Esther 9
1 And in the twelfth month—it [is] the month of Adar—on the thirteenth day of it, in which the word of the king, even his law, has come to be done, in the day that the enemies of the Jews had hoped to rule over them, and it is turned that the Jews rule over those hating them—
Im zwölften Monat nun, das ist der Monat Adar, am dreizehnten Tage, an welchem des Königs Wort und Gebot in Erfüllung gehen sollte, an eben dem Tage, an welchem die Feinde der Juden hofften, sie zu überwältigen, wandte es sich so, daß die Juden ihre Hasser überwältigen durften.
2 the Jews have been assembled in their cities, in all provinces of King Ahasuerus, to put forth a hand on those seeking their evil, and no man has stood in their presence, for their fear has fallen on all the peoples.
Da versammelten sich die Juden in ihren Städten, in sämtlichen Provinzen des Königs Ahasveros, um Hand an die zu legen, die ihnen übel wollten, und niemand konnte ihnen widerstehen; denn die Furcht vor ihnen war auf alle Völker gefallen.
3 And all heads of the provinces, and the lieutenants, and the governors, and those doing the work that the king has, are lifting up the Jews, for a fear of Mordecai has fallen on them;
Auch alle Vorsteher der Provinzen und die Satrapen und Landpfleger und die Amtleute des Königs unterstützten die Juden; denn die Furcht vor Mardochai war auf sie gefallen.
4 for great [is] Mordecai in the house of the king, and his fame is going into all the provinces, for the man Mordecai is going on and becoming great.
Denn Mardochai galt viel am Hofe des Königs, und sein Ruf erscholl in alle Provinzen; denn der Mann Mardochai ward immer größer.
5 And the Jews strike among all their enemies—a striking of the sword, and slaughter, and destruction—and do with those hating them according to their pleasure,
Also schlugen die Juden alle ihre Feinde mit dem Schwerte und erwürgten und brachten sie um und verfuhren mit ihren Hassern nach ihrem Belieben.
6 and in Shushan the palace the Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men;
Auch in der Burg Susan erwürgten die Juden und brachten 500 Mann um.
7 and Parshandatha, and Dalphon, and Aspatha,
Dazu erschlugen sie Parsandata,
8 and Poratha, and Adalia, and Aridatha,
Dalphon, Aspata, Porata,
9 and Parmashta, and Arisai, and Aridai, and Vajezatha,
Adalja, Aridata, Parmasta, Arisai, Aridai und Vajesata,
10 ten sons of Haman son of Hammedatha, adversary of the Jews, they have slain, and on the prey they have not put forth their hand.
die zehn Söhne Hamans, des Sohnes Hammedatas, des Feindes der Juden; aber an ihre Güter legten sie die Hand nicht.
11 On that day has come the number of the slain in Shushan the palace before the king,
An jenem Tage erfuhr der König die Zahl der in der Burg Susan Getöteten.
12 and the king says to Esther the queen, “In Shushan the palace the Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men, and the ten sons of Haman; in the rest of the provinces of the king what have they done? And what [is] your petition? And it is given to you; and what your request again? And it is done.”
Und der König sprach zu der Königin Esther: Die Juden haben in der Burg Susan 500 Mann erschlagen und umgebracht, dazu die zehn Söhne Hamans. Was haben sie getan in den andern Provinzen des Königs? Was bittest du nun? Es soll dir gegeben werden. Und was forderst du mehr? Es soll geschehen!
13 And Esther says, “If [it is] good to the king, let it also be given tomorrow, to the Jews who [are] in Shushan, to do according to the law of today; and the ten sons of Haman they hang on the tree.”
Esther sprach: Gefällt es dem König, so lasse er auch morgen die Juden zu Susan handeln nach der heutigen Verordnung; die zehn Söhne Hamans aber soll man an den Galgen hängen!
14 And the king commands [for it] to be done so; and a law is given in Shushan, and they have hanged the ten sons of Haman.
Da befahl der König, solches zu tun, und das Gebot ward zu Susan erlassen, und die zehn Söhne Hamans wurden gehängt.
15 And the Jews who [are] in Shushan are also assembled on the fourteenth day of the month of Adar, and they slay three hundred men in Shushan, and they have not put forth their hand on the prey.
Und die Juden versammelten sich zu Susan am vierzehnten Tage des Monats Adar und erwürgten zu Susan 300 Mann; aber an ihre Güter legten sie die Hand nicht.
16 And the rest of the Jews, who [are] in the provinces of the king, have been assembled, even to stand for their life, and to rest from their enemies, and to slay seventy-five thousand among those hating them, and they have not put forth their hand on the prey;
Auch die übrigen Juden, die in den Ländern des Königs waren, kamen zusammen und standen für ihr Leben ein und verschafften sich Ruhe vor ihren Feinden, und sie töteten von ihren Feinden 75000; aber an ihre Güter legten sie die Hand nicht.
17 on the thirteenth day of the month of Adar, even to rest on the fourteenth of it, and to make it a day of banquet and of joy.
Das geschah am dreizehnten Tage des Monats Adar, und sie ruhten am vierzehnten Tage desselben Monats und machten ihn zu einem Tage des Gastmahls und der Freuden.
18 And the Jews who [are] in Shushan have been assembled, on the thirteenth day of it, and on the fourteenth of it, even to rest on the fifteenth of it, and to make it a day of banquet and of joy.
Aber die Juden zu Susan waren am dreizehnten und vierzehnten Tage dieses Monats zusammengekommen und ruhten am fünfzehnten Tage; und sie machten diesen Tag zu einem Tage des Gastmahls und der Freuden.
19 Therefore the Jews of the open places, who are dwelling in cities of the open places, are making the fourteenth day of the month of Adar—joy and banquet, and a good day, and of sending portions to one another.
Darum machen die Juden auf dem Lande, welche in den offenen Städten wohnen, den vierzehnten Tag des Monats Adar zu einem Tage der Freude, des Gastmahls und zum Festtag und senden einander Geschenke.
20 And Mordecai writes these things, and sends letters to all the Jews who [are] in all provinces of King Ahasuerus, who are near and who are far off,
Und Mardochai schrieb diese Begebenheiten auf und sandte Briefe an alle Juden, die in allen Provinzen des Königs Ahasveros wohnten, in der Nähe und in der Ferne,
21 to establish on them, to be keeping the fourteenth day of the month of Adar, and the fifteenth day of it, in every year and year,
indem er ihnen verordnete, daß sie den vierzehnten und fünfzehnten Tag des Monats Adar alle Jahre feiern sollten als Tage,
22 as days on which the Jews have rested from their enemies, and the month that has been turned to them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning to a good day, to make them days of banquet and of joy, and of sending portions to one another, and gifts to the needy.
an denen die Juden vor ihren Feinden zur Ruhe gekommen waren, und als Monat, in welchem ihr Kummer in Freude und ihr Leid in gute Tage verwandelt worden war; daß sie die feiern sollten als Tage des Gastmahls und der Freuden, an denen sie einander Geschenke machen und die Armen beschenken sollten.
23 And the Jews have received that which they had begun to do, and that which Mordecai has written to them,
Und die Juden machten sich das, was sie zu tun angefangen hatten und was ihnen Mardochai vorgeschrieben hatte, zur Gewohnheit.
24 because Haman son of Hammedatha the Agagite, adversary of all the Jews, had devised concerning the Jews to destroy them, and had caused to fall Pur—that [is] the lot—to crush them and to destroy them;
Weil Haman, der Sohn Hammedatas, der Agagiter, aller Juden Feind, den Plan gefaßt hatte, alle Juden umzubringen, und weil er das Pur, das ist das Los, hatte werfen lassen, um sie aufzureiben und umzubringen;
25 and in her coming in before the king, he commanded with the letter, “Let his evil scheme that he devised against the Jews return on his own head,” and they have hanged him and his sons on the tree,
während [Esther] dadurch, daß [sie] vor den König kam, bewirkte, daß er durch Briefe befahl, Hamans bösen Anschlag, den er wider die Juden erdacht hatte, auf seinen eigenen Kopf zu lenken, so daß man ihn und seine Söhne an den Galgen hängte.
26 therefore they have called these days Purim—by the name of the lot—therefore, because of all the words of this letter, and what they have seen concerning this, and what has come to them,
Darum werden diese Tage Purim genannt, nach dem Worte Pur. Um deswillen und wegen alles dessen, was in dem Schriftstücke stand, was sie selbst gesehen und erfahren hatten,
27 the Jews have established and received on them, and on their seed, and on all those joined to them, and it does not pass away, to be keeping these two days according to their writing, and according to their season, in every year and year;
setzten die Juden solches fest und nahmen es an für sich und ihre Nachkommen und alle, die sich ihnen anschließen würden, daß sie nicht davon abgehen wollten, jährlich diese zwei Tage zu halten, wie sie vorgeschrieben und bestimmt worden waren.
28 and these days are remembered and kept in every generation and generation, family and family, province and province, and city and city, and these days of Purim do not pass away from the midst of the Jews, and their memorial is not ended from their seed.
Und so sollen diese Tage im Gedächtnis bleiben und gefeiert werden von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht, in allen Provinzen und Städten; so daß diese Purimtage nie verschwinden sollen aus der Mitte der Juden und ihr Gedächtnis bei ihren Nachkommen nicht aufhören soll.
29 And Esther the queen, daughter of Abihail, writes, and Mordecai the Jew, with all might, to establish this second letter of Purim,
Und die Königin Esther, die Tochter Abichails, und Mardochai, der Jude, schrieben mit allem Nachdruck, um diesen zweiten Brief betreffend die Purim zu bestätigen.
30 and he sends letters to all the Jews, to the one hundred twenty-seven provinces of the kingdom of Ahasuerus—words of peace and truth—
Und er sandte Briefe an alle Juden in den 127 Provinzen des Königreichs Ahasveros`, Worte des Friedens und der Wahrheit,
31 to establish these days of Purim, in their seasons, as Mordecai the Jew has established on them, and Esther the queen, and as they had established on themselves, and on their seed—matters of the fastings, and of their cry.
um diese Purimtage zu ihren bestimmten Zeiten festzusetzen, wie Mardochai, der Jude, und die Königin Ester ihnen verordnet und wie sie sie auch für sich selbst und für ihre Nachkommen festgesetzt hatten, nämlich die Geschichten der Fasten und ihrer Wehklage.
32 And a saying of Esther has established these matters of Purim, and it is written in the Scroll.
Und der Befehl Esthers bestätigte diese Purimgeschichte, und er wurde in einem Buche aufgezeichnet.
