Exodus 6

1 And YHWH says to Moses, “Now you see that which I do to Pharaoh, for with a strong hand he sends them away, indeed, with a strong hand he casts them out of his land.”

Et l'Éternel dit à Moïse: Maintenant tu vas voir ce que je ferai à Pharaon; car c'est sous une main forte qu'il les laissera partir, et c'est sous une main forte qu'il les chassera de son pays.

2 And God speaks to Moses and says to him, “I [am] YHWH,

Et Dieu parla à Moïse et lui dit: Je suis l'Éternel.

3 and I appear to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty; as for My Name YHWH, I have not been known to them;

Et je suis apparu à Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob, comme Dieu, le Tout-Puissant, mais je ne fus pas connu d'eux par mon nom d'Éternel.

4 and I have also established My covenant with them, to give the land of Canaan to them, the land of their sojournings, wherein they have sojourned;

J'ai aussi arrêté avec eux mon alliance pour leur donner le pays de Canaan, le pays de leurs pèlerinages, où ils ont séjourné.

5 and I have also heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, whom the Egyptians are causing to serve, and I remember My covenant.

J'ai aussi entendu les gémissements des enfants d'Israël asservis par les Égyptiens, et me suis souvenu de mon alliance.

6 Therefore say to the sons of Israel: I [am] YHWH, and I have brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and have delivered you from their service, and have redeemed you by an outstretched arm, and by great judgments,

En conséquence dis aux enfants d'Israël: Je suis l'Éternel, et je vous soustrairai aux corvées de l'Egypte et vous délivrerai de leur servitude, et vous sauverai avec un bras étendu et de grands jugements,

7 and have taken you to Myself for a people, and I have been to you for God, and you have known that I [am] your God YHWH, who is bringing you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians;

et je vous adopterai comme mon peuple et je serai votre Dieu, et vous sentirez que je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu, qui vous délivrera des fardeaux de l'Egypte.

8 and I have brought you to the land which I have lifted up My hand to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, and have given it to you—a possession; I [am] YHWH.”

Et je vous introduirai dans le pays, dont j'ai, la main levée, fait don à Abraham, Isaac et Jacob, et je vous le donnerai en propriété, moi l'Éternel.

9 And Moses speaks so to the sons of Israel, and they did not listen to Moses, for anguish of spirit, and for harsh service.

Et Moïse parla ainsi aux enfants d'Israël, mais ils n'écoutèrent point Moïse par l'effet de leur impatience et de la dure servitude.

10 And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,

Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse et dit:

11 “Go in, speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he sends the sons of Israel out of his land”;

Va annoncer à Pharaon, roi d'Egypte, qu'il ait à laisser les enfants d'Israël partir de son pays.

12 and Moses speaks before YHWH, saying, “Behold, the sons of Israel have not listened to me, and how does Pharaoh hear me, and I of uncircumcised lips?”

Et Moïse parla en la présence de l'Éternel et dit: Voici, les enfants d'Israël ne m'ont pas écouté, et comment Pharaon m'écouterait-il? Et j'ai des lèvres incirconcises.

13 And YHWH speaks to Moses and to Aaron, and charges them for the sons of Israel, and for Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt.

C'est ainsi que parla l'Éternel à Moïse et à Aaron et qu'il les délégua auprès des enfants d'Israël et de Pharaon, roi d'Egypte, pour retirer du pays d'Egypte les enfants d'Israël.

14 These [are] heads of the house of their fathers. Sons of Reuben firstborn of Israel: Enoch, and Phallu, Hezron, and Carmi; these [are] families of Reuben.

Voici les chefs de leurs maisons patriarcales. Fils de Ruben, premier-né d'Israël: Henoch et Phallu, Hetsron et Charmi; telles sont les familles de Ruben.

15 And sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul, son of the Canaanite; these [are] families of Simeon.

Et les fils de Siméon: Jemuel et Jamin et Ohad et Jachin et Tsohar, et Saul, fils de la Cananéenne; telles sont les familles de Siméon.

16 And these [are] the names of the sons of Levi, as to their births: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari; and the years of the life of Levi [are] one hundred and thirty-seven years.

Et voici les noms des fils de Lévi selon leurs souches: Gerson et Kahath et Merari. Or les années de la vie de Lévi furent au nombre de cent trente-sept ans.

17 The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimi, as to their families.

Les fils de Gerson: Libni et Siméi selon leurs familles.

18 And the sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel; and the years of the life of Kohath [are] one hundred and thirty-three years.

Et les fils de Kahath: Amram et Jitsear et Hébron et Uziel. Or les années de la vie de Kahath furent au nombre de cent trente-trois années.

19 And the sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; these [are] families of Levi, as to their births.

Et les fils de Merari: Maheli et Musi; telles sont les familles de Lévi selon leurs souches.

20 And Amram takes his aunt Jochebed to himself for a wife, and she bears Aaron and Moses to him; and the years of the life of Amram [are] one hundred and thirty-seven years.

Et Amram prit Jochbed, sa tante, pour femme, et elle lui enfanta Aaron et Moïse. Or les années de la vie d'Amram furent au nombre de cent trente-sept années.

21 And sons of Izhar: Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri.

Et les fils de Jitsear: Coré et Nepheg et Zichri.

22 And sons of Uzziel: Mishael, and Elzaphan, and Sithri.

Et les fils d'Uziel: Misael et Eltsaphan et Sithri.

23 And Aaron takes Elisheba daughter of Amminadab, sister of Naashon, to himself for a wife, and she bears to him Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

Et Aaron prit pour femme Eliseba, fille de Amminadab, sœur de Nahson, et elle lui enfanta Nadab et Abihu, Eléazar et Ithamar.

24 And sons of Korah: Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph; these [are] families of the Korahite.

Et les fils de Coré: Assir et Elkana et Abiasaph; telles sont les familles des Coraïtes.

25 And Eleazar, Aaron’s son, has taken to himself [one] of the daughters of Putiel for a wife for himself, and she bears Phinehas to him; these [are] heads of the fathers of the Levites, as to their families.

Et Eléazar, fils d'Aaron, se choisit une femme parmi les filles de Putiel et elle lui enfanta Phinées. Tels sont les chefs des maisons patriarcales des Lévites selon leurs origines.

26 This [is] Aaron—and Moses—to whom YHWH said, “Bring out the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, by their hosts”;

C'est cet Aaron et ce Moïse à qui l'Éternel dit: Faites sortir du pays d'Egypte les enfants d'Israël selon leurs divisions.

27 these are they who are speaking to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the sons of Israel from Egypt, this [is] Moses—and Aaron.

Ce sont eux qui s'adressèrent à Pharaon, roi d'Egypte, pour faire sortir de l'Egypte les enfants d'Israël; c'est ce même Moïse et ce même Aaron.

28 And it comes to pass in the day of YHWH’s speaking to Moses in the land of Egypt,

Et il arriva que dans le temps où l'Éternel adressa la parole à Moïse dans le pays d'Egypte,

29 that YHWH speaks to Moses, saying, “I [am] YHWH, speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I am speaking to you.”

l'Éternel dit à Moïse ces paroles: Je suis l'Éternel. Dis à Pharaon, roi d'Egypte, tout ce que je te dis.

30 And Moses says before YHWH, “Behold, I [am] of uncircumcised lips, and how does Pharaoh listen to me?”

Et Moïse dit en la présence de l'Éternel: Voici, j'ai des lèvres incirconcises, comment donc Pharaon m'écouterait-il?
