Genesis 1
1 In [the] beginning God created the heavens and the earth,
En el principio creó Dios los cielos y la tierra.
2 and the earth was formless and void, and darkness [was] on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God [was] fluttering on the face of the waters,
Y la tierra estaba desadornada y vacía; y las tinieblas estaban sobre la haz del abismo: y el Espíritu de Dios se movía sobre la haz de las aguas.
3 and God says, “Let light be”; and light is.
Y dijo Dios: Sea la luz: y fue la luz.
4 And God sees that the light [is] good, and God separates between the light and the darkness,
Y vio Dios que la luz era buena: y apartó Dios a la luz de las tinieblas.
5 and God calls the light “Day,” and the darkness He has called “Night”; and there is an evening, and there is a morning—day one.
Y llamó Dios a la luz Día; y a las tinieblas llamó Noche: y fue la tarde y la mañana un día.
6 And God says, “Let an expanse be in the midst of the waters, and let it be separating between waters and waters.”
Y dijo Dios: Sea un extendimiento en medio de las aguas, y haga apartamiento entre aguas y aguas.
7 And God makes the expanse, and it separates between the waters which [are] under the expanse, and the waters which [are] above the expanse: and it is so.
E hizo Dios un extendimiento, y apartó las aguas que están debajo del extendimiento, de las aguas que están sobre el extendimiento: y fue así.
8 And God calls the expanse “Heavens”; and there is an evening, and there is a morning—[the] second day.
Y llamó Dios al extendimiento Cielos: y fue la tarde y la mañana el día segundo.
9 And God says, “Let the waters under the heavens be collected to one place, and let the dry land be seen”: and it is so.
Y dijo Dios: Júntense las aguas que están debajo de los cielos en un lugar, y descúbrase la seca: y fue así.
10 And God calls the dry land “Earth,” and the collection of the waters He has called “Seas”; and God sees that [it is] good.
Y llamó Dios a la seca, Tierra; y al juntamiento de las aguas llamó Mares: y vio Dios que era bueno.
11 And God says, “Let the earth yield tender grass, herb sowing seed, fruit-tree (whose seed [is] in itself) making fruit after its kind, on the earth”: and it is so.
Y dijo Dios: Produzca la tierra yerba verde, yerba que haga simiente: árbol de fruto que haga fruto según su naturaleza, que su simiente esté en él sobre la tierra: y fue así.
12 And the earth brings forth tender grass, herb sowing seed after its kind, and tree making fruit (whose seed [is] in itself) after its kind; and God sees that [it is] good;
Y produjo la tierra yerba verde, yerba que hace simiente según su naturaleza, y árbol que hace fruto, que su simiente está en él según su naturaleza: y vio Dios que era bueno.
13 and there is an evening, and there is a morning—[the] third day.
Y fue la tarde y la mañana el día tercero.
14 And God says, “Let luminaries be in the expanse of the heavens, to make a separation between the day and the night, then they have been for signs, and for appointed times, and for days and years,
Y dijo Dios: Sean luminares en el extendimiento de los cielos para apartar el día y la noche: y sean por señales, y por tiempos determinados, y por días y años:
15 and they have been for luminaries in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth”: and it is so.
Y sean por luminares en el extendimiento de los cielos para alumbrar sobre la tierra: y fue así.
16 And God makes the two great luminaries, the great luminary for the rule of the day, and the small luminary—and the stars—for the rule of the night;
E hizo Dios los dos luminares grandes: el luminar grande para que señorease en el día, y el luminar pequeño para que señorease en la noche, y las estrellas.
17 and God gives them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth,
Y púsolos Dios en el extendimiento de los cielos, para alumbrar sobre la tierra;
18 and to rule over day and over night, and to make a separation between the light and the darkness; and God sees that [it is] good;
Y para señorear en el día y en la noche, y para apartar la luz y las tinieblas: y vio Dios que era bueno.
19 and there is an evening, and there is a morning—[the] fourth day.
Y fue la tarde y la mañana el día cuarto.
20 And God says, “Let the waters teem with the teeming living creature, and let [the] bird fly above the earth on the face of the expanse of the heavens.”
Y dijo Dios: Produzcan las aguas reptil de ánima viviente, y aves que vuelen sobre la tierra, sobre la haz del extendimiento de los cielos.
21 And God creates the great dragons, and every living creature that is creeping, which the waters have teemed with, after their kind, and every bird with wing, after its kind, and God sees that [it is] good.
Y creó Dios las grandes ballenas, y toda cosa viva, que anda arrastrando, que las aguas produjeron según sus naturalezas: y toda ave de alas según su naturaleza: y vio Dios que era bueno.
22 And God blesses them, saying, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let the bird multiply in the earth”:
Y bendíjolos Dios, diciendo: Fructificad y multiplicad, y henchíd las aguas en las mares; y las aves se multipliquen en la tierra.
23 and there is an evening, and there is a morning—[the] fifth day.
Y fue la tarde y la mañana el día quinto.
24 And God says, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature after its kind, livestock and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after its kind”: and it is so.
Y dijo Dios: Produzca la tierra ánima viviente según su naturaleza, bestias, y serpientes, y animales de la tierra según su naturaleza: y fue así.
25 And God makes the beast of the earth after its kind, and the livestock after their kind, and every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, and God sees that [it is] good.
E hizo Dios animales de la tierra según su naturaleza y bestias según su naturaleza; y todas serpientes de la tierra según su naturaleza: y vio Dios que era bueno.
26 And God says, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness, and let them rule over [the] fish of the sea, and over [the] bird of the heavens, and over livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that is creeping on the earth.”
Y dijo Dios: Hagamos al hombre a nuestra imagen, conforme a nuestra semejanza; y señoreen en los peces de la mar, y en las aves de los cielos, y en las bestias, y en toda la tierra, y en toda serpiente que anda arrastrando sobre la tierra.
27 And God creates the man in His image; in the image of God He created him, a male and a female He created them.
Y creó Dios al hombre a su imagen, a imagen de Dios le creó: macho y hembra los creó.
28 And God blesses them, and God says to them, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over [the] fish of the sea, and over [the] bird of the heavens, and over every living thing that is creeping on the earth.”
Y bendíjolos Dios, y díjoles Dios: Fructificad y multiplicad, y henchíd la tierra, y sojuzgadla, y señoread en los peces de la mar, y en las aves de los cielos, y en todas las bestias, que se mueven sobre la tierra.
29 And God says, “Behold, I have given to you every herb sowing seed, which [is] on the face of all the earth, and every tree in which [is] the fruit of a tree sowing seed, to you it is for food;
Y dijo Dios: He aquí, os he dado toda yerba que hace simiente, que está sobre la haz de toda la tierra: y todo árbol en que hay fruto de árbol que haga simiente, seros ha para comer.
30 and to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the heavens, and to every creeping thing on the earth, in which [is] breath of life, every green herb [is] for food”: and it is so.
Y a toda bestia de la tierra, y a todas las aves de los cielos, y a todo lo que se mueve sobre la tierra en que hay ánima viviente; toda verdura de yerba será para comer. Y fue así.
31 And God sees all that He has done, and behold, [it is] very good; and there is an evening, and there is a morning—the sixth day.
Y vio Dios todo lo que había hecho, y he aquí que era bueno en gran manera: y fue la tarde y la mañana el día sexto.
