Ezekiel 8

1 And it comes to pass, in the sixth year, in the sixth [month], on the fifth of the month, I am sitting in my house, and [the] elderly of Judah are sitting before me, and there a hand of Lord YHWH falls on me,

ആറാംവർഷം ആറാംമാസം അഞ്ചാംതീയതി ഞാൻ എന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ യെഹൂദനേതാക്കന്മാർ എന്റെമുമ്പിൽ ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു. അപ്പോൾ യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിന്റെ കൈ എന്റെമേൽ വന്നു.

2 and I look, and behold, a likeness as the appearance of fire, from the appearance of His loins and downward—fire, and from His loins and upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the color of electrum.

ഞാൻ നോക്കിയപ്പോൾ മനുഷ്യസാദൃശ്യത്തിലുള്ള ഒരു രൂപത്തെ കണ്ടു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അരയും അരമുതൽ താഴോട്ടുള്ള ഭാഗവും തീപോലെയും അരമുതൽ മുകളിലേക്കുള്ള ഭാഗം തിളങ്ങുന്ന ലോഹത്തിന്റെ ശോഭയുള്ളതും ആയിരുന്നു.

3 And He puts forth a form of a hand, and takes me by a lock of my head, and [the] Spirit lifts me up between the earth and the heavens, and brings me to Jerusalem in visions of God, to the opening of the inner gate that is facing the north, where the seat of the figure of jealousy [is] that is making jealous,

അവിടന്നു തന്റെ കൈപോലെ ഒന്നു നീട്ടി എന്റെ തലമുടി പിടിച്ചു. ആത്മാവ് എന്നെ ഭൂമിക്കും ആകാശത്തിനും മധ്യേ ഉയർത്തി ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ള ദർശനത്തിൽ എന്നെ ജെറുശലേമിൽ അകത്തെ അങ്കണത്തിന്റെ വടക്കേകവാടത്തിന്റെ പ്രവേശനത്തിൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. അവിടെ വളരെയധികം അസൂയ ഉത്തേജിപ്പിക്കുന്ന വലിയൊരു വിഗ്രഹം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

4 and behold, there the glory of the God of Israel [is] as the appearance that I saw in the valley.

ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മഹത്ത്വം സമഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ചു ഞാൻ കണ്ട ദർശനംപോലെ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

5 And He says to me, “Son of man, now lift up your eyes [toward] the way of the north.” And I lift up my eyes [toward] the way of the north, and behold, on the north of the gate of the altar [is] this figure of jealousy, at the entrance.

അപ്പോൾ അവിടന്ന് എന്നോട്: “മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, കണ്ണുകൾ ഉയർത്തി വടക്കോട്ടുനോക്കുക” എന്നു കൽപ്പിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ കണ്ണുയർത്തി വടക്കോട്ടു നോക്കി. യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ കവാടത്തിന് വടക്കായി പ്രവേശനത്തിങ്കൽ അസൂയാവിഗ്രഹം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

6 And He says to me, “Son of man, are you seeing what they are doing? The great abominations that the house of Israel is doing here, to keep far off from My sanctuary; and turn again, [and] see great abominations.”

അവിടന്ന് എന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു: “മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, അവർ ചെയ്യുന്നതു നീ കാണുന്നുണ്ടോ? എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിൽനിന്ന് എന്നെ ആട്ടിപ്പായിക്കുംവിധം ഇസ്രായേൽഗൃഹം ചെയ്യുന്ന ഏറ്റവും അറപ്പുളവാക്കുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികൾ നീ കാണുന്നുണ്ടോ? ഇതിലും നീചമായതു നീ ഇനിയും കാണും.”

7 And He brings me to an opening of the court, and I look, and behold, a hole in the wall;

അതിനുശേഷം അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ അങ്കണത്തിന്റെ പ്രവേശനകവാടത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. ഞാൻ നോക്കിയപ്പോൾ ചുമരിൽ ഒരു ദ്വാരം കണ്ടു.

8 and He says to me, “Son of man, now dig through the wall”; and I dig through the wall, and behold, an opening.

“മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, ചുമർ തുരക്കുക,” എന്ന് അവിടന്ന് എന്നോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചു, ഞാൻ ചുമർ കുത്തിത്തുരന്നപ്പോൾ ഒരു വാതിൽ കണ്ടു.

9 And He says to me, “Go in, and see the evil abominations that they are doing here.”

അവിടന്ന് എന്നോട്: “അകത്തുപോയി അവർ അവിടെ ചെയ്യുന്ന ദുഷ്ടതയും അറപ്പുളവാക്കുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികളും നോക്കുക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

10 And I go in, and look, and behold, every form of creeping thing, and detestable beast—and all the idols of the house of Israel—carved on the wall, all around,

ഞാൻ ഉള്ളിൽ കടന്നുനോക്കി. എല്ലാത്തരം ഇഴജാതികളെയും അറപ്പുളവാക്കുന്ന മൃഗങ്ങളെയും ഇസ്രായേൽഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ എല്ലാ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും ചുമരിൽ വരച്ചുവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു ഞാൻ കണ്ടു.

11 and seventy men from [the] elderly of the house of Israel—and Jaazaniah son of Shaphan standing in their midst—are standing before them, and each [with] his censer in his hand, and [the] abundance of [the] cloud of the incense is going up.

അവയുടെമുമ്പിൽ ഇസ്രായേലിലെ എഴുപതു നേതാക്കന്മാർ നിന്നിരുന്നു. ശാഫാന്റെ മകനായ യയസന്യാവും അവരുടെ മധ്യേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഓരോരുത്തനും ധൂപകലശം കൈയിൽ പിടിച്ചിരുന്നു. മേഘതുല്യമായ ധൂപത്തിന്റെ സൗരഭ്യം അവിടമാകെ വ്യാപിച്ചിരുന്നു.

12 And He says to me, “Have you seen, son of man, that which elderly of the house of Israel are doing in the darkness, each in [the] inner chambers of his imagery, for they are saying, YHWH is not seeing us, YHWH has forsaken the land?”

അവിടന്ന് എന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു: “മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, ഇസ്രായേലിലെ ഗോത്രത്തലവന്മാർ ഇരുട്ടിൽ, ഓരോരുത്തനും താന്താങ്ങളുടെ ബിംബങ്ങളുടെ അറകളിൽ, എന്താണു ചെയ്യുന്നതെന്നു നീ കാണുന്നോ? ‘യഹോവ നമ്മെ കാണുന്നില്ല; യഹോവ ദേശത്തെ കൈവിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു’ എന്നാണ് അവർ പറയുന്നത്.

13 And He says to me, “Turn again, [and] see [the] great abominations that they are doing.”

ഇനിയും ഇതിലും വലിയ മ്ലേച്ഛതകൾ അവർ ചെയ്യുന്നതായി നീ കാണും, എന്നും അവിടന്ന് എന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.”

14 And He brings me to the opening of the gate of the house of YHWH that [is] at the north, and behold, there the women are sitting, weeping for Tammuz.

പിന്നീട് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ വടക്കോട്ടുള്ള കവാടത്തിന്റെ പ്രവേശനത്തിലേക്ക് അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. അവിടെ സ്ത്രീകൾ തമ്മൂസുദേവനുവേണ്ടി കരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

15 And He says to me, “Have you seen, son of man? Turn again, [and] see greater abominations than these.”

അവിടന്ന് എന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു: “മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, ഇതു നീ കാണുന്നോ? ഇതിലും വലിയ മ്ലേച്ഛതകൾ ഞാൻ നിനക്കു കാണിച്ചുതരും.”

16 And He brings me into the inner court of the house of YHWH, and behold, at the opening of the temple of YHWH, between the porch and the altar, about twenty-five men, their backs toward the temple of YHWH, and their faces eastward, and they are bowing themselves eastward to the sun.

പിന്നീട് അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ അകത്തെ അങ്കണത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. അവിടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പ്രവേശനത്തിങ്കൽ മണ്ഡപത്തിനും യാഗപീഠത്തിനും മധ്യേ ഏകദേശം ഇരുപത്തിയഞ്ചു പുരുഷന്മാർ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിനുനേരേ തങ്ങളുടെ പുറംകാട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടും കിഴക്കോട്ടു മുഖം തിരിച്ചും നിന്നിരുന്നു. അവർ കിഴക്കോട്ടുനോക്കി സൂര്യനെ നമസ്കരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

17 And He says to me, “Have you seen, son of man? Has it been a light thing to the house of Judah to do the abomination that they have done here, that they have filled the land with violence, and turn back to provoke Me to anger? And behold, they are putting forth the branch to their nose!

അവിടന്ന് എന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു: “മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ ഇതു കാണുന്നോ? യെഹൂദാഗൃഹത്തിന് ഇവിടെ ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ മ്ലേച്ഛതകൾ തീരെ നിസ്സാരമെന്നു തോന്നിയിട്ടോ അവർ ദേശത്തെ അക്രമംകൊണ്ടു നിറയ്ക്കുകയും എന്നെ വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും പ്രകോപിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നത്? നോക്കൂ, അവർ മരച്ചില്ല മൂക്കിൽ തൊടുവിക്കുന്നത്.

18 And I also deal in fury, My eye does not pity, nor do I spare, and they have cried [with] a loud voice in My ears and I do not hear them.”

അതിനാൽ ഞാൻ ക്രോധത്തോടെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കും. എന്റെ കണ്ണുകൾ അവരോട് അനുകമ്പ കാട്ടുകയോ ഞാൻ വിട്ടുവീഴ്ച കാണിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുകയില്ല. അവർ എന്നെ നോക്കി നിലവിളിച്ചാലും ഞാൻ അവരുടെ നിലവിളി കേൾക്കുകയില്ല.”
