Galatians 4
1 And I say, now as much time as the heir is a child, he differs nothing from a servant, [though] being lord of all,

2 but is under tutors and stewards until the time appointed of the father,

3 so we also, when we were children, were in servitude under the elements of the world,
To baktih toengah, aicae doeh nawkta ah a oh o naah, long atawk tlim ah ni misong ah a oh o.
4 and when the fullness of time came, God sent forth His Son, come of a woman, come under law,
Toe atue phak naah loe, Sithaw mah a Capa to patoeh, nongpata zok thungah pomh moe, kaalok thungah tapen,
5 that He may redeem those under law, that we may receive the adoption as sons;
to tiah ni kaalok thungah kaom kaminawk to pahlong ueloe, a nih ih caa ah oh thaihaih to a hnu o tih.
6 and because you are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”
Nangcae loe caa ah na oh o pongah, Sithaw mah a Capa ih Muithla to nangcae palung thungah patoeh, Anih mah Abba, Pa, tiah kawk.
7 So that you are no longer a servant, but a son, and if a son, also an heir of God through Christ.
To pongah nangcae loe tamna na ai boeh ni, capa maeto ah ni na oh o boeh; capa maeto ah na oh o boeh loe, Kri rang hoiah Sithaw ih qawktoep kami ah ni na oh o boeh.
8 But then, indeed, having not known God, you were in servitude to those [that are] not by nature gods,
Sithaw na panoek o ai naah, taksa ah Sithaw tawn ai kaminawk ih tok to na sak pae o.
9 and now, having known God—and rather being known by God—how [do] you turn again to the weak and poor elements to which you desire anew to be in servitude?
Toe tipongah vaihi Sithaw na panoek o moe, Sithaw mah ang panoek o pacoengah, tha kacak ai, amtanghaih hmuen bangah angqoi moe, misong ah oh let han na koeh o loe?
10 You observe days, and months, and times, and years!
Ani, akhrah, khotue hoi saningnawk to na uum o.
11 I am afraid for you, lest I labored in vain for you.
Nangcae nuiah azom pui ah tha ka pathok moeng tih, tiah mawnhaih ka tawnh.
12 I implore you, brothers, become as I [am]—because I also [am] as you; you did not hurt me;
Nawkamyanawk, nangcae baktiah ka oh pongah, kai baktiah na oh o toeng hanah tahmenhaih kang hnik o: ka nuiah na sakpazaehaih roe tidoeh om ai.
13 and you have known that through weakness of the flesh I proclaimed good news to you at the first,
Nangcae khaeah kahoih tamthanglok ka thuih tangsuek naah, taksa thacak ai hoiah ni kang thuih o, tito na panoek o.
14 and you did not despise nor reject my trial that [is] in my flesh, but you received me as a messenger of God—as Christ Jesus;
Ka taksa ah kaom raihaih pongah kai khet nang patoek o ai moe, nang pakak o ai; Sithaw ih van kami baktih, Kri Jesu baktiah nang talawk o.
15 what then was your blessedness? For I testify to you, that if possible, having plucked out your eyes, you would have given [them] to me;
To baktih nangcae tahamhoih anghoehaih to naa ah maw oh ving boeh? Angcoeng thai nahaeloe, kai paek hanah nangmacae ih mik mataeng doeh taprok dok han koek to na koeh o, tito ka panoek.
16 so have I become your enemy, being true to you?
Loktang lok kang thuih o pongah, nangcae ih misa ah maw ka oh boeh?
17 They are zealous for you—[yet] not well, but they wish to shut us out, that you may be zealous for them;
Nihcae mah nangcae palung parai baktiah mikhmai na pan o thuih doeh om tih, toe kahoihah na palung o tangtang ai; ue, nihcae mah nangcae palung han koeh ih na ai ah, nangcae mah nihcae palung han ih ni a koeh o.
18 and [it is] good to be zealously regarded, in what is good, at all times, and not only in my being present with you;
Nangcae hoi nawnto ka oh nathuem khue ai, kahoih hmuen bangah loe amlung poe han oh.
19 my little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ may be formed in you,
Palung ih ka caanawk, Kri nangcae thungah kacakah om ai karoek to, nawkta zah nathuem ih zok kana baktiah ni kana ka pauep let.
20 indeed I was wishing to be present with you now, and to change my voice, because I am in doubt about you.
Nangcae nuiah palunghaenghaih ka tawnh pongah, vaihi nangcae khaeah kang zoh moe, lok ka thuihaih dan pakhraih han ka koeh.
21 Tell me, you who are willing to be under law, do you not hear the Law?
Kaalok thungah oh koeh kaminawk, na thui oh, kaalok to na thaih o ai maw?
22 For it has been written that Abraham had two sons, one by the maidservant and one by the free [woman],
Abraham mah capa hnetto sak, maeto loe misong nongpata thung hoiah oh moe, kalah maeto loe kaloih nongpata thung hoiah oh, tiah tarik ih oh.
23 but he who [is] of the maidservant has been according to flesh, but he who [is] of the free [woman], through the promise,
Toe misong nongpata ih capa loe taksa koehhaih baktiah sak ih capa ah oh; kaloih nongpata khae hoi kaom capa loe lokkamhaih baktiah sak ih capa ah oh.
24 which things are allegorized, for these are the two covenants: one, indeed, from Mount Sinai, bringing forth to servitude, which is Hagar;
To loknawk loe hnuksakhaih lok ah ni oh: to nongpata hnik loe lokmaihaih hnetto thuih koehhaih ih ni; Sinai mae nui hoiah kangzo lokmaihaih maeto loe Hagar ni, anih mah misong ah kaom capa to tapen.
25 for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to the Jerusalem that now [is], and is in servitude with her children,
Hagar loe Arabia prae ah kaom Sinai mae ah oh, vaihi thuem ih Jerusalem hoiah anghmong, anih loe a caa hoi nawnto misong ah oh hoi.
26 and the Jerusalem above is the free [woman], which is mother of us all,

27 for it has been written: “Rejoice, O barren, who is not bearing; break forth and cry, you who are not travailing, because many [are] the children of the desolate—more than of her having the husband.”
Caa kaak, caa sah vai ai nongpata nang, anghoe ah; nawkta tapenhaih kana panoek vai ai nang, tha hoi hang ah: haek ih nongpata loe sava tawn nongpata pong pop kue ah caa sak, tiah tarik ih oh.
28 And we, brothers, as Isaac, are children of promise,

29 but as he then who was born according to the flesh persecuted him [born] according to the Spirit, so also now;

30 but what does the Writing say? “Cast forth the maidservant and her son, for the son of the maidservant may not be heir with the son of the free [woman]”;
Toe Cabu mah kawbangmaw thuih? Misong nongpata to a capa hoi nawnto haek ving ah: misong nongpata ih capa mah kaloih nongpata ih capa hoi nawnto qawktoepkung ah om mak ai, tiah thuih.
31 then, brothers, we are not a maidservant’s children, but the free [woman’s].
