Ezekiel 10

1 And I look, and behold, on the expanse that [is] above the head of the cherubim, as a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne, He has been seen over them.

Je regardai et voici que sur le firmament étendu au-dessus de la tête des chérubins il y avait comme une pierre de saphir: quelque chose qui semblait une forme de trône apparut au-dessus d’eux.

2 And He speaks to the man clothed with linen and says, “Go into the midst of the wheel, to the place of the cherub, and fill your hands with coals of fire from between the cherubim, and scatter over the city.” And he goes in before my eyes.

Et il parla à l’homme revêtu de lin en ces termes: "Entre dans les interstices de la roue au-dessous du chérubin et remplis tes poings de charbons ardents d’entre les chérubins et jette-les sur la ville." Et il entra, à mes yeux.

3 And the cherubim are standing on the right side of the house, at the going in of the man, and the cloud has filled the inner court,

Et les chérubins se tenaient debout à droite du temple, quand entra l’homme, et la nuée remplissait la cour intérieure.

4 and the glory of YHWH becomes high above the cherub, over the threshold of the house, and the house is filled with the cloud, and the court has been filled with the brightness of the glory of YHWH.

Et la gloire de l’Eternel s’éleva de dessus le chérubin sur le seuil du temple, le temple fut rempli par la nuée et la cour fut remplie de la splendeur de la gloire de l’Eternel.

5 And a noise of the wings of the cherubim has been heard in the outer court, as the voice of God—the Mighty One—in His speaking.

Et le bruit des ailes des chérubins s’entendit jusqu’à la cour extérieure comme la voix du Tout-Puissant quand il parle.

6 And it comes to pass, in His commanding the man clothed with linen, saying, “Take fire from between the wheel, from between the cherubim,” and he goes in and stands near the wheel,

Et il advint, quand il eut commandé à l’homme vêtu de lin, en disant: "Prends du feu d’entre les interstices de la roue, d’entre les chérubins", qu’il entra et se tint près de la roue.

7 that the [one] cherub puts forth his hand from between the cherubim to the fire that [is] between the cherubim, and lifts up, and gives [it] into the hands of him who is clothed with linen, and he receives, and comes forth.

Et le chérubin étendit la main d’entre les chérubins vers le feu qui était entre les chérubins; il en enleva et le plaça dans les paumes de l’homme habillé de lin, qui le prit et sortit.

8 And there appears in the cherubim the form of a hand of man under their wings,

Et chez les chérubins apparut la forme d’une main d’homme, sous leurs ailes.

9 and I look, and behold, four wheels near the cherubim, one wheel near one cherub, and another wheel near the other cherub, and the appearance of the wheels [is] as the color of a beryl stone.

Et je vis qu’il y avait quatre roues près des chérubins, une roue près de chaque chérubin, et l’aspect des roues était comme celui de la pierre de Tarchich.

10 And [as for] their appearances, [the] four had one likeness, as it were the wheel in the midst of the wheel.

Quant à leur aspect, il n’y avait qu’une même forme chez toutes les quatre, comme si une roue était engagée dans l’autre.

11 In their going, they go on their four sides; they do not turn around in their going, for to the place to where the head turns, they go after it, they do not turn around in their going.

Dans leur marche, elles allaient dans leurs quatre directions, sans se détourner dans leur marche, car là où se dirigeait la tète, elles marchaient à sa suite sans se détourner dans leur marche.

12 And all their flesh, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, are full of eyes all around—[the] wheels [the] four had.

Et tout leur corps, leur dos, leurs mains, leurs ailes et les roues étaient pleines d’yeux, tout à l’entour, pour les quatre roues.

13 As for the wheels—they were called “Whirling Wheel” in my ears.

A ces roues mêmes fut donné le nom de sphère à mes oreilles.

14 And four faces [are] to each; the face of the first [is] the face of the cherub, and the face of the second [is] the face of man, and of the third the face of a lion, and of the fourth the face of an eagle.

Chacun avait quatre faces. La face du premier était une face de chérubin, la face du second, une face d’homme, du troisième, une face de lion, du quatrième, une face d’aigle.

15 And the cherubim are lifted up, it [is] the living creature that I saw by the river Chebar.

Et les chérubins s’élevèrent, c’était la Haïa que j’avais vue sur le fleuve de Kebar.

16 And in the going of the cherubim, the wheels go beside them; and in the cherubim lifting up their wings to be high above the earth, the wheels do not turn around, even they, from being beside them.

Et quand les chérubins marchaient, les roues marchaient près d’eux et quand les chérubins dressaient leurs ailes pour se soulever de terre, les roues ne se détournaient pas non plus d’auprès d’eux.

17 In their standing they stand, and in their exaltation they are exalted with them: for [the] spirit of the living creature [is] in them.

Quand ils s’arrêtaient, elles s’arrêtaient, et quand ils s’élevaient, elles s’élevaient avec eux, car l’esprit de la Haïa était en eux.

18 And the glory of YHWH goes forth from off the threshold of the house, and stands over the cherubim,

Et la gloire de l’Eternel sortit de dessus le seuil du temple et se tint sur les chérubins.

19 and the cherubim lift up their wings, and are lifted up from the earth before my eyes; in their going forth, the wheels [are] also alongside them, and he stands at the opening of the east gate of the house of YHWH, and the glory of the God of Israel [is] over them from above.

Les chérubins déployèrent les ailes, et s’élevèrent de terre, à mes yeux, en sortant, et les roues étaient auprès d’eux, et ils s’arrêtèrent à l’entrée de la porte du temple de l’Eternel à l’Est, et la gloire du Dieu d’Israël planait sur eux dans les hauteurs.

20 It [is] the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river Chebar, and I know that they are cherubim.

C’Était là la Haïa que j’avais vue sous le Dieu d’Israël près du fleuve de Kebar, et je sus que c’étaient des chérubins.

21 [The] four—each had four faces, and each had four wings, and the likeness of the hands of man [is] under their wings.

Ils avaient chacun quatre faces, et chacun quatre ailes, et des formes de mains d’hommes étaient sous leurs ailes.

22 And the likeness of their faces, they [are] the faces that I saw by the river Chebar, their appearances and themselves; they each go straight forward.

Et l’aspect de leurs faces était celui des faces que j’avais vues sur le fleuve de Kebar; c’était leur aspect, c’étaient eux-mêmes; chacun allait dans la direction de sa face.
