Genesis 11
1 And the whole earth is of one language, and of the same words,
Ngayon ang buong mundo ay gumagamit ng iisang wika at parehong mga salita.
2 and it comes to pass, in their journeying from the east, that they find a valley in the land of Shinar and dwell there;
Sa kanilang paglalakbay sa silangan, nakatagpo sila ng isang kapatagan sa lupain ng Shinar at doon sila nanirahan.
3 and they each say to his neighbor, “Give help, let us make bricks, and burn [them] thoroughly”: and the brick is to them for stone, and the bitumen has been to them for mortar.
Sinabi nila sa isa’t isa, “Halikayo, gumawa tayo ng mga laryo at lutuin nating mabuti.” Laryo ang gamit nila sa halip na bato at alkitran bilang semento.
4 And they say, “Give help, let us build for ourselves a city and tower with its head in the heavens, and make for ourselves a name, lest we be scattered over the face of all the earth.”
Sinabi nila, “Halikayo, magtayo tayo ng isang lungsod at isang tore para sa atin kung saan ang tuktok ay aabot hanggang langit, at gumawa tayo ng pangalan para sa ating mga sarili. Kung hindi natin gagawin ito, magkakawatak-watak tayo sa buong mundo.”
5 And YHWH comes down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men have built;
Kaya bumaba si Yahweh para tingnan ang lungsod at ang toreng itinayo ng mga kaapu-apuhan ni Adan.
6 and YHWH says, “Behold, the people [is] one, and one language [is] to them all, and this it has dreamed of doing; and now, nothing is restrained from them of that which they have purposed to do.
Sinabi ni Yahweh, “Tingnan ninyo, sila ay iisang bayan na may iisang wika, at sinisimulan nilang gawin ito! Hindi magtatagal lahat ng gusto nilang gawin ay hindi na magiging imposible para sa kanila.
7 Give help, let us go down there and confuse their language, so that a man will not understand the language of his companion.”
Halikayo, bumaba tayo at lituhin natin ang kanilang wika roon, para hindi nila maintindihan ang isa’t isa.
8 And YHWH scatters them from there over the face of all the earth, and they cease to build the city;
Kaya ikinalat sila ni Yahweh mula roon tungo sa lahat ng dako ng mundo at huminto sila sa pagtatayo ng lungsod.
9 therefore [one] has called its name Babel, for there YHWH has confused the language of all the earth, and from there YHWH has scattered them over the face of all the earth.
Kaya, pinangalanan itong Babel, dahil doon nilito ni Yahweh ang wika ng buong mundo at mula roon ikinalat sila ni Yahweh sa iba’t ibang dako ng mundo.
10 These [are] the generations of Shem: Shem [is] a son of one hundred years, and begets Arphaxad two years after the flood.
Ito ang mga kaapu-apuhan ni Sem. Si Sem ay isandaang taong gulang, at naging ama ni Arfaxad dalawang taon matapos ang baha.
11 And Shem lives after his begetting Arphaxad five hundred years, and begets sons and daughters.
Si Sem ay nabuhay ng limandaang taon matapos siyang naging ama ni Arfaxad. Naging ama rin siya ng iba pang mga anak na lalaki at babae.
12 And Arphaxad has lived thirty-five years [[or one hundred and thirty-five years]], and begets Salah.
Nang tatlumpu't-limang taon na si Arfaxad, siya ay naging ama ni Selah.
13 And Arphaxad lives after his begetting Salah four hundred and three years [[or four hundred and thirty years]], and begets sons and daughters.
Nabuhay pa si Arfaxad ng 403 taon matapos siyang maging ama ni Selah, at naging ama pa ng ibang anak na lalaki at babae.
14 And Salah has lived thirty years [[or one hundred and thirty years]], and begets Eber.
Nang tatlumpung taon na si Selah, siya ay naging ama ni Eber.
15 And Salah lives after his begetting Eber four hundred and three years [[or three hundred and thirty years]], and begets sons and daughters.
Nabuhay pa si Selah ng 403 taon matapos siyang maging ama ni Eber at naging ama pa ibang anak na lalaki at babae.
16 And Eber lives thirty-four years [[or one hundred and thirty-four years]], and begets Peleg.
Nang tatlumpu't-apat na taon si Eber, siya ay naging ama ni Peleg.
17 And Eber lives after his begetting Peleg four hundred and thirty years [[or three hundred and seventy years]], and begets sons and daughters.
Nabuhay pa si Eber ng 430 taon matapos siyang maging ama ni Peleg. Siya ay naging ama rin ng iba pang mga anak na lalaki at babae.
18 And Peleg lives thirty years [[or one hundred and thirty years]], and begets Reu.
Nang tatlumpung taon na si Peleg, siya ay naging ama ni Reu.
19 And Peleg lives after his begetting Reu two hundred and nine years, and begets sons and daughters.
Nabuhay pa si Peleg ng 209 taon matapos siyang maging ama ni Peleg. Siya ay naging ama rin ng iba pang mga anak na lalaki at babae.
20 And Reu lives thirty-two years [[or one hundred and thirty-two years]], and begets Serug.
Nang tatlumpu't dalawang taon na si Reu, siya ay naging ama ni Serug.
21 And Reu lives after his begetting Serug two hundred and seven years, and begets sons and daughters.
Nabuhay pa si Reu ng 207 taon matapos siyang maging ama ni Serug. Siya ay naging ama rin ng iba pang mga anak na lalaki at babae.
22 And Serug lives thirty years [[or one hundred and thirty years]], and begets Nahor.
Nang tatlumpung taon na si Serug, siya ay naging ama ni Nahor.
23 And Serug lives after his begetting Nahor two hundred years, and begets sons and daughters.
Si Serug ay nabuhay pa ng dalawandaang taon matapos siyang maging ama ni Nahor. Siya ay naging ama rin ng iba pang mga anak na lalaki at babae.
24 And Nahor lives twenty-nine years [[or seventy-nine years]], and begets Terah.
Nang dalawampu't-siyam na taon na si Nahor, siya ay naging ama ni Terah.
25 And Nahor lives after his begetting Terah one hundred and nineteen years [[or one hundred and twenty-nine years]], and begets sons and daughters.
Nabuhay pa si Nahor ng 119 taon matapos siyang maging ama ni Terah. Siya ay naging ama rin ng iba pang mga anak na lalaki at babae.
26 And Terah lives seventy years, and begets Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
Matapos mamuhay si Terah ng pitumpung taon, siya ay naging ama ni Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
27 And these [are] the generations of Terah: Terah has begotten Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran has begotten Lot;
Ngayon ito ang mga kaapu-apuhan ni Terah. Si Terah ay naging ama nina Abram, Nahor, at Haran, at si Haran ay naging ama ni Lot.
28 and Haran dies in the presence of Terah his father, in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldees.
Namatay si Haran sa piling ng kaniyang amang si Terah sa lupain na kaniyang sinilangan, sa Ur ng mga Caldeo.
29 And Abram and Nahor take to themselves wives; the name of Abram’s wife [is] Sarai, and the name of Nahor’s wife [is] Milcah, daughter of Haran, father of Milcah, and father of Iscah.
Kumuha ng mga asawa sina Abram at Nahor. Ang pangalan ng asawa ni Abram ay Sarai at ang pangalan ng asawa ni Nahor ay Milcah, anak na babae ni Haran, na ama ni Milcah at Iscah.
30 And Sarai is barren—she has no child.
Ngayon si Sarai ay baog; siya ay walang anak
31 And Terah takes his son Abram, and Lot, son of Haran, his son’s son, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, wife of his son Abram, and they go out with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go toward the land of Canaan; and they come to Haran, and dwell there.
Kinuha ni Terah ang anak niyang si Abram, si Lot na anak ng kaniyang anak na si Haran, Sarai na kaniyang manugang, asawa ng kaniyang anak na si Abram, at sama-sama nilang iniwan ang Ur ng mga Caldeo, para pumunta sa lupain ng Canaan. Pero sila ay dumating sa Haran at nanatili roon.
32 And the days of Terah are two hundred and five years, and Terah dies in Haran.
Nabuhay pa si Terah ng 205 na taon at pagkatapos ay namatay sa Haran.
