Exodus 9
1 And YHWH says to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh, and you have spoken to him, Thus said YHWH, God of the Hebrews: Send My people away, and they serve Me,
Entonces Yavé dijo a Moisés: Vé a Faraón y dile: Yavé el ʼElohim de los hebreos dice: Deja ir a mi pueblo para que me sirva,
2 for if you are refusing to send [them] away, and are still keeping hold on them,
porque si tú rehúsas dejarlos ir y continúas la retención de ellos,
3 behold, the hand of YHWH is on your livestock which [are] in the field, on horses, on donkeys, on camels, on herd, and on flock—a very grievous pestilence.
ciertamente la mano de Yavé vendrá con una peste muy severa sobre tus ganados que están en el campo, los caballos, los asnos, los camellos, la manada de ganado vacuno y los rebaños.
4 And YHWH has separated between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt, and there does not die a thing of all the sons of Israel;
Pero Yavé hará distinción entre los ganados de Israel y los ganados de Egipto, y nada morirá de todo lo que pertenece a los hijos de Israel.
5 and YHWH sets an appointed time, saying, Tomorrow YHWH does this thing in the land.”
Yavé fijó plazo y dijo: Mañana Yavé hará esto en la tierra.
6 And YHWH does this thing on the next day, and all the livestock of Egypt die, and of the livestock of the sons of Israel not one has died;
Al día siguiente Yavé hizo esto, y todo el ganado de Egipto murió, pero del ganado de los hijos de Israel ni uno murió.
7 and Pharaoh sends, and behold, not even one of the livestock of Israel has died, and the heart of Pharaoh is hard, and he has not sent the people away.
Faraón envió [observadores], y ciertamente del ganado de los hijos de Israel no pereció ni uno. Pero el corazón de Faraón se endureció y no dejó salir al pueblo.
8 And YHWH says to Moses and to Aaron, “Take for yourselves the fullness of your handfuls—soot of a furnace, and Moses has sprinkled it toward the heavens, before the eyes of Pharaoh,
Entonces Yavé dijo a Moisés y a Aarón: Tomen puñados de ceniza de un horno, y que Moisés la lance hacia el cielo en la presencia de Faraón.
9 and it has become small dust over all the land of Egypt, and it has become on man and on livestock a boil breaking forth [with] blisters in all the land of Egypt.”
Se convertirá en un polvo fino sobre toda la tierra de Egipto, el cual ocasionará un sarpullido que producirá úlceras en hombres y bestias en toda la tierra de Egipto.
10 And they take the soot of the furnace, and stand before Pharaoh, and Moses sprinkles it toward the heavens, and it is a boil [with] blisters breaking forth on man and on beast;
Entonces tomaron la ceniza de un horno y se presentaron ante Faraón. Moisés la lanzó hacia el cielo y se formó un sarpullido que produjo úlceras en los hombres y en las bestias.
11 and the enchanters have not been able to stand before Moses because of the boil, for the boil has been on the enchanters, and on all the Egyptians.
Los hechiceros no pudieron permanecer en la presencia de Moisés a causa de las úlceras, pues había úlceras en los hechiceros y en todos los egipcios.
12 And YHWH strengthens the heart of Pharaoh, and he has not listened to them, as YHWH has spoken to Moses.
Pero Yavé endureció el corazón de Faraón, y no los escuchó, según Yavé predijo a Moisés.
13 And YHWH says to Moses, “Rise early in the morning, and station yourself before Pharaoh, and you have said to him, Thus said YHWH, God of the Hebrews: Send My people away, and they serve Me,
Entonces Yavé dijo a Moisés: Levántate de mañana y preséntate a Faraón y dile: Yavé el ʼElohim de los hebreos dice: Deja ir a mi pueblo para que me sirva,
14 for at this time I am sending all My plagues to your heart, and on your servants, and on your people, so that you know that there is none like Me in all the earth,
pues esta vez Yo enviaré todas mis plagas sobre ti, tus esclavos y tu pueblo, para que entiendas que no hay otro como Yo en toda la tierra.
15 for now I have put forth My hand, and I strike you, and your people, with pestilence, and you are hidden from the earth.
Porque ahora Yo hubiera podido extender mi mano para herirte con pestilencia, a ti y a tu pueblo, y serías exterminado de la tierra.
16 And yet for this I have caused you to stand, so as to show you My power, and for the sake of declaring My Name in all the earth;
Pero en verdad, por esto te permití permanecer, para mostrarte mi poder y para proclamar mi Nombre en toda la tierra.
17 still you are exalting yourself against My people—so as not to send them away;
¿Aun te exaltas contra mi pueblo para no dejarlos salir?
18 behold, I am raining very grievous hail about [this] time tomorrow, such as has not been in Egypt from the day of its founding and until now.
Ciertamente, mañana a esta hora enviaré un granizo muy pesado, como nunca hubo en Egipto desde el día cuando se fundó hasta ahora.
19 And now, send, strengthen your livestock and all that you have in the field; every man and beast which is found in the field, and is not gathered into the house—the hail has come down on them, and they have died.”
Por tanto, envía ahora a que recojan tu ganado y lo que tengas en el campo y lo pongan bajo seguridad, porque a toda persona o animal que se halle en el campo y no esté recogido en casa, le caerá el granizo y morirá.
20 He who is fearing the word of YHWH among the servants of Pharaoh has caused his servants and his livestock to flee to the houses;
El que tuvo temor a la Palabra de Yavé de entre los esclavos de Faraón, hizo que sus esclavos y su ganado huyeran a las casas.
21 and he who has not set his heart to the word of YHWH leaves his servants and his livestock in the field.
Pero el que no tomó en cuenta la Palabra de Yavé, dejó a sus esclavos y sus ganados en el campo.
22 And YHWH says to Moses, “Stretch forth your hand toward the heavens, and there is hail in all the land of Egypt, on man, and on beast, and on every herb of the field in the land of Egypt.”
Luego Yavé dijo a Moisés: Extiende tu mano hacia el cielo para que caiga granizo sobre toda la tierra de Egipto, personas, animales y toda planta del campo a través de toda la tierra de Egipto.
23 And Moses stretches out his rod toward the heavens, and YHWH has given voices and hail, and fire goes toward the earth, and YHWH rains hail on the land of Egypt,
Moisés extendió su vara hacia el cielo y Yavé envió truenos y granizo. Cayeron rayos sobre la tierra, y Yavé hizo llover granizo sobre Egipto.
24 and there is hail, and fire catching itself in the midst of the hail, very grievous, such as has not been in all the land of Egypt since it has become a nation.
Así que hubo granizo y fuego que relampagueaba continuamente en medio del granizo, tan severo como nunca lo hubo en toda la tierra de Egipto desde cuando fue una nación.
25 And the hail strikes all that [is] in the field in all the land of Egypt, from man even to beast, and the hail has struck every herb of the field, and it has broken every tree of the field;
Aquel granizo golpeó todo lo que estaba en el campo a través de la tierra de Egipto, tanto hombres como bestias. El granizo destrozó toda planta del campo y desgajó todos los árboles del campo.
26 only in the land of Goshen, where the sons of Israel [are], there has been no hail.
Solo en la tierra de Gosén, donde estaban los hijos de Israel, no hubo granizo.
27 And Pharaoh sends, and calls for Moses and for Aaron, and says to them, “I have sinned this time—YHWH [is] the righteous, and I and my people [are] the wicked,
Entonces Faraón envió a llamar a Moisés y a Aarón y les dijo: Pequé esta vez. Yavé es el Justo, y yo y mi pueblo los perversos.
28 make supplication to YHWH, and plead that there be no voices of God and hail, and I send you away, and you do not add to remain.”
Supliquen a Yavé, porque ha habido suficientes truenos y granizo de ʼElohim. Entonces los dejaré salir y ya no los detendré más.
29 And Moses says to him, “At my going out of the city, I spread my palms to YHWH—the voices cease, and there is no more hail, so that you know that the earth [is] YHWH’s;
Moisés le respondió: Cuando salga de la ciudad extenderé mis manos a Yavé. Los truenos cesarán y no habrá más granizo, para que entiendas que la tierra es de Yavé.
30 but you and your servants—I have known that you are not yet afraid of the face of YHWH God.”
Pero yo sé que ni tú ni tus esclavos temen aún a la Presencia de Yavé ʼElohim.
31 And the flax and the barley have been struck, for the barley [is] budding, and the flax forming flowers,
Así que el lino y la cebada fueron destruidos, porque la cebada estaba ya espigada y el lino en caña,
32 and the wheat and the rye have not been struck, for they are late.
pero el trigo y el centeno no fueron destruidos por ser tardíos.
33 And Moses goes out from Pharaoh, [from] the city, and spreads his hands to YHWH, and the voices and the hail cease, and rain has not been poured out to the earth;
Cuando Moisés salió de la presencia de Faraón y de la ciudad, extendió sus manos hacia Yavé. Cesaron los truenos y el granizo, y la lluvia no cayó más sobre la tierra.
34 and Pharaoh sees that the rain has ceased, and the hail and the voices, and he continues to sin, and hardens his heart, he and his servants;
Pero cuando Faraón vio que la lluvia, el granizo y los truenos cesaron, volvió a pecar y tanto él como sus esclavos endurecieron su corazón.
35 and the heart of Pharaoh is strong, and he has not sent the sons of Israel away, as YHWH has spoken by the hand of Moses.
Así que el corazón de Faraón se endureció y no dejó ir a los hijos de Israel, como Yavé predijo por medio de Moisés.
