Exodus 22
1 When a man steals an ox or sheep, and has slaughtered it or sold it, he repays [with] five of the herd for the ox, and four of the flock for the sheep.
Hlang loh vaito khaw, tu khaw a huen tih a ngawn akhaw, a yoih akhaw vaito ham te saelhung panga neh tu ham boiva pumli neh thuung saeh.
2 If in the breaking through, the thief is found, and he has been struck and has died, there is no blood for him;
Umlawt ah hlanghuen a hmuh tih a boh vaengah a duek atah a taengah thii kap boel saeh.
3 if the sun has risen on him, blood [is] for him, he certainly repays; if he has nothing, then he has been sold for his theft;
Khomik a thoeng atah a soah thii kap saeh lamtah aka huen loh sah rhoe sah saeh. A khueh pawt atah a huen dongah amah khaw yoi uh saeh.
4 if the theft is certainly found alive in his hand, whether ox, or donkey, or sheep—he repays double.
A huen te a kut dongah a hmuh la a hmuh atah vaito khaw, laak khaw, tu khaw a hing neh rhaepnit la sah saeh.
5 When a man depastures a field or vineyard, and has sent out his beast, and it has pastured in the field of another, he repays [with] the best of his field, and the best of his vineyard.
Hlang loh lohma neh misurdum a laem sak vaengah a rhamsa te a hlah tih a rhamsa loh a tloe lohma li te a laem pa atah a khohmuen lamkah a then, a misurdum kah aka then neh thuung saeh.
6 When fire goes forth and has found thorns, and a stack, or the standing grain, or the field has been consumed, he who causes the burning certainly repays.
Hmai puek tih hling a dom vaengah canghlom neh canghli khaw, lohma khaw, a hlawp atah hmai aka hlong loh sah rhoe sah saeh.
7 When a man gives silver or vessels to his neighbor to keep, and it has been stolen out of the man’s house; if the thief is found, he repays double.
Hlang loh a hui te tangka khaw hnopai khaw khoembael sak ham a paek. Tedae im lamkah te hlang loh a huen tih hlanghuen te a hmuh atah a rhaep la thuung saeh.
8 If the thief is not found, then the master of the house has been brought near to God [to see] whether he has not put forth his hand against the work of his neighbor.
Hlanghuen te a hmuh pawt atah a hui kah hno dongah a kut hlah pawt cakhaw im kung te Pathen taengla kun saeh.
9 For every matter of transgression, for ox, for donkey, for sheep, for raiment, for any lost thing of which it is said that it is his, the matter of them both comes to God; he whom God condemns repays double to his neighbor.
Boekoeknah olka cungkuem dongah vaito khaw, laak khaw, tu khaw, himbai khaw, he hnohma ni a ti boeih tah a panit la Pathen mikhmuh ah ol hang khuen saeh. Pathen kah a boe sak long te tah a hui te a rhaep la sah saeh.
10 When a man gives to his neighbor a donkey, or ox, or sheep, or any beast to keep, and it has died, or has been hurt, or taken captive, [with] none seeing—
Hlang loh a hui taengah laak neh vaito, tu neh rhamsa cungkuem khaw dawn ham a paek dae, duek mai tih tlawt mai ni, a hmuh pawt vaengah khaw a mawt pah khaming.
11 an oath of YHWH is between them both, that he has not put forth his hand against the work of his neighbor, and its owner has accepted, and he does not repay;
Te vaengah a hui kah hnopai soah a kut hlah pawt ham amih rhoi laklo aBOEIPA kah olhlo om saeh. A kungmah long khaw doe saeh lamtah sah boel saeh.
12 but if it is certainly stolen from him, he repays to its owner;
Tedae anih taeng lamloh a huen la a huen atah a kungmah te sah saeh.
13 if it is certainly torn, he brings it in [as] a witness; he does not repay the torn thing.
Te te a ngaeh rhoe a ngaeh tila laipai hang khuen atah saha te sah boel saeh.
14 And when a man asks for [anything] from his neighbor, and it has been hurt or has died—its owner not being with it—he certainly repays;
Hlang loh a hui taeng lamkah a vat dae a taengah a kungmah a om pawt vaengah a khaem sak tih a duek atah sah rhoe sah saeh.
15 if its owner [is] with it, he does not repay—if it [is] a hired thing, it has come for its hire.
A kungmah te a taengah a om atah sah boel saeh. Te te a kutloh coeng atah a thapang neh mael saeh.
16 And when a man entices a virgin who [is] not betrothed, and has lain with her, he certainly endows her to himself for a wife;
tongpa loh oila a bae mueh te a yoek tih a taengah a yalh atah a yuu la oei rhoe oei saeh.
17 if her father utterly refuses to give her to him, he weighs out money according to the dowry of virgins.
A napa loh hula te anih taengah paek ham a aal la a aal atah oila kah maan bangla tangka thuek pah saeh.
18 You do not keep a witch alive.
Hlangbi khaw hing sak boeh.
19 Whoever lies with a beast is certainly put to death.
Rhamsa taengkah aka yalh boeih tah duek rhoe duek saeh.
20 He who is sacrificing to a god, except to YHWH alone, is devoted.
Yahweh amah bueng taeng pawt ah pathen tloe rhoek taengah aka nawn tah thup saeh.
21 And you do not oppress a sojourner, nor crush him, for you have been sojourners in the land of Egypt.
Yinlai khaw vuelvaek boeh, Egypt kho ah yinlai la na om uh coeng dongah nen boeh.
22 You do not afflict any widow or orphan;
Nuhmai neh cadah boeih tah phaep boeh.
23 if you really afflict him, surely if he cries to Me at all, I certainly hear his cry;
Na phaep la na phaep tih kai taengah a pang la a pang atah a pangngawlnah te ka hnatun rhoe ka hnatun pah ni.
24 and My anger has burned, and I have slain you by the sword, and your wives have been widows, and your sons orphans.
Te vaengah ka thintoek sai vetih nangmih te cunghang neh kang ngawn ni. Na yuu rhoek te nuhmai la, na ca rhoek khaw cadah la om uh ni.
25 If you lend money [to] My poor people [who are] with you, you are not as a usurer to him; you do not lay usury on him;
Nangmih taengkah ka pilnam mangdaeng te tangka na hlah pah atah a taengah puhlah bangla om boeh. Anih te a casai khueh pah boeh.
26 if you take the garment of your neighbor in pledge at all, you return it to him during the going in of the sun:
Na hui kah himbai te na laikoi la na laikoi atah khomik a khum hlan ah amah taengla mael laeh.
27 for it is his only covering, it [is] his garment for his skin; wherein does he lie down? And it has come to pass, when he cries to Me, that I have heard, for I [am] gracious.
A himbai khaw te kah himbai bueng ni a vin sokah a himbai dongah metlam a yalh eh? Ka lungvatnah oeh dongah ka taengla a pang vaengah ka hnatun pah ni ta.
28 You do not revile God, and you do not curse a prince among your people.
Pathen te thaephoei boeh, na pilnam sokah khoboei khaw thaephoei thil boeh.
29 You do not delay your fullness and your liquids; you give the firstborn of your sons to Me;
Na thaihhmin neh na tuihuem khaw hloh thil boeh, na ca caming khaw kamah taengla m'pae.
30 so you do to your ox [and] to your sheep; it is with its mother [for] seven days, on the eighth day you give it to Me.
Na vaito taeng neh na boiva taengah khaw saii tangloeng. Hnin rhih khuiah a manu neh om saeh lamtah hnin rhet dongah tah kamah taengla m'pae.
31 And you are holy men to Me, and you do not eat flesh torn in the field, you cast it to a dog.
Kamah taengah hlang cim la om uh laeh. Khohmuen kah saha saa khaw ca uh boeh. Te te ui ham voeih pah.
