Exodus 32
1 And the people see that Moses is delaying to come down from the mountain, and the people assemble against Aaron, and say to him, “Rise, make gods for us, who go before us, for this Moses—the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt—we have not known what has happened to him.”
௧மோசே மலையிலிருந்து இறங்கிவரத் தாமதிக்கிறதை மக்கள் கண்டபோது, அவர்கள் ஆரோனிடம் கூட்டம்கூடி. அவனை நோக்கி: “எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து எங்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டு வந்த அந்த மோசேக்கு என்ன நடந்ததோ அறியோம்; ஆதலால் நீர் எழுந்து எங்களுக்கு முன்னேசெல்லும் தெய்வங்களை எங்களுக்காக உண்டாக்கும்” என்றார்கள்.
2 And Aaron says to them, “Break off the rings of gold which [are] in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring [them] to me”;
௨அதற்கு ஆரோன்: “உங்களுடைய மனைவிகள், மகன்கள் மற்றும் மகள்களுடைய காதுகளில் இருக்கிற தங்க ஆபரணங்களை கழற்றி, என்னிடம் கொண்டுவாருங்கள்” என்றான்.
3 and all the people break off the rings of gold which [are] in their ears, and bring [them] to Aaron,
௩மக்கள் எல்லோரும் தங்களுடைய காதுகளில் இருந்த ஆபரணங்களைக் கழற்றி, ஆரோனிடம் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.
4 and he receives [it] from their hand, and fashions it with an engraving tool, and makes it [into] a molten calf, and they say, “These [are] your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!”
௪அவர்களுடைய கையிலிருந்து அவன் அந்தப் தங்கங்களை வாங்கி, சிற்பக்கருவியைக் கூர்மையாக்கி, ஒரு கன்றுக்குட்டியை வார்ப்பித்தான். அப்பொழுது அவர்கள்: “இஸ்ரவேலர்களே, உங்களை எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்த உங்களுடைய தெய்வங்கள் இவைகளே” என்றார்கள்.
5 And Aaron sees, and builds an altar before it, and Aaron calls, and says, “A festival to YHWH—tomorrow”;
௫ஆரோன் அதைப் பார்த்து, அதற்கு முன்பாக ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டி, “நாளைக்குக் யெகோவாவுக்குப் பண்டிகை” என்று கூறினான்.
6 and they rise early on the next day, and cause burnt-offerings to ascend, and bring peace-offerings near; and the people sit down to eat and to drink, and rise up to play.
௬மறுநாள் அவர்கள் அதிகாலையில் எழுந்து, சர்வாங்கதகனபலிகளையிட்டு, சமாதானபலிகளைச் செலுத்தினார்கள்; பின்பு, மக்கள் சாப்பிடவும், குடிக்கவும் உட்கார்ந்து, விளையாட எழுந்தார்கள்.
7 And YHWH says to Moses, “Go, descend, for your people whom you have brought up out of the land of Egypt have done corruptly,
௭அப்பொழுது யெகோவா மோசேயை நோக்கி: “நீ இறங்கிப்போ; எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து நீ நடத்திக்கொண்டுவந்த உன்னுடைய மக்கள் தங்களைக் கெடுத்துக்கொண்டார்கள்.
8 they have quickly turned aside from the way that I have commanded them; they have made a molten calf for themselves, and bow themselves to it, and sacrifice to it, and say, These [are] your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!”
௮அவர்களுக்கு நான் விதித்த வழியை அவர்கள் சீக்கிரமாக விட்டு விலகினார்கள்; அவர்கள் தங்களுக்கு ஒரு கன்றுக்குட்டியை வார்ப்பித்து, அதைப் பணிந்துகொண்டு, அதற்குப் பலியிட்டு: இஸ்ரவேலர்களே உங்களை எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்த உங்களுடைய தெய்வங்கள் இவைகளே என்று சொன்னார்கள்” என்றார்.
9 And YHWH says to Moses, “I have seen this people, and behold, it [is] a stiff-necked people;
௯பின்னும் யெகோவா மோசேயை நோக்கி: “இந்த மக்களைப் பார்த்தேன்; இவர்கள் பிடிவாதமுள்ள மக்கள்.
10 and now, leave Me alone, and My anger burns against them, and I consume them, and I make you become a great nation.”
௧0ஆகையால் என்னுடைய கோபம் இவர்கள்மேல் வரவும், நான் இவர்களை அழித்துப்போடவும் நீ என்னை விட்டுவிடு; உன்னை ஒரு பெரிய தேசமாக்குவேன்” என்றார்.
11 And Moses appeases the face of his God YHWH and says, “Why, O YHWH, does Your anger burn against Your people, whom You have brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a strong hand?
௧௧மோசே தன்னுடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை நோக்கி: “யெகோவாவே, தேவரீர் மகா பெலத்தினாலும் வல்லமையுள்ள கையினாலும் எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படச்செய்த உம்முடைய மக்களுக்கு விரோதமாக உம்முடைய கோபம் பற்றியெரிவது ஏன்?
12 Why do the Egyptians speak, saying, He brought them out in calamity to slay them among mountains, and to consume them from off the face of the ground? Turn back from the heat of Your anger, and relent from this calamity against Your people.
௧௨மலைகளில் அவர்களைக் கொன்றுபோடவும், பூமியின்மேல் இல்லாதபடி அவர்களை அழிக்கவும், அவர்களுக்குத் தீங்குசெய்வதற்காகவே அவர்களைப் புறப்படச்செய்தார் என்று எகிப்தியர்கள் சொல்லுவானேன்? உம்முடைய கடுங்கோபத்தைவிட்டுத் திரும்பி, உமது மக்களுக்குத் தீங்குசெய்யாதபடி, அவர்கள்மேல் பரிதாபம்கொள்ளும்.
13 Be mindful of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, Your servants, to whom You have sworn by Yourself, and to whom You speak: I multiply your seed as stars of the heavens, and all this land, as I have said, I give to your seed, and they have inherited [it] for all time”;
௧௩உமது ஊழியக்காரர்களாகிய ஆபிரகாமையும், ஈசாக்கையும், இஸ்ரவேலையும் நினைத்தருளும்: உங்களுடைய சந்ததியை வானத்து நட்சத்திரங்களைப்போலப் பெருகச்செய்து, நான் சொன்ன இந்த தேசம் முழுவதையும் உங்கள் சந்ததியார்கள் என்றைக்கும் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளும்படி, அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பேன் என்று உம்மைக்கொண்டு அவர்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்டுச் சொன்னீரே” என்று கெஞ்சிப் பிரார்த்தனை செய்தான்.
14 and YHWH relents from the evil which He has spoken of doing to His people.
௧௪அப்பொழுது யெகோவா தமது மக்களுக்குச் செய்ய நினைத்த தீங்கைச்செய்யாதபடி பரிதாபங்கொண்டார்.
15 And Moses turns, and goes down from the mountain, and the two tablets of the Testimony [are] in his hand, tablets written on both their sides; they [are] written on this [side] and on that [side];
௧௫பின்பு மோசே மலையிலிருந்து இறங்கினான்; சாட்சிப்பலகைகள் இரண்டும் அவனுடைய கையில் இருந்தது; அந்தப் பலகைகள் இருபுறமும் எழுதப்பட்டிருந்தது, அவைகள் இந்தப்பக்கத்திலும் அந்தப்பக்கத்திலும் எழுதப்பட்டிருந்தது.
16 and the tablets are the work of God, and the writing is the writing of God, engraved on the tablets.
௧௬அந்தப் பலகைகள் தேவனால் செய்யப்பட்டதாகவும், அவைகளிலே பதிந்த எழுத்து தேவனால் எழுதப்பட்ட எழுத்தாகவும் இருந்தது.
17 And Joshua hears the voice of the people in their shouting and says to Moses, “A noise of battle in the camp!”
௧௭மக்கள் ஆரவாரம் செய்கிறதை யோசுவா கேட்டு, மோசேயை நோக்கி: “முகாமில் யுத்தத்தின் இரைச்சல் உண்டாயிருக்கிறது” என்றான்.
18 And he says, “It is not the voice of the crying of might, nor is it the voice of the crying of weakness—I am hearing a voice of singing.”
௧௮அதற்கு மோசே: “அது வெற்றியின் சத்தமும் அல்ல, தோல்வியின் சத்தமும் அல்ல; பாடலின் சத்தம் எனக்குக் கேட்கிறது” என்றான்.
19 And it comes to pass, when he has drawn near to the camp, that he sees the calf, and the dancing, and the anger of Moses burns, and he casts the tablets out of his hands, and breaks them below the mountain;
௧௯அவன் முகாமிற்கு அருகே, அந்தக் கன்றுக்குட்டியையும் நடனத்தையும் கண்டபோது, மோசே கோபமடைந்தவனாய், தன்னுடைய கையிலே இருந்த பலகைகளை மலையின் அடியிலே வீசி உடைத்துப்போட்டு;
20 and he takes the calf which they have made, and burns [it] with fire, and grinds [it] until [it is] small, and scatters [it] on the face of the waters, and causes the sons of Israel to drink.
௨0அவர்கள் உண்டாக்கின கன்றுக்குட்டியை எடுத்து, அக்கினியில் சுட்டெரித்து, அதைப் பொடியாக அரைத்து, தண்ணீரின்மேல் தூவி, அதை இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் குடிக்கும்படி செய்தான்.
21 And Moses says to Aaron, “What has this people done to you, that you have brought in a great sin on it?”
௨௧பின்பு, மோசே ஆரோனை நோக்கி: “நீ இந்த மக்கள்மேல் இந்தப் பெரிய பாவத்தைச் சுமத்துகிறதற்கு, இவர்கள் உனக்கு என்ன செய்தார்கள்” என்றான்.
22 And Aaron says, “Do not let the anger of my lord burn; you have known the people, that it [is beset] with evil;
௨௨அதற்கு ஆரோன்: “என்னுடைய ஆண்டவனுக்குக் கோபம் வராமல் இருப்பதாக; இது பொல்லாத மக்கள் என்று நீர் அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்.
23 and they say to me, Make gods for us, who go before us, for this Moses—the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt—we have not known what has happened to him;
௨௩இவர்கள் என்னை நோக்கி: எங்களுக்கு முன்னேசெல்லும் தெய்வங்களை எங்களுக்கு உண்டாக்கும்; எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து எங்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்த அந்த மோசேக்கு என்ன நடந்ததோ அறியோம்” என்றார்கள்.
24 and I say to them, Whoever has gold, let them break [it] off, and they give [it] to me, and I cast it into the fire, and this calf comes out.”
௨௪அப்பொழுது நான்: தங்கங்களை உடையவர்கள் எவர்களோ அவர்கள் அதைக் கழற்றித் தரவேண்டும் என்றேன்; அவர்கள் அப்படியே செய்தார்கள்; அதை அக்கினியிலே போட்டேன், அதிலிருந்து இந்தக் கன்றுக்குட்டி வந்தது என்றான்.
25 And Moses sees the people, that it [is] unbridled, for Aaron has made it unbridled for contempt among its withstanders,
௨௫மக்கள் தங்களுடைய எதிரிகளுக்குள் அவமானப்படத்தக்கதாக ஆரோன் அவர்களை நிர்வாணமாக்கியிருந்தான். அவர்கள் நிர்வாணமாக இருக்கிறதை மோசே கண்டு,
26 and Moses stands in the gate of the camp and says, “Who [is] for YHWH? [Come] to me!” And all the sons of Levi are gathered to him;
௨௬முகாமின் வாசலில் நின்று: “யெகோவாவின் பக்கம் இருக்கிறவர்கள் யார்? அவர்கள் என்னிடம் சேரவேண்டும்” என்றான். அப்பொழுது லேவியர்கள் எல்லோரும் அவனிடம் கூடிவந்தார்கள்.
27 and he says to them, “Thus said YHWH, God of Israel: Each put his sword by his thigh, pass over and turn back from gate to gate through the camp, and each slay his brother, and each his friend, and each his relation.”
௨௭அவன் அவர்களை நோக்கி: “உங்களில் ஒவ்வொருவனும் தன்னுடைய பட்டயத்தைத் தன்னுடைய இடுப்பிலே கட்டிக்கொண்டு, முகாமெங்கும் உள்ளும் வெளியும் வாசலுக்கு வாசல் போய், ஒவ்வொருவனும் தன் தன் சகோதரனையும், ஒவ்வொருவனும் தன் தன் நண்பர்களையும், ஒவ்வொருவனும் தன் தன் அயலானையும் கொன்றுபோடவேண்டும் என்று இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்” என்றான்.
28 And the sons of Levi do according to the word of Moses, and there falls of the people on that day about three thousand men,
௨௮லேவியர்கள் மோசே சொன்னபடியே செய்தார்கள்; அந்தநாளில் மக்களில் ஏறக்குறைய 3,000 பேர் இறந்தார்கள்.
29 and Moses says, “Consecrate your hand to YHWH today, for a man [is] against his son, and against his brother, so as to bring a blessing on you today.”
௨௯“யெகோவா இன்றைக்கு உங்களுக்கு ஆசீர்வாதம் அளிக்கும்படி, இன்றைக்கு நீங்கள் அவனவன் தன் தன் மகனுக்கும் சகோதரனுக்கும் விரோதமாக இருக்கிறதினால், யெகோவாவுக்கு உங்களைப் பிரதிஷ்டைசெய்யுங்கள்” என்று மோசே சொல்லியிருந்தான்.
30 And it comes to pass, on the next day, that Moses says to the people, “You have sinned a great sin, and now I go up to YHWH, perhaps I can atone for your sin.”
௩0மறுநாளில் மோசே மக்களை நோக்கி: “நீங்கள் மகா பெரிய பாவம் செய்தீர்கள்; உங்களுக்காகப் பாவநிவிர்த்தி செய்யக்கூடுமோ என்று அறிய இப்பொழுது நான் யெகோவாவினிடத்திற்கு ஏறிப்போகிறேன்” என்றான்.
31 And Moses turns back to YHWH and says, “Ah, now this people has sinned a great sin, that they make a god of gold for themselves;
௩௧அப்படியே மோசே யெகோவாவிடத்திற்குத் திரும்பிப்போய்: “ஐயோ, இந்த மக்கள் தங்கத்தினால் தங்களுக்குத் தெய்வங்களை உண்டாக்கி, மகா பெரியபாவம் செய்திருக்கிறார்கள்.
32 and now, if You take away their sin—and if not—please blot me out of Your scroll which You have written.”
௩௨ஆகிலும், தேவரீர் அவர்களுடைய பாவத்தை மன்னித்தருளுவீரானால் மன்னித்தருளும்; இல்லாவிட்டால் நீர் எழுதின உம்முடைய புத்தகத்திலிருந்து என்னுடைய பெயரைக் கிறுக்கிப்போடும்” என்றான்.
33 And YHWH says to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against Me—I blot him out of My scroll;
௩௩அப்பொழுது யெகோவா மோசேயை நோக்கி: “எனக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவம் செய்தவன் எவனோ, அவனுடைய பெயரை என்னுடைய புத்தகத்திலிருந்து கிறுக்கிப்போடுவேன்.
34 and now, go, lead the people wherever I have spoken to you of; behold, My Messenger goes before you, and in the day of my charging—then I have charged their sin on them.”
௩௪இப்பொழுது நீ போய், நான் உனக்குச் சொன்ன இடத்திற்கு மக்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோ; என்னுடைய தூதனானவர் உனக்குமுன்பு செல்லுவார்; ஆகிலும், நான் விசாரிக்கும் நாளில் அவர்களுடைய பாவத்தை அவர்களிடத்தில் விசாரிப்பேன்” என்றார்.
35 And YHWH plagues the people because they made the calf which Aaron made.
௩௫ஆரோன் செய்த கன்றுக்குட்டியை மக்கள் செய்யவைத்ததால் யெகோவா அவர்களை வாதித்தார்.
