Galatians 6
1 Brothers, even if a man may be overtaken in any trespass, you who [are] spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of meekness, considering yourself—lest you also may be tempted.
Frères, si un homme vient à être surpris en quelque faute, vous qui avez l'Esprit, redressez-le dans un esprit de douceur; et prends garde à toi-même, de peur que, toi aussi, tu ne sois tenté!
2 Bear the burdens of one another, and so fill up the law of the Christ,
Portez les fardeaux les uns des autres, et vous accomplirez ainsi la loi de Christ.
3 for if anyone thinks [himself] to be something—being nothing—he deceives himself;
Car, si quelqu'un pense être quelque chose, bien qu'il ne soit rien, il se séduit lui-même.
4 and let each one prove his own work, and then he will have the glorying in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to the other,
Que chacun examine son oeuvre, et alors il pourra se glorifier, par rapport à lui-même seulement, et non par rapport aux autres.
5 for each one will bear his own burden.
Chacun, en effet, portera son propre fardeau.
6 And let him who is instructed in the word share with him who is instructing in all good things.
Que celui à qui on enseigne la parole, fasse, dans tous ses biens, une part pour celui qui l'enseigne.
7 Do not be led astray: God is not mocked; for what a man may sow—that he will also reap,
Ne vous abusez point: on ne se moque pas de Dieu; car ce que l'homme aura semé, il le moissonnera aussi.
8 because he who is sowing to his own flesh, of the flesh will reap corruption; and he who is sowing to the Spirit, of the Spirit will reap continuous life; (aiōnios g166)
Celui qui sème pour sa chair, moissonnera de la chair la corruption; mais celui qui sème pour l'Esprit, moissonnera de l'Esprit la vie éternelle. (aiōnios g166)
9 and in doing good we should not be weary, for at the proper time we will reap—not desponding;
Ne nous lassons pas de faire le bien; car nous moissonnerons au temps convenable, si nous ne nous relâchons point.
10 therefore, then, as we have opportunity, may we work the good to all, and especially to those of the household of faith.
Ainsi donc, pendant que nous en avons l'occasion, faisons du bien à tous, mais principalement à nos frères en la foi.
11 You see in how large letters I have written to you with my own hand;
Voyez en quels gros caractères je vous ai écrit de ma propre main.
12 as many as are willing to make a good appearance in the flesh, these constrain you to be circumcised—only that they may not be persecuted for the Cross of the Christ,
Tous ceux qui vous contraignent d'être circoncis, veulent plaire aux hommes, d'une façon toute charnelle, uniquement afin qu'ils ne soient pas persécutés pour la croix du Christ.
13 for neither do those circumcised keep the Law themselves, but they wish you to be circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
Car ceux-là mêmes qui sont circoncis n'observent point la loi; mais ils veulent que vous soyez circoncis, afin de se glorifier en votre chair.
14 And for me, let it not be—to glory, except in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world;
Pour moi, Dieu me garde de me glorifier, si ce n'est en la croix de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, par laquelle le monde est crucifié à mon égard, et moi à l'égard du monde!
15 for in Christ Jesus neither circumcision avails anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation;
Car ce qui importe, ce n'est pas la circoncision ni l'incirconcision, c'est d'être une nouvelle créature.
16 and as many as walk by this rule—peace on them, and kindness, and on the Israel of God!
Et pour tous ceux qui suivront cette règle, que la paix et la miséricorde repose sur eux, et sur l'Israël de Dieu!
17 From now on, let no one give me trouble, for I carry the scars of the Lord Jesus in my body.
Que désormais personne ne me fasse de la peine, car je porte en mon corps les stigmates de Jésus.
18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [is] with your spirit, brothers! Amen.
Frères, que la grâce de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ soit avec votre esprit! Amen.
