Ephesians 2
1 Also you—being dead in trespasses and sins,
Auch euch, die ihr tot waret durch eure Fehltritte und Sünden,
2 in which you once walked according to the age of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience, (aiōn g165)
in welchen ihr einst wandeltet gemäß dem Zeitalter dieser Welt, gemäß dem Herrscher des Reiches der Luft, des Geistes, der jetzt noch wirkt in den Söhnen des Ungehorsams, (aiōn g165)
3 among whom we also all walked once in the desires of our flesh, doing the wishes of the flesh and of the thoughts, and were by nature children of wrath—as also the others,
(unter welchen auch wir einst alle wandelten mit den Begierden unseres Fleisches, den Willen des Fleisches und der Gedanken vollbringend, und waren von Natur Kinder des Zornes wie die anderen auch)
4 but God, being rich in kindness, because of His great love with which He loved us,
hat doch der Gott, der da reich ist an Erbarmen, um seiner großen Liebe willen, mit der er uns geliebt hat,
5 even being dead in the trespasses, made us alive together with the Christ (by grace you are saved),
und zwar uns die wir tot waren durch die Fehltritte, mit Christus lebendig gemacht (durch Gnade seid ihr gerettet)
6 and raised [us] up together, and sat [us] together in the heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus,
und mit erweckt und mit versetzt in die Himmelswelt in Christus Jesus,
7 that He might show, in the ages that are coming, the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus, (aiōn g165)
damit er zeige in den kommenden Zeiten den überwältigenden Reichtum seiner Gnade in Güte gegen uns in Christus Jesus (aiōn g165)
8 for by grace you are saved, through faith, and this [is] not of yourselves—[it is] the gift of God,
(denn durch Gnade seid ihr errettet mittelst des Glaubens, und dieses nicht aus euch, Gottes Geschenk ist es,
9 not of works, that no one may boast;
nicht aus Werken, damit sich keiner rühme);
10 for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus on good works, which God prepared before, that we may walk in them.
denn sein Gebilde sind wir, geschaffen in Christus Jesus zu guten Werken, die Gott zuvor bereitet hat, daß wir darin wandeln sollten.
11 For this reason, remember, that you [were] once the nations in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that called Circumcision in the flesh made by hands,
Darum gedenket, daß einst ihr, die Heiden im Fleisch, die Unbeschnittenen genannt von der sogenannten mit Händen am Fleisch gemachten Beschneidung,
12 that you were at that time apart from Christ, having been alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, having no hope, and without God in the world;
daß ihr zu jener Zeit ohne Christus waret, ohne Teil am Bürgerrecht Israel und fremd den Bündnissen der Verheißung, ohne Hoffnung und ohne Gott in der Welt,
13 but now, in Christ Jesus, you being once far off became near in the blood of the Christ,
jetzt aber in Christus Jesus seid ihr, die ihr einst ferne waret, herbeigezogen, durch das Blut des Christus.
14 for He is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of the partition of hostility,
Denn er ist unser Friede, der beide Teile vereinigt und die Scheidewand des Zaunes gebrochen hat, die Feindschaft, indem er durch sein Fleisch
15 the enmity in His flesh, having done away [with] the Law of the commands in ordinances, that He might create the two into one new man in Himself, making peace,
das Gesetz der Gebote in Satzungen zerstört hat, daß er die zwei in ihm selbst zu Einem neuen Menschen schaffe, Frieden stiftend,
16 and might reconcile both in one body to God through the Cross, having slain the enmity by it,
und versöhne beide in Einem Leibe mit Gott durch das Kreuz, da er durch dasselbe tötete die Feindschaft,
17 and having come, He proclaimed good news—peace to you—the far-off and the near,
und kam und verkündete den Frieden euch den Fernen, und Frieden den Nahen,
18 because through Him we have the access—we both—in one Spirit to the Father.
weil wir durch ihn beide den Zugang haben in Einem Geist zum Vater.
19 Then, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens of the holy ones, and of the household of God,
So seid ihr nun nicht mehr Fremdlinge und Beisassen, sondern ihr seid Mitbürger der Heiligen und Hausgenossen Gottes,
20 being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being chief corner-[stone],
auferbaut auf den Grund der Apostel und Propheten, da er, Christus Jesus, der Eckstein ist,
21 in whom all the building fitly framed together increases to a holy temple in the LORD,
durch welchen der ganze Bau zusammengefügt ist und wächst zu einem heiligen Tempel im Herrn,
22 in whom you also are built together, for a habitation of God in the Spirit.
durch welchen auch ihr mit aufgebaut werdet zur Behausung Gottes im Geist.
