< Galatians 5 >
1 In the freedom, then, with which Christ made you free—stand, and do not be held fast again by a yoke of servitude.
ⲁ̅⳿ⲛ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ϧⲉⲛ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲣⲉⲙϩⲉ ⲁ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛⲣⲉⲙϩⲉ ⲟϩⲓ ⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲣⲁⲧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲣϯ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ϧⲁ ⲟⲩⲛⲁϩⲃⲉϥ ⳿ⲙⲙⲉⲧⲃⲱⲕ.
2 Behold! I, Paul, say to you, that if you are [to be] circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing;
ⲃ̅ⲓⲥ ϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ ϯϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϫⲉ ⲉϣⲱⲡ ⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϣⲁⲛ ⲥⲟⲩⲃⲉ ⲑⲏ ⲛⲟⲩ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛⲁϯϩⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϩⲗⲓ.
3 and I testify again to every man circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law;
ⲅ̅ϯⲉⲣⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲥⲉⲃⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲥⲉⲣⲟϥ ⳿ⲉⲉⲣ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣϥ.
4 you were voided from the Christ, you who are declared righteous in law; you fell away from grace;
ⲇ̅ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲕⲱⲣϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲁ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛⲏⲉⲧ⳿ⲑⲙⲁⲓⲟ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϩⲉⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ.
5 for we by the Spirit, by faith, wait for a hope of righteousness,
ⲉ̅⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲛⲁϩϯ ⲟⲩϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲛϫⲟⲩϣⲧ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲁϫⲱⲥ.
6 for in Christ Jesus neither circumcision avails anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith working through love.
ⲋ̅⳿ⲛ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ϧⲉⲛ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⳿ⲡⲥⲉⲃⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⳿ϣϫⲟⲙ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲁⲧⲥⲉⲃⲓ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲟⲩⲛⲁϩϯ ⲉⲩⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ϯⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ.
7 You were running well; who hindered you [so as] not to obey the truth?
ⲍ̅ⲛⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϭⲟϫⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛⲕⲁⲗⲱⲥ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉⲧⲁϥⲧⲁϩⲛⲟ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϣⲧⲉⲙ⳿ⲑⲣⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲑⲱⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲑⲙⲏⲓ.
8 The persuasion [is] not of Him who is calling you!
ⲏ̅ⲡⲁⲓⲑⲱⲧ ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲑⲱϩⲉⲙ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ.
9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump;
ⲑ̅ⲟⲩⲕⲟⲩϫⲓ ⳿ⲛϣⲉⲙⲏⲣ ϣⲁϥ⳿ⲑⲣⲉ ⲡⲓⲱϣⲉⲙ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ϭⲓϣⲉⲙⲏⲣ.
10 I have confidence in regard to you in the LORD that you will not be otherwise minded; and he who is troubling you will bear the judgment, whoever he may be.
ⲓ̅⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲁϩⲏⲧ ⲑⲏⲧ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ Ⲡ⳪ ϫⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲙⲉⲩⲓ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲉⲕⲉϩⲱⲃ ⲫⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧ⳿ϣⲑⲟⲣⲧⲉⲣ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲉϥϥⲁⲓ ϧⲁ ⲡⲓϩⲁⲡ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲡⲉ.
11 And I, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? Then the stumbling-block of the Cross has been done away [with];
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲥⲉⲃⲓ ⲟⲛ ⲡⲉϯϩⲓⲱⲓϣ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲓⲉ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲟⲩ ⲥⲉϭⲟϫⲓ ⳿ⲛⲥⲱⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲁ ⲁϥⲕⲱⲣϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲥⲕⲁⲛⲇⲁⲗⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲥⲧⲁⲩⲣⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅.
12 O that even they would cut themselves off who are unsettling you!
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅⳿ⲁⲙⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲥⲉϫⲱϫⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲏⲉⲧ⳿ϣⲑⲟⲣⲧⲉⲣ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ.
13 For you were called to freedom, brothers, only the freedom [is] not for an occasion to the flesh, but serve one another through the love,
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲁ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲑⲁϩⲉⲙ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲙⲉⲧⲣⲉⲙϩⲉ ⲙⲟⲛⲟⲛ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲣ⳿ⲓⲛⲓ ⳿ⲛϯ ⲙⲉⲧⲣⲉⲙϩⲉ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲗⲱⲓϫⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯ ⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ϯⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⲁⲣⲓⲃⲱⲕ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ.
14 for all the Law is fulfilled in one word—in this: “You will love your neighbor as yourself”;
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲁϥϫⲏⲕ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲥⲁϫⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲙⲉⲛⲣⲉ ⲡⲉⲕ⳿ϣⲫⲏ ⲣ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲕⲣⲏϯ.
15 and if you bite and devour one another, see that you may not be consumed by one another.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϭⲓⲗⲁⲡⲥⲓ ⳿ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏ ⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⳿ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲙⲏⲡⲱⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲙⲟⲩⲛⲕ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ.
16 And I say, walk in the Spirit, and you may not fulfill the desire of the flesh;
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ϯϫⲱ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲟϣⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϯⲉⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲁ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛϫⲟⲕⲥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ.
17 for the flesh desires contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit contrary to the flesh, and these are opposed to one another, that the things that you may will—these you may not do;
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ϯⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲥⲉⲣ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲛ ⲟⲩⲃⲉ ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲩⲃⲉ ϯⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲥⲉϯ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲁϣⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ϣⲧⲉⲙⲁⲓⲧⲟⲩ.
18 and if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲙⲟϣⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲓⲉ ⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲭⲏ ϧⲁ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉ.
19 And the works of the flesh are also evident, which are: adultery, whoredom, uncleanness, licentiousness,
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲥⲉⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲓ⳿ϩⲃⲏⲟⲩⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲉ ϯⲡⲟⲣⲛⲓⲁ ⲡⲓϭⲱϧⲉⲙ ⲡⲓⲥⲱϥ.
20 idolatry, witchcraft, enmities, strife, jealousy, wraths, rivalries, dissensions, sects,
ⲕ̅ϯⲙⲉⲧϣⲁⲙϣⲉ ⳿ⲓⲇⲱⲗⲟⲛ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲣⲉϥϯ ⲫⲁϧⲣⲓ ⲛⲓⲙⲉⲧϫⲁϫⲓ ⲛⲓ⳿ϣϭⲛⲏⲛ ⲛⲓⲭⲟϩ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲙⲃⲟⲛ ⲛⲓϫⲉⲣϫⲉⲣ ⲛⲓⲫⲱⲣϫ ⲛⲓⲙⲉⲧϩⲉⲣⲉⲥⲓⲥ.
21 envyings, murders, drunkenness, reveling, and such like, of which I tell you before, as I also said before, that those doing such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲛⲓ⳿ⲫⲑⲟⲛⲟⲥ ⲛⲓϧⲱⲧⲉⲃ ⲛⲓⲑⲓϧⲓ ⲛⲓϣⲉⲣϣⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲟⲛⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲁⲓ ⳿ⲉϯⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⳿ⲛϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲟⲛ ⲉⲧⲁⲓⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⳿ⲛϫⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲏⲉⲧ⳿⳿ⲓⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲉⲣ⳿ⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲓⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲛ.
22 And the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith,
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅⳿ⲡⲟⲩⲧⲁϩ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⲟⲩⲣⲁϣⲓ ⲟⲩϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲭ͞ⲣⲥ̅ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲅⲁⲑⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲛⲁϩϯ.
23 meekness, [and] self-control. Against such there is no law;
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲣⲉⲙⲣⲁⲩϣ ⲟⲩⲉⲅ⳿ⲕⲣⲁⲧⲓⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ϯⲟⲩⲃⲏⲟⲩ.
24 and those who are of Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with the affections and the desires;
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲛⲏ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁⲩ⳿ⲓϣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲩⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲉⲥⲡⲁⲑⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲉⲥⲉⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲁ.
25 if we may live in the Spirit, we may also walk in the Spirit;
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲉⲛⲱⲛϧ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲓⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲛϯⲙⲁϯ ⲟⲛ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅.
26 let us not become vainglorious—provoking one another, envying one another!
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲛ⳿ⲑⲣⲉⲛϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲙⲁⲓⲱⲟⲩ ⲉϥϣⲟⲩⲓⲧ ⲉⲛⲥⲱⲕ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡϯ ⲉⲛⲉⲣ⳿ⲫⲑⲟⲛⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ
