< Ephesians 5 >

1 Become, then, followers of God, as beloved children,
Hottelah nangmouh teh Cathut ni pahren e a ca lah na o awh dawkvah, Cathut koe kamtu awh.
2 and walk in love, as the Christ also loved us, and gave Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of a refreshing fragrance,
Cathut koe hmuitui lah ao thai nahan Khrih ni amae a tak hah a kâhnawng teh thuengnae a sak e lahoi maimouh lung na pataw e patetlah lungpatawnae dawkvah hring awh.
3 and whoredom, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, do not let it even be named among you, as is proper to holy ones;
Hatei, kamsoumhoehe napui tongpa yonnae, kakhin lah hringnae abuemlah, hounlounnae hah tami kathoungnaw ni a roun kawi e lah ao e patetlah lawk hoi boehai dei awh hanh.
4 also filthiness, and foolish talking, or jesting—the things not fit—but rather thanksgiving;
Ka kamcukamnat hoeh e lawk, panuilai, thangpoutlai, dei e patetnaw hai takhoe awh nateh pholennae lawk hah dei awh.
5 for you know this, that every whoremonger, or unclean, or covetous person, who is an idolater, has no inheritance in the kingdom of the Christ and God.
Kamsoumhoehe napui tongpa yonnae ka sak e tami, kakhin lah ka hring e tami, meikaphawk bawknae lah kaawm e hounlounnae hoi kahring e tami apipatet haiyah, Khrih hoi Cathut uknaeram dawk bangpatet e râw boehai coe mahoeh tie teh na panue awh.
6 Let no one deceive you with vain words, for because of these things comes the anger of God on the sons of the disobedience;
Apipatet koehai ayawmyin e lawknaw hoi kâdum sak awh hanh. Hotnaw kecu dawk Cathut lungkhueknae teh lawk ka ngai hoeh e naw koevah a pha.
7 do not become, then, partakers with them,
Hatdawkvah, ahnimouh hoi rei kambawng awh hanh.
8 for you were once darkness, and now light in the LORD; walk as children of light,
Ahmaloe vah, nangmouh teh hmonae dawk na o awh. Atuteh Bawipa dawk angnae lah na o awh dawkvah, angnae canaw patetlah hring awh.
9 for the fruit of the light [is] in all goodness, and righteousness, and truth,
Angnae a pawnaw teh hawinae, lannae hoi lawkkatang dawk hringnae hah doeh.
10 proving what is well-pleasing to the LORD;
BAWIPA Cathut ni a ngai e hno teh bangne tie hah kamtu awh.
11 and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of the darkness and rather even convict,
Ahawinae banghai kaawm hoeh e hmonae thawnaw hoi kâbet laipalah hotnaw hah letlang pâpho pouh awh.
12 for it is a shame even to speak of the things done by them in secret,
Bangkongtetpawiteh, arulahoi sak e hnonaw dei e ca patenghai kaya a tho rah.
13 and all the things reproved by the light are revealed, for everything that is revealed is light;
Yon pueng teh angnae lahoi doeh a kamnue. Ka kamnuek sak e hno haiyah angnae doeh.
14 for this reason it says, “Arouse yourself, you who are sleeping, and arise out of the dead, and the Christ will shine on you.”
Hatdawkvah, hettelah a dei awh. Ka ip nang kâhlaw leih, duenae koehoi thaw leih, hottelah na sak pawiteh Khrih ni angnae na poe han.
15 See, then, how exactly you walk, not as unwise, but as wise,
Hatdawkvah tamipathu patetlah awm laipalah, tami a lungkaang patetlah kheikhei na tarawi awh nahan kâhruetcuet awh.
16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil;
Atu e a hninnaw teh a mathoe toung dawkvah atueng hno panuek awh.
17 do not become fools because of this, but—understanding what [is] the will of the LORD,
Hatdawkvah, pathu a hanh leih. Bawipa ni a ngai e hno hah kapek nateh ka panuek e tami lah awm awh leih.
18 and do not be drunk with wine, in which is wastefulness, but be filled in the Spirit,
Sak payonnae kampaisakkung, misurtui hoi paruinae hah roun awh nateh Muitha hoi kawi awh.
19 speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the LORD,
Sam la, pholennae la, hoi muitha hringnae koe lah tha kâpoenae lanaw hoi buet touh hoi buet touh kâdei awh nateh lunghawi nalaihoi Bawipa pholennae la sak awh.
20 always giving thanks for all things, in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to the God and Father,
Pa Cathut koevah Bawipa Jisuh Khrih min lahoi hnocawngca dawk pout laipalah lunghawinae lawk dei awh.
21 subjecting yourselves to one another in the fear of Christ.
Cathut barinae lahoi buet touh hoi buet touh e rahim kârahnoum awh.
22 The wives: [subject yourselves] to your own husbands, as to the LORD,
Yunaw, Bawipa e uknae rahim na o awh e patetlah vanaw e uknae rahim vah awm awh.
23 because the husband is head of the wife, as also the Christ [is] head of the Assembly, and He is Savior of the body,
Bangkongtetpawiteh, Khrih teh Kawhmoun e lû lah ao e patetlah vâ teh yu e lû lah ao. Ahni teh tak rungngangkung lah ao.
24 but even as the Assembly is subject to Christ, so also [are] the wives [subject] to their own husbands in everything.
Kawhmoun teh Khrih e uknae rahim a kâhnawng e patetlah yunaw teh bangpueng dawk vanaw e uknae rahim vah kâhnawng van awh.
25 The husbands: love your own wives, as the Christ also loved the Assembly, and gave Himself for it,
Vânaw: Khrih ni Kawhmoun a lungpataw teh amahoima a kâhmoun e patetlah, yunaw hah lungpataw awh.
26 that He might sanctify it, having cleansed [it] with the bathing of the water in the saying,
Hottelah yon thoung lah ao teh khinnae awmhoeh. Vuen cipeinae awmhoeh. Ka kamcu e hah Khrih ni ama koe a hnawng nahanelah,
27 that He might present the Assembly to Himself in glory, having no spot or wrinkle, or any of such things, but that it may be holy and unblemished;
lawkkatang tui hoi a pâsu teh thoungsak nahan hote Kawhmoun hanelah a hringnae a kâpasoung toe.
28 so ought the husbands to love their own wives as their own bodies: he who is loving his own wife—he loves himself;
Hot patetvanlah, vanaw, namamouh hoi namamouh na lungpataw awh e patetlah yunaw hah lungpataw awh. A yu ka lungpataw e tami teh amahoima hai a lungpataw.
29 for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and nurtures it, as also the LORD—the Assembly,
Ma e takthai ka hmuhma e api buet touh hai awmhoeh. Khrih ni Kawhmoun hah a kawkhik e patetlah tami pueng ni amahoima e tak teh a kawkhik awh.
30 because we are members of His body, [[of His flesh, and of His bones.]]
Bangkongtetpawiteh, maimanaw teh amae a takthai, a hruhrawng lah o awh dawkvah a takthai e puengcang lah o awh.
31 “For this cause will a man leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife, and the two will be into one flesh”;
Hete kong dawkvah, tongpa ni a na pa hoi a manu a ceitakhai vaiteh a yu hoi tak a hmawng dawkvah kahni touh roi teh tak buet touh lah a coung han.
32 this secret is great, and I speak in regard to Christ and to the Assembly;
Hethateh, hrolawk doeh. Hettelah ka ti navah, Khrih hoi Kawhmoun ka dei ngainae a tho.
33 but you also, everyone in particular—let each so love his own wife as himself, and the wife—that she may revere the husband.
Hatdawkvah, nangmouh ni namamae takthai lungpataw awh e patetlah yu hah lungpataw awh. Yu ni hai vâ hah bari van naseh.
