Ezekiel 25

1 And there is a word of YHWH to me, saying,

Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens:

2 “Son of man, set your face toward the sons of Ammon, and prophesy against them;

Fili hominis, pone faciem tuam contra filios Ammon, et prophetabis de eis.

3 and you have said to the sons of Ammon: Hear a word of Lord YHWH! Thus said Lord YHWH: Because of your saying, Aha, to My sanctuary, Because it has been defiled, And to the ground of Israel, Because it has been desolate, And to the house of Judah, Because they have gone into a removal:

Et dices filiis Ammon: [Audite verbum Domini Dei. Hæc dicit Dominus Deus: Pro eo quod dixisti: Euge, euge, super sanctuarium meum, quia pollutum est; et super terram Israël, quoniam desolata est; et super domum Juda, quoniam ducti sunt in captivitatem:

4 Therefore, behold, I am giving you to sons of the east for a possession, And they set their towers in you, And have placed their dwelling places in you. They eat your fruit, and they drink your milk,

idcirco ego tradam te filiis orientalibus in hæreditatem: et collocabunt caulas suas in te, et ponent in te tentoria sua: ipsi comedent fruges tuas, et ipsi bibent lac tuum.

5 And I have given Rabbah for a habitation of camels, And the sons of Ammon for the crouching of a flock, And you have known that I [am] YHWH.

Daboque Rabbath in habitaculum camelorum, et filios Ammon in cubile pecorum: et scietis quia ego Dominus.

6 For thus said Lord YHWH: Because of your clapping the hand, And of your stamping with the foot, And you rejoice with all your despite in soul Against the ground of Israel,

Quia hæc dicit Dominus Deus: Pro eo quod plausisti manu et percussisti pede, et gavisa es ex toto affectu super terram Israël,

7 Therefore, behold, I have stretched out My hand against you, And have given you for a portion to nations, And I have cut you off from the peoples, And caused you to perish from the lands; I destroy you, and you have known that I [am] YHWH.

idcirco ecce ego extendam manum meam super te, et tradam te in direptionem gentium, et interficiam te de populis, et perdam de terris, et conteram: et scies quia ego Dominus.]

8 Thus said Lord YHWH: Because of the saying of Moab and Seir: Behold, the house of Judah [is] as all the nations;

[Hæc dicit Dominus Deus: Pro eo quod dixerunt Moab et Seir: Ecce sicut omnes gentes, domus Juda:

9 Therefore, behold, I am opening the shoulder of Moab—From the cities—from his cities—from his frontier, The beauty of the land, Beth-Jeshimoth, Ba‘al-Meon, and Kiriathaim,

idcirco ecce ego aperiam humerum Moab de civitatibus, de civitatibus, inquam, ejus, et de finibus ejus, inclytas terræ Bethiesimoth, et Beelmeon, et Cariathaim,

10 To the sons of the east, with the sons of Ammon, And I have given it for a possession, So that the sons of Ammon are not remembered among nations.

filiis orientis cum filiis Ammon, et dabo eam in hæreditatem, ut non sit ultra memoria filiorum Ammon in gentibus.

11 And I do judgments in Moab, And they have known that I [am] YHWH.

Et in Moab faciam judicia, et scient quia ego Dominus.]

12 Thus said Lord YHWH: Because of the doings of Edom, In taking vengeance on the house of Judah, Indeed, they are very guilty, And they have taken vengeance on them.

[Hæc dicit Dominus Deus: Pro eo quod fecit Idumæa ultionem ut se vindicaret de filiis Juda, peccavitque delinquens, et vindictam expetivit de eis:

13 Therefore, thus said Lord YHWH: I have stretched out My hand against Edom, And I have cut off man and beast from it, And given it up—a ruin, from Teman even to Dedan, They fall by sword.

idcirco hæc dicit Dominus Deus: Extendam manum meam super Idumæam, et auferam de ea hominem et jumentum, et faciam eam desertam ab austro: et qui sunt in Dedan, gladio cadent.

14 And I have given My vengeance on Edom, By the hand of My people Israel, And they have done in Edom, According to My anger, and according to My fury, And they have known My vengeance, A declaration of Lord YHWH.

Et dabo ultionem meam super Idumæam per manum populi mei Israël: et facient in Edom juxta iram meam et furorem meum, et scient vindictam meam, dicit Dominus Deus.]

15 Thus said Lord YHWH: Because of the doings of the Philistines in vengeance, And they take vengeance with despite in soul, Destruction [with] continuous enmity,

[Hæc dicit Dominus Deus: Pro eo quod fecerunt Palæstini vindictam, et ulti se sunt toto animo, interficientes, et implentes inimicitias veteres,

16 Therefore, thus said Lord YHWH: Behold, I am stretching out My hand against the Philistines, And I have cut off the Cherethim, And destroyed the remnant of the haven of the sea,

propterea hæc dicit Dominus Deus: Ecce ego extendam manum meam super Palæstinos, et interficiam interfectores, et perdam reliquias maritimæ regionis,

17 And done great vengeance on them with furious reproofs, And they have known that I [am] YHWH, In My giving out My vengeance on them!”

faciamque in eis ultiones magnas, arguens in furore: et scient quia ego Dominus, cum dedero vindictam meam super eos.]
