Exodus 28
1 “And you, bring your brother Aaron near to you, and his sons with him, from the midst of the sons of Israel, for his being priest to Me, [even] Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar, sons of Aaron;
Umuite Aruni kaka yako na wana wake - Nadabu, na Abihu, na Eleazari, na Ithamari - miongoni mwa wana wa Israeli, ili anitumikie katika kazi ya ukuhani.
2 and you have made holy garments for your brother Aaron, for glory and for beauty;
Nawe utamfanyia Aruni ndugu yako mavazi matakatifu, kwa utukufu na kwa uzuri.
3 and you speak to all the wise of heart, whom I have filled [with] a spirit of wisdom, and they have made the garments of Aaron to sanctify him for his being priest to Me.
Nawe utawaambia watu wote wenye moyo wa hekima, niliowajaza na roho ya hekima wamfanyie Aruni mavazi ili kumtakasa anitumikie katika kazi ya ukuhani.
4 And these [are] the garments which they make: a breastplate, and an ephod, and an upper robe, and an embroidered coat, a turban, and a girdle; indeed, they have made holy garments for your brother Aaron, and for his sons, for his being priest to Me.
Na mavazi watakayoyafanya ni kifuko cha kifuani, na naivera, na joho, na kanzu ya kazi ya urembo, na kilemba, na mshipi; nao watawafanyia Aruni nduguye, na wanawe, mavazi matakatifu ili anitumikie katika kazi ya ukuhani.
5 And they take the gold, and the blue, and the purple, and the scarlet, and the linen,
Nao wataitwaa dhahabu, na nguo ya rangi ya samawi, na ya rangi ya zambarau, na ya rangi nyekundu.
6 and have made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined linen, the work of a designer;
Nao waifanye naivera kwa nyuzi za dhahabu, na za samawi, na za zambarau, na nyekundu, na kitani nzuri yenye kusokotwa kwa kazi ya mstadi.
7 it has two shoulders joining at its two ends, and it is joined.
Lazima itakuwa na vipande viwili vya mabegani, vilivyoungana kwenye ncha zake mbili; ili ipate kuunganywa.
8 And the girdle of his ephod which [is] on him, according to its work, is of the same, of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined linen.
Na mshipi wa kazi ya ustadi ulio juu yake, ili kuifunga mahali pake; utakuwa wa kazi kama ile ya naivera, ya vitu vile vile ya nyuzi za dhahabu, na za rangi ya samawi, na ya zambarau, na nyekundu, na kitani nzuri yenye kusokotwa.
9 And you have taken the two shoham stones, and have engraved the names of the sons of Israel on them;
Nawe utatwaa vito viwili vya shohamu, ya rangi ya chani-kiwiti, nawe utachora juu yake majina ya wana wa Israeli;
10 six of their names on the first stone, and the names of the remaining six on the second stone, according to their births;
Majina yao sita katika kito kimoja, na majina sita yaliyosalia katika kile kito cha pili, kwa utaratibu wa kuzaliwa kwao.
11 the work of an engraver of stone, [as] engravings of a signet—you engrave the names of the sons of Israel on the two stones; encompassing, you make them [with] filigrees of gold.
Kwa kazi mtu mwenye kuchora mawe kama vile muhuri ichorwavyo, utavichora hivi vito viwili, sawasawa na majina ya wana wa Israeli, nawe utavitia katika vijalizo vya dhahabu.
12 And you have set the two stones on the shoulders of the ephod—stones of memorial to the sons of Israel—and Aaron has borne their names before YHWH, on his two shoulders, for a memorial.
Nawe utavitia vile vito viwili juu ya vipande vya mabegani vya hiyo naivera, viwe vito vya ukumbusho kwa ajili ya wana wa Israeli. Naye Aruni atayachukua majina yao mbele za Yahweh juu ya mabega yake mawili ili kuwa ukumbusho.
13 And you have made filigrees of gold,
Nawe fanya vijalizo viwili vya dhahabu
14 and you make them [with] two chains of pure gold [as] wreathed work, work of thick bands, and you have put the thick chains on the filigrees.
na mikufu miwili ya dhahabu safi; utaifanya iwe mfano wa kamba, ya kazi ya kusokotwa; nawe uitie ile mikufu ya kazi ya kusokotwa katika vile vijalizo.
15 And you have made a breastplate of judgment, the work of a designer; you make it according to the work of the ephod; you make it of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined linen;
Nawe lazima utafanya kifuko cha kifuani cha hukumu, kazi ya fundi stadi; utakifanya kwa kuiandama ile kazi ya hiyo naivera. Fanya nyuzi za dhahabu, na za rangi ya samawi, na za rangi ya zambarau, na nyekundu, na kitani safi yenye kusokotwa, ndivyo utakavyokifanya.
16 it is square, doubled, a span its length, and a span its breadth.
Kitakuwa mraba, tena cha kukunjwa; urefu wake utakuwa shibiri moja, na upana wake shibiri moja.
17 And you have set settings of stone in it, four rows of stone: a row of sardius, topaz, and carbuncle [is] the first row;
Nawe ukijaze viweko vya vito, safu nne za vito; safu moja itakuwa ni akiki, na yakuti ya rangi ya manjano, na baharamani, hivi vitakuwa safu ya kwanza.
18 and the second row [is] emerald, sapphire, and diamond;
Na safu ya pili itakuwa zumaridi, na yakuti samawi, na almasi.
19 and the third row [is] opal, agate, and amethyst;
Na safu ya tatu itakuwa hiakintho, na akiki nyekundu, na amethisto.
20 and the fourth row [is] beryl, and onyx, and jasper; they are embroidered with gold in their settings,
Na safu ya nne itakuwa ni zabarajadi, na shohamu, na yaspi. Vito hivyo vitakazwa ndani ya dhahabu kwa kujaa mahali pake.
21 and the stones are according to the names of the sons of Israel, twelve according to their names, [as] engravings of a signet, each with his name; they are for the twelve tribes.
Na vile vito vitakuwa sawasawa na majina ya wana wa Israeli, kumi na viwili, sawasawa na majina yao. Mfano wa kuchora kwa muhuri kila kimoja sawasawa na jina lake, vitakuwa vya hizo kabila kumi na mbili.
22 And you have made wreathed chains on the breastplate, [the] work of thick bands of pure gold;
Nawe lazima utie katika kile kifuko cha kifuani mikufu mfano wa kamba, ya kazi ya kusokotwa, ya dhahabu safi.
23 and you have made two rings of gold on the breastplate, and have put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate;
Nawe utie maduara mawili ya dhahabu katika kile kifuko cha kifuani, na kuzitia hizo pete mbili katika ncha mbili za kifuko cha kifuani.
24 and you have put the two thick bands of gold on the two rings at the ends of the breastplate;
Nawe utie hiyo mikufu miwili ya dhahabu iliyosokotwa katika zile pete mbili zilizo katika ncha za kifuko cha kifuani.
25 and you put the two ends of the two thick bands on the two filigrees, and you have put [them] on the shoulders of the ephod toward the front of its face.
Na ncha zile nyingine za hiyo mikufu miwili ya kusokotwa utazitia katika vile vijalizo viwili, na kuvitia katika vile vipande vya mabegani vya naivera upande wa mbele.
26 And you have made two rings of gold, and have set them on the two ends of the breastplate, on its border, which [is] toward the side of the ephod within it;
Nawe utafanya viduara vili vya dhahabu, uzitie katika hizo ncha mbili za kifuko cha kifuani, katika ukingo wake.
27 and you have made two rings of gold, and have put them on the two shoulders of the ephod, from beneath, in front of its face, close by its joining, above the girdle of the ephod,
Nawe lazima ufanye viduara vili vya dhahabu, na kuzitia katika vile vipande viwili vya mabegani vya ile naivera chini yake, upande wa mbele, karibu na kifungo chake, juu ya huo mshipi wa naivera uliosukwa kwa ustadi.
28 and they bind the breastplate by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a ribbon of blue, to be above the girdle of the ephod, and the breastplate is not loosed from the ephod.
Nao watakikaza kile kileso kwa vile viduara vyake kwenye viduara za naivera kwa ukanda wa rangi ya samawi, ili kwamba kikae pale juu ya ule mshipi wa naivera uliosukwa kwa ustadi, ili kwamba kifuko cha kifuani kisiachane na naivera.
29 And Aaron has borne the names of the sons of Israel in the breastplate of judgment, on his heart, in his going into the holy place, for a memorial before YHWH continually.
Na Aruni atayachukua majina ya wana wa Israeli katika kile kifuko cha kifuani cha hukumu juu ya moyo wake kwa kufanya maamuzi, hapo atakapoingia ndani ya mahali patakatifu, kuwa ukumbusho mbele yaYahweh daima.
30 And you have put the Lights and the Perfections into the breastplate of judgment, and they have been on the heart of Aaron, in his going in before YHWH, and Aaron has borne the judgment of the sons of Israel on his heart before YHWH continually.
Nawe utie hizo Urimu na Thumimu katika kile kifuko cha kifuani cha hukumu; nazo zitakuwa juu ya moyo wa Aruni, hapo atakapoingia ndani mbele ya Yahweh na Aruni atachukua hukumu ya hao wana wa Israeli juu ya moyo wake mbele ya Yahweh daima.
31 And you have made the upper robe of the ephod completely of blue,
Nawe fanya hiyo joho ya naivera ya rangi ya samawi yote.
32 and the opening for his head has been in its midst; there is a border for its opening all around—the work of a weaver—[and] there is as the opening of a [linen] habergeon for it; it is not torn.
Nayo itakuwa na tundu katikati yake kwa kupitisha kichwa; itakuwa na utepe wa kazi ya kusokotwa kuzunguka hilo tundu lake, mfano wa tundu lililo katika kanzu ya chuma, ili lisipasuke.
33 And you have made on its hem pomegranates of blue, and purple, and scarlet, on its hem all around, and bells of gold in their midst all around;
Nawe katika pindo zake utatia makomamanga ya rangi ya samawi, na ya rangi ya zambarau, na ya rangi nyekundu, kuzunguka pindo zake kotekote; na njuga za dhahabu kati ya hayo makomamanga pande zote.
34 a bell of gold and a pomegranate [and] a bell of gold and a pomegranate [are] on the hems of the upper robe all around.
Kengele ya dhahabu na komamanga, kengele ya dhahabu na komamanga, katika pindo za joho kuizunguka pande zote.
35 And it has been on Aaron to minister in, and its sound has been heard in his coming into the holy place before YHWH, and in his going out, and he does not die.
Nayo itakuwa juu ya Aruni akitumika; na sauti ya hizo kengele itasikilikana hapo aingiapo ndani ya mahali patakatifu mbele ya Yahweh na hapo atokapo nje, ili kwamba asife.
36 And you have made a flower of pure gold, and have engraved engravings of a signet on it: Holy to YHWH;
Nawe fanya bamba la dhahabu safi na kuchora juu yake, mfano wa machoro ya muhuri, “Mtakatifu kwa Yahweh.”
37 and you have put it on a blue ribbon, and it has been on the turban—it is toward the front of the face of the turban;
Nawe ulitie hilo bamba katika ukanda wa rangi ya samawi, nalo litakuwa katika kile kilemba; litakuwa upande wa mbele wa kile kilemba.
38 and it has been on the forehead of Aaron, and Aaron has borne the iniquity of the holy things which the sons of Israel hallow, even all their holy gifts; and it has been on his forehead continually for a pleasing thing for them before YHWH.
Nalo litakuwa katika kipaji cha uso cha Aruni, na Aruni atauchukua uovu wa vile vitu vitakatifu, watakavyovitakasa hao wana wa Israeli katika vipawa vyao vyote vitakatifu, nalo litakuwa katika kipaji chake cha uso sikuzote, ili kwamba vipate kukubaliwa mbele za Yahweh.
39 And you have embroidered the coat of linen, and have made a turban of linen, and you make a girdle—the work of an embroiderer.
Na hiyo kanzu utaifuma ya kitani nzuri ya kazi ya urembo, ufanye na kilemba cha nguo ya kitani nzuri, nawe utafanya mshipi wa kazi ya mwenye kutia taraza.
40 And you make coats for the sons of Aaron, and you have made girdles for them, and you make caps for them, for glory and for beauty;
Kisha utafany kanzu kwa ajili ya wana wa Aruni, nawe wafanyie mishipi, wafanyie na kofia kwa utukufu na uzuri.
41 and you have clothed your brother Aaron with them, and his sons with him, and have anointed them, and have consecrated their hand, and have sanctified them, and they have been priests to Me.
Nawe mvike huyo nduguye Aruni na wanawe nao mavazi hayo; nawe watie mafuta, na kuwaweka kwa kazi takatifu, na kuwatakasa, ili wapate kunitumikia mimi katika kazi ya ukuhani.
42 And make linen trousers for them to cover the naked flesh; they are from the loins even to the thighs;
Nawe wafanyie suruali za nguo ya kitani, ili kufunika tupu ya miili yao; suruali hizo zitafika tangu kiunoni hata mapajani.
43 and they have been on Aaron and on his sons in their going into the Tent of Meeting, or in their drawing near to the altar to minister in the holy place, and they do not bear iniquity nor have they died; [it is] a continuous statute to him and to his seed after him.”
Aruni na wanawe watazivaa, hapo watakapoingia katika hema ya kukutania, au hapo watakapoikaribia madhabahu ili watumike katika mahali patakatifu; wasije wakachukua uovu, wakafa; hii itakuwa ni amri ya milele kwake yeye, na kwa wazao wake.
