ebram.
18 And Pharaoh calls for Abram and says, “What [is] this you have done to me? Why have you not declared to me that she [is] your wife?
Mgbe ahụ, Fero kpọrọ Ebram sị ya, “Gịnị bụ ihe a i mere? Gịnị mere ị gwaghị m na ọ bụ nwunye gị?
19 Why have you said, She [is] my sister, and I take her to myself for a wife? And now, behold, your wife, take and go.”
Gịnị mere i ji sị na ọ bụ nwanne gị nwanyị, si otu a mee m ka m kpọrọ ya ka ọ bụrụ nwunye m? Ugbu a, lee nwunye gị, kpọrọ ya laa.”
20 And Pharaoh charges men concerning him, and they send him away, and his wife, and all that he has.
Fero nyere iwu banyere Ebram na ndị ikom so ya. Ha zilagara ya, ya na nwunye ya, na ihe niile o nwere.
