Ephesians 2
1 Also you—being dead in trespasses and sins,
Lina-kewalivusa elalifile ngeziphambeko langezono,
2 in which you once walked according to the age of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience, (aiōn g165)
elalikade lihamba kuzo njengokwendlela yalumhlaba, njengokombusi wamandla omkhathi, awomoya osebenzayo khathesi phakathi kwabantwana bokungalaleli; (aiōn g165)
3 among whom we also all walked once in the desires of our flesh, doing the wishes of the flesh and of the thoughts, and were by nature children of wrath—as also the others,
lathi sonke sake sahamba phakathi kwabo enkanukweni zenyama yethu, sisenza intando zenyama lezemicabango, njalo ngokwemvelo sasingabantwana bolaka, njengabanye labo;
4 but God, being rich in kindness, because of His great love with which He loved us,
kodwa uNkulunkulu, enothile esihawini, ngenxa yothando lwakhe olukhulu asithanda ngalo,
5 even being dead in the trespasses, made us alive together with the Christ (by grace you are saved),
lanxa sasifile ngeziphambeko, wasiphilisa kanye loKristu (ngomusa lisindisiwe),
6 and raised [us] up together, and sat [us] together in the heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus,
njalo wasivusa kanye laye, wasesihlalisa kanye laye endaweni zezulwini kuKristu Jesu;
7 that He might show, in the ages that are coming, the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus, (aiōn g165)
ukuze abonakalise ezikhathini ezizayo inotho yomusa wakhe edlula amalawulo ngobubele kithi kuKristu Jesu; (aiōn g165)
8 for by grace you are saved, through faith, and this [is] not of yourselves—[it is] the gift of God,
ngoba ngomusa lisindisiwe ngokholo, lalokhu kakuveli kini; yisipho sikaNkulunkulu;
9 not of works, that no one may boast;
kakuveli emisebenzini, ukuze kungabi khona ozincomayo.
10 for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus on good works, which God prepared before, that we may walk in them.
Ngoba singumsebenzi wakhe, kuKristu Jesu sadalelwa imisebenzi emihle, uNkulunkulu ayilungisela ngaphambili, ukuze sihambe kiyo.
11 For this reason, remember, that you [were] once the nations in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that called Circumcision in the flesh made by hands,
Ngakho khumbulani ukuthi lina lake laba ngabezizwe enyameni, ababizwa ngokuthi yikungasoki ngalokhu okuthiwa yikusoka enyameni okwenziwe ngezandla,
12 that you were at that time apart from Christ, having been alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, having no hope, and without God in the world;
ukuthi ngalesosikhathi lalingelaye uKristu, abemzini kubusakhamuzi bakoIsrayeli, njalo abezizwe kuzivumelwano zesithembiso, lalingelathemba, njalo lingelaye uNkulunkulu emhlabeni.
13 but now, in Christ Jesus, you being once far off became near in the blood of the Christ,
Kodwa khathesi-ke kuKristu Jesu lina elalikade likhatshana, seliseduze ngegazi likaKristu.
14 for He is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of the partition of hostility,
Ngoba yena uyikuthula kwethu, owenza kokubili kwaba kunye, lowabhidliza umduli ophakathi owesehlukaniso,
15 the enmity in His flesh, having done away [with] the Law of the commands in ordinances, that He might create the two into one new man in Himself, making peace,
echithile ubutha enyameni yakhe, umlayo wemithetho ezimisweni, ukuze kuye labo ababili abadale babe ngumuntu munye omutsha, enze ukuthula,
16 and might reconcile both in one body to God through the Cross, having slain the enmity by it,
njalo enze ukuthi bobabili babuyisane loNkulunkulu emzimbeni munye ngesiphambano, esebulele ubutha ngaso;
17 and having come, He proclaimed good news—peace to you—the far-off and the near,
njalo weza watshumayela ukuthula kini elalikhatshana, lakulabo ababeseduze;
18 because through Him we have the access—we both—in one Spirit to the Father.
ngoba ngaye sobabili silokungena ngoMoya munye kuBaba.
19 Then, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens of the holy ones, and of the household of God,
Ngakho-ke kaliseyibo abemzini lezihambi, kodwa izakhamizi kanye labangcwele njalo abendlu kaNkulunkulu,
20 being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being chief corner-[stone],
lakhiwe phezu kwesisekelo sabaphostoli labaprofethi, uJesu Kristu uqobo eyilitshe eliyinhloko yengonsi,
21 in whom all the building fitly framed together increases to a holy temple in the LORD,
okuhlanganiselwe kuye isakhiwo sonke sikhule sibe lithempeli elingcwele eNkosini,
22 in whom you also are built together, for a habitation of God in the Spirit.
elakhiwa kuye lani kanye labanye libe yindlu yokuhlala kaNkulunkulu kuMoya.
