Ezekiel 31
1 And it comes to pass, in the eleventh year, in the third [month], on the first of the month, a word of YHWH has been to me, saying,
Nan onzyèm ane, nan twazyèm mwa, nan premye nan mwa a, pawòl SENYÈ a te vin kote mwen. Li te di:
2 “Son of man, say to Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude: To whom have you been like in your greatness?
“Fis a lòm, pale a Farawon, wa Égypte la, ak gwo foul lame li yo: ‘Ak kilès ou sanble nan grandè ou?
3 Behold, Asshur, a cedar in Lebanon, Beautiful in branch, and shading bough, and high in stature, And its foliage has been between thickets.
Gade byen, Assyrie te yon pye sèd nan Liban. Branch li yo te bèl nan lonbraj forè a, e byen wo. Tèt li te rive pami nwaj yo.
4 Waters have made it great, The deep has exalted him with its flowings, Going around its planting, And it has sent forth its conduits to all trees of the field.
Dlo te fè l grandi, pwofondè te fè li wo. Ak rivyè li yo, li te tout tan ap vin elaji lizyè li toupatou. Li te voye kanal li yo nan tout pyebwa chan yo.
5 Therefore his stature has been higher than all trees of the field, And his boughs are multiplied, and his branches are long, Because of many waters in his shooting forth.
Akoz sa, wotè li te piwo ke tout pyebwa chan yo, e branch li yo te vin anpil e byen long akoz anpil dlo ki te fè l gaye yo.
6 Every bird of the heavens has made a nest in his boughs, And every beast of the field has brought forth under his branches, And all great nations dwell in his shade.
Tout zwazo syèl yo te fè nich nan branch li yo. Anba branch sila yo, tout bèt chan yo te vin fè pitit. Tout gran nasyon yo te vin rete anba lonbraj li.
7 And he is beautiful in his greatness, In the length of his thin shoots, For his root has been by great waters.
Konsa, li te bèl nan grandè li, nan longè branch li yo; paske rasin li te lonje rive kote anpil dlo.
8 Cedars have not hid him in the garden of God, Firs have not been like to his boughs, And plane-trees have not been as his branches, No tree in the garden of God has been like to him in his beauty,
Pye sèd nan jaden Bondye yo pa t ka egal ak li. Pye sipre yo pa t ka gen branch tankou l, ni pa t gen lòt bwa ki konpare ak branch li yo. Menm bwa pen an pa t gen branch kon li. Pa t gen pyebwa nan jaden Bondye yo ki ta ka parèy li nan bèlte.
9 I have made him beautiful in the multitude of his thin shoots, And all trees of Eden that [are] in the garden of God envy him.
Mwen te fè l bèl ak fòs kantite branch li yo, e tout pyebwa Éden yo te jalou devan l.’
10 Therefore, thus said Lord YHWH: Because that you have been high in stature, And he yields his foliage between thickets, And his heart is high in his haughtiness,
“Akoz sa, pale Senyè BONDYE a: ‘Akoz li byenwo nan wotè l, te mete tèt li rive pami nwaj yo, e kè l te awogan nan wotè li,
11 I give him into the hand of a god of nations, He deals severely with him, In his wickedness I have cast him out.
pou sa, Mwen va livre li nan men a pi pwisan an a nasyon yo. Li va regle sa nèt. Selon mechanste li, konsa Mwen te chase li.
12 And strangers cut him off, The terrible of nations, and they leave him, His thin shoots have fallen on the mountains and in all valleys, And his boughs are broken at all streams of the land, And all peoples of the land go down from his shade, and they leave him.
Etranje yo, pi pwisan a nasyon yo, te koupe li a tè e te kite li. Sou mòn yo e nan tout vale yo, branch li yo te vin tonbe, e gwo branch li yo te vin kase nan tout ravin peyi yo. Konsa, tout pèp sou latè yo te desann kite lonbraj li e te menm kite li.
13 Every bird of the heavens dwells on his ruin, And all beasts of the field have been on his boughs,
Nan gwo dega li yo, tout zwazo syèl yo va vin demere e tout bèt chan yo va sou branch pa l ki tonbe,
14 In order that none of the trees of the waters May become haughty because of their stature, Nor give their foliage between thickets, Nor any drinking waters stand up to them in their haughtiness, For all of them are given up to death, To the lower earth, In the midst of the sons of men, To those going down to the pit.
pou tout pyebwa akote dlo yo pa ka vin leve tèt yo wo nan wotè yo. Pwisan pa yo p ap mete tèt yo pami nwaj yo, menm sa yo akote sous dlo yo pa ka kanpe dwat nan wotè yo. Paske yo tout te livre a lanmò, pou rive anba tè pami fis a lòm yo, ak sila ki desann nan twou fòs yo.’
15 Thus said Lord YHWH: I have caused mourning in the day of his going down to Sheol, I have covered the deep over him, and diminish its flowings, And many waters are restrained, And I make Lebanon black for him, And all trees of the field [have been] a covering for him. (Sheol h7585)
“Konsa pale Senyè BONDYE a: ‘Nan jou ke li te desann nan sejou mò yo, Mwen te koze lamantasyon. Mwen te fèmen pwofondè a sou li epi te bouche rivyè li yo. Epi anpil dlo li yo Mwen te vin bouche nèt. Mwen te fè Liban kriye ak gwo doulè pou li e tout pyebwa nan chan yo te vin fennen akoz li. (Sheol h7585)
16 I have caused nations to shake at the sound of his fall, In My causing him to go down to Sheol, With those going down to the pit, And all trees of Eden are comforted in the lower earth, The choice and good of Lebanon—All drinking waters. (Sheol h7585)
Mwen te fè tout nasyon yo tranble nan son a chit li a, lè M t ap fè l desann nan sejou mò yo ak sila ki desann nan twou fòs yo. Tout pyebwa byen wouze Liban yo, pi byen chwazi ak pi meyè a Liban yo, te vin rekonfòte anba tè. (Sheol h7585)
17 Those with him have also gone down to Sheol, To the pierced of the sword, And—his arm—they dwelt in his shade in the midst of nations. (Sheol h7585)
Yo menm tou te desann avè l nan sejou mò yo akote sila ki te touye pa nepe yo. Epi sila ki te fòs li yo, te rete anba lonbraj li pami nasyon yo. (Sheol h7585)
18 To whom have you been thus like, In glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? And you have been brought down with the trees of Eden, To the lower earth, You lie in the midst of the uncircumcised, With the pierced of the sword. This [is] Pharaoh, and all his multitude, A declaration of Lord YHWH!”
“‘A kilès nan pyebwa Éden yo ou egal konsa nan glwa ak grandè? Malgre sa, ou va vin desann ak pyebwa Éden yo jis rive anba tè. Ou va vin kouche nan mitan ensikonsi yo, avèk sila ki te touye pa nepe yo. “‘Se konsa Farawon va ye ak tout gwo foul lame li yo!” deklare Senyè BONDYE a.”
