< Galatians 6 >
1 Brothers, even if a man may be overtaken in any trespass, you who [are] spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of meekness, considering yourself—lest you also may be tempted.
Brothers, if a man is actually caught in some wrongdoing, you, the spiritual ones, should restore him in a spirit of gentleness, watching out for yourself lest you also be tempted.
2 Bear the burdens of one another, and so fill up the law of the Christ,
Bear one another's heavy burdens, and so fulfill the law of the Christ.
3 for if anyone thinks [himself] to be something—being nothing—he deceives himself;
For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
4 and let each one prove his own work, and then he will have the glorying in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to the other,
Let each one test his own work, and then do his ‘boasting’ only within himself, never to someone else.
5 for each one will bear his own burden.
For each one must carry his own normal load.
6 And let him who is instructed in the word share with him who is instructing in all good things.
Let him who is taught the Word share all good things with him who teaches.
7 Do not be led astray: God is not mocked; for what a man may sow—that he will also reap,
Do not be deceived, God does not allow Himself to be treated with contempt; because whatever a man sows, that he will also reap
8 because he who is sowing to his own flesh, of the flesh will reap corruption; and he who is sowing to the Spirit, of the Spirit will reap continuous life; (aiōnios )
—he who sows to his own flesh will reap deterioration from that flesh; he who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from that Spirit. (aiōnios )
9 and in doing good we should not be weary, for at the proper time we will reap—not desponding;
Let us not lose heart while doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we do not give up.
10 therefore, then, as we have opportunity, may we work the good to all, and especially to those of the household of faith.
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do what is good toward everyone, but especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.
11 You see in how large letters I have written to you with my own hand;
See with what large letters I have written to you with my own hand.
12 as many as are willing to make a good appearance in the flesh, these constrain you to be circumcised—only that they may not be persecuted for the Cross of the Christ,
Those who want to make a good showing in the flesh are pressuring you to be circumcised, but only so as not to be persecuted for the cross of Christ.
13 for neither do those circumcised keep the Law themselves, but they wish you to be circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
For not even those who are circumcised keep the law themselves, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.
14 And for me, let it not be—to glory, except in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world;
But as for me, may I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
15 for in Christ Jesus neither circumcision avails anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation;
Because in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation.
16 and as many as walk by this rule—peace on them, and kindness, and on the Israel of God!
Now as for those who conform to this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.
17 From now on, let no one give me trouble, for I carry the scars of the Lord Jesus in my body.
Finally, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the brand marks of the Lord Jesus.
18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [is] with your spirit, brothers! Amen.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen.
