Exodus 16
1 And they journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the sons of Israel come to the wilderness of Sin, which [is] between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month of their going out from the land of Egypt.
Ifrån Elim drogo de, och kom hele hopen Israels barn uti den öknena Sin, hvilken ligger emellan Elim och Sinai, på femtonde dagen i den andra månadenom, sedan de utur Egypti land gångne voro.
2 And all the congregation of the sons of Israel murmur against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness;
Och hela menigheten af Israels barn knorrade emot Mose och Aaron uti öknene;
3 and the sons of Israel say to them, “Oh that we had died by the hand of YHWH in the land of Egypt, in our sitting by the flesh-pot, in our eating bread to satiety—for you have brought us out to this wilderness to put all this assembly to death with hunger.”
Och sade till dem: Gud gifve, att vi hade dött uti Egypti lande genom Herrans hand, der vi såto vid köttgrytorna, och hade bröd nog till att äta; ty I hafven fördenskull fört oss i denna öknena, att I skolen låta denna hela hopen dö af hunger.
4 And YHWH says to Moses, “Behold, I am raining bread from the heavens for you—and the people have gone out and gathered the matter of a day in its day—so that I try them whether they walk in My law or not;
Då sade Herren till Mose: Si, jag vill låta regna eder bröd neder af himmelen; och folket skall gå ut och församla hvar dag så mycket som behöfves, på det att jag må försöka, om de vilja vandra uti min lag eller ej.
5 and it has been on the sixth day, that they have prepared that which they bring in, and it has been double above that which they gather day [by] day.”
På sjette dagenom skola de bereda sig till att församla dubbelt, öfver det de dageliga pläga.
6 And Moses says—Aaron also—to all the sons of Israel, “Evening—and you have known that YHWH has brought you out from the land of Egypt;
Mose och Aaron sade till Israels barn: Om aftonen skolen I förnimma, att Herren hafver fört eder utur Egypti land.
7 and morning—and you have seen the glory of YHWH, in His hearing your murmurings against YHWH, and what [are] we, that you murmur against us?”
Och om morgonen skolen I få se Herrans härlighet; ty han hafver hört edor knorran emot Herran. Hvad äre vi, att I knorren emot oss?
8 And Moses says, “In YHWH’s giving to you flesh to eat in the evening, and bread in the morning to satiety—in YHWH’s hearing your murmurings, which you are murmuring against Him, and what [are] we? Your murmurings [are] not against us, but against YHWH.”
Ytterligare sade Mose: Herren varder eder gifvandes om aftonen kött till att äta, och om morgonen bröd tillfyllest; derföre att Herren hafver hört edor knorran, der I emot honom knorrat hafven. Ty hvad äre vi? Edart knorrande är icke emot oss, utan emot Herran.
9 And Moses says to Aaron, “Say to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, Come near before YHWH, for He has heard your murmurings”;
Och Mose sade till Aaron: Säg till hela menighetena af Israels barn: Går hit fram till Herran; ty han hafver hört edar knorran.
10 and it comes to pass, when Aaron is speaking to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, that they turn toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of YHWH is seen in the cloud.
Och då Aaron så sagt hade till hela menighetena af Israels barn, vände de sig emot öknena; och si, Herrans härlighet syntes uti en sky.
11 And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
Och Herren sade till Mose:
12 “I have heard the murmurings of the sons of Israel; speak to them, saying, Between the evenings you eat flesh, and in the morning you are satisfied [with] bread, and you have known that I [am] your God YHWH.”
Jag hafver hört Israels barns knorran; säg dem: Om aftonen skolen I hafva kött till att äta, och om morgonen varda mättade af bröd; och skolen förnimma, att jag är Herren edar Gud.
13 And it comes to pass in the evening, that the quail comes up, and covers the camp, and in the morning there has been the lying of dew around the camp,
Och om aftonen kommo åkerhöns upp, och öfvertäckte lägret; och om morgonen låg dagg omkring lägret.
14 and the lying of the dew goes up, and behold, on the face of the wilderness [is] a thin, bare thing, thin as hoarfrost on the earth.
Och som daggen fallen var, si, då låg der något i öknene rundt och smått, såsom rimfrost på jordene.
15 And the sons of Israel see, and say to one another, “What [is] it?” For they have not known what it [is]; and Moses says to them, “It [is] the bread which YHWH has given to you for food.
Och då Israels barn sågo det, sade de till hvarannan: Detta är Man; ty de visste icke hvad det var. Men Mose sade till dem: Det är det brödet, som Herren eder gifvit hafver till att äta.
16 This [is] the thing which YHWH has commanded: Gather of it, each according to his eating, an omer for the counted head; and the number of your persons, take, each, for those in his tent.”
Det är det samma, om hvilket Herren budit hafver: Hvar och en församle deraf så mycket han äter för sig; och tage ett gomer till hvart och ett hufvud, efter själarnas tal i deras tjäll.
17 And the sons of Israel do so, and they gather, he who is [gathering] much, and he who is [gathering] little;
Och Israels barn gjorde så, och församlade, den ene mycket, den andre litet.
18 and they measure with an omer, and he who is [gathering] much has nothing over, and he who is [gathering] little has no lack, each according to his eating they have gathered.
Men då man mätte det ut med gomer, vardt dem, som mycket hade, intet öfverlöpse, och dem som litet hade, fattades intet; utan hvar och en hade församlat så mycket, som han åt för sig.
19 And Moses says to them, “Let no man leave of it until morning”;
Och Mose sade till dem: Ingen låte något qvart blifva deraf till morgonen.
20 and they have not listened to Moses, and some of them leave of it until morning, and it brings up worms and stinks; and Moses is angry with them.
Men de hörde Mosen intet, utan somlige läto något qvart blifva deraf intill morgonen; då växte der matkar uti, och vardt luktande; och Mose blef vred uppå dem.
21 And they gather it morning by morning, each according to his eating; when the sun has been warm, then it has melted.
Så församlade de deraf hvar morgon så mycket, som hvar och en förmådde äta för sig; men när solen vardt het, så försmälte det.
22 And it comes to pass on the sixth day, they have gathered a second bread, two omers for one, and all the princes of the congregation come in, and declare [it] to Moses.
Och på sjette dagenom församlade de dubbelt af det brödet, ju tu gomer för en. Och alle de öfverste för menighetene kommo in, och förkunnade det Mose.
23 And he says to them, “It [is] that which YHWH has spoken: A rest—a holy Sabbath to YHWH—[is] tomorrow; that which you bake, bake; and that which you boil, boil; and all that is remaining, let [it] rest for yourselves for preservation until the morning.”
Och han sade till dem: Detta är det som Herren sagt hafver: I morgon är Sabbath, den helga hvilan Herranom. Hvad I baka viljen, det baker, och hvad I koka viljen, det koker; men hvad öfver är, det låter blifva, att det varder förvaradt intill morgons.
24 And they let it rest until the morning, as Moses has commanded, and it has not stunk, and a worm has not been in it.
Och de läto blifvat till morgonen, såsom Mose budit hade; då vardt det intet luktande, och ingen matk vardt derutinnan.
25 And Moses says, “Eat it today, for today [is] a Sabbath to YHWH; today you do not find it in the field:
Då sade Mose: Äter det i dag; ty i dag är Herrans Sabbath; I varden i dag intet finnande på markene.
26 six days you gather it, and in the seventh day—the Sabbath—there is none in it.”
I sex dagar skolen I församlat; men sjunde dagen är Sabbath, på honom varder det intet.
27 And it comes to pass on the seventh day, some of the people have gone out to gather, and have not found.
Men på sjunde dagenom gingo somlige ut af folket till att församla, och funno intet.
28 And YHWH says to Moses, “How long have you refused to keep My commands and My laws?
Då sade Herren till Mose: Huru länge viljen I icke hålla min bud och lag?
29 See, because YHWH has given the Sabbath to you, therefore He is giving to you on the sixth day bread of two days; each abide [in] his place, no one goes out from his place on the seventh day.”
Si, Herren hafver gifvit eder Sabbath, och derföre hafver han gifvit eder på sjette dagenom tveggedaga bröd; så blifve nu hvar och en hemma, och ingen gånge ut ifrå sitt rum på sjunde dagenom.
30 And the people rest on the seventh day,
Så skonade då folket den sjunde dagen.
31 and the house of Israel calls its name Manna, and it [is] as white coriander seed; and its taste [is] as a cake with honey.
Och Israels hus kallade det Man; och det var såsom corianderfrö, och hvitt, och hade en smak såsom semla med hannog.
32 And Moses says, “This [is] the thing which YHWH has commanded: Fill the omer with it, for a charge for your generations, so that they see the bread which I have caused you to eat in the wilderness, in My bringing you out from the land of Egypt.”
Och Mose sade: Detta är det som Herren budit hafver; uppfyll ett gomer deraf, till att förvara för edra efterkommande; på det man må se det bröd, der jag eder med spisat hafver i öknene, då jag förde eder utur Egypti land.
33 And Moses says to Aaron, “Take one pot, and put the fullness of the omer of manna [in] there, and let it rest before YHWH, for a charge for your generations”;
Och Mose sade till Aaron: Tag ett käril och låt der in ett gomer fullt med Man; och förvara det inför Herranom till edra efterkommande.
34 as YHWH has given command to Moses, so Aaron lets it rest before the Testimony, for a charge.
Såsom Herren hade budit Mose, så lät Aaron förvara det der inför vittnesbördet.
35 And the sons of Israel have eaten the manna [for] forty years, until their coming to the land to be inhabited; they have eaten the manna until their coming to the extremity of the land of Canaan.
Och Israels barn åto Man i fyratio år, intilldess de kommo till det land, der de bo skulle; allt intill gränsona på Canaans land åto de Man.
36 And the omer is a tenth of the ephah.
Och är gomer tionde parten af ett epha.
