Deuteronomy 4
1 “And now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and to the judgments which I am teaching you to do, so that you live, and have gone in, and possessed the land which YHWH God of your fathers is giving to you.
௧“இஸ்ரவேலர்களே, நீங்கள் பிழைத்திருப்பதற்கும், உங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கிற தேசத்தில் நீங்கள் நுழைந்து அதைச் சொந்தமாக்கிக் கொள்வதற்கும், நீங்கள் கைக்கொள்வதற்காக நான் உங்களுக்குப் போதிக்கிற கட்டளைகளையும் நியாயங்களையும் கேளுங்கள்.
2 You do not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor diminish from it, to keep the commands of your God YHWH which I am commanding you.
௨நான் உங்களுக்குக் கற்பிக்கும் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவின் கட்டளைகளை நீங்கள் கைக்கொள்ளும்படி நான் உங்களுக்குக் கற்பிக்கிற வசனத்தோடே நீங்கள் ஒன்றும் கூட்டவும் வேண்டாம், அதில் ஒன்றும் குறைக்கவும் வேண்டாம்.
3 Your eyes are seeing that which YHWH has done in Ba‘al-Peor, for every man who has gone after Ba‘al-Peor, your God YHWH has destroyed him from your midst;
௩பாகால்பேயோரின் நிமித்தம் யெகோவா செய்ததை உங்கள் கண்கள் கண்டிருக்கிறது; பாகால்பேயோரைப் பின்பற்றின மனிதர்களையெல்லாம் உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உன் நடுவில் இராதபடி அழித்துப்போட்டார்.
4 and you who are cleaving to your God YHWH [are] alive today—all of you.
௪ஆனாலும் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவைப் பற்றிக்கொண்ட நீங்கள் எல்லோரும் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் உயிரோடிருக்கிறீர்கள்.
5 See, I have taught you statutes and judgments, as my God YHWH has commanded me, to do so in the midst of the land to where you are going in to possess it;
௫நீங்கள் சொந்தமாக்கிக்கொள்ளும்படி நுழையும் தேசத்தில் நீங்கள் கைக்கொள்ளும்பொருட்டு, என் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா எனக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியே, நான் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளைகளையும் நியாயங்களையும் போதித்தேன்.
6 and you have kept and done [them] (for it [is] your wisdom and your understanding) before the eyes of the peoples who hear all these statutes, and they have said, Surely a people wise and understanding [is] this great nation.
௬ஆகையால் அவைகளைக் கைக்கொண்டு நடவுங்கள்; மக்களின் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகவும் இதுவே உங்களுக்கு ஞானமும் விவேகமுமாக இருக்கும்; அவர்கள் இந்தக் கட்டளைகளையெல்லாம் கேட்டு, இந்தப் பெரிய மக்கள் கூட்டமே ஞானமும் விவேகமும் உள்ள மக்கள் என்பார்கள்.
7 For which [is] the great nation that has God [so] near to it, as our God YHWH, in all we have called to Him?
௭நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை நாம் தொழுதுகொள்ளுகிறபோதெல்லாம், அவர் நமக்குச் சமீபமாயிருக்கிறதுபோல, தேவனை இவ்வளவு சமீபமாகப் பெற்றிருக்கிற வேறே பெரிய மக்கள் கூட்டம் எது?
8 And which [is] the great nation which has righteous statutes and judgments according to all this law which I am setting before you today?
௮இந்நாளில் நான் உங்களுக்கு கொடுக்கிற இந்த நியாயப்பிரமாணம் முழுவதற்கும் இணையாக இவ்வளவு நீதியுள்ள கட்டளைகளையும் நியாயங்களையும் பெற்றிருக்கிற வேறே பெரிய மக்களும் எது?
9 Only, take heed to yourself, and watch your soul exceedingly, lest you forget the things which your eyes have seen, and lest they turn aside from your heart all [the] days of your life; and you have made them known to your sons and to your sons’ sons.
௯ஓரேபிலே உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக நீ நிற்கும்போது, யெகோவா என்னை நோக்கி: “மக்களை என்னிடத்தில் கூடிவரச்செய்து, என் வார்த்தைகளை அவர்கள் கேட்கச்செய்வேன்; அவர்கள் பூமியில் உயிரோடிருக்கும் நாட்களெல்லாம் எனக்குப் பயந்திருக்கும்படி அவைகளைக் கற்றுக்கொண்டு, தங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் போதிக்கக்கடவர்கள் என்று சொன்ன நாளில்,
10 [Never forget] the day when you have stood before your God YHWH in Horeb, in YHWH’s saying to me, Assemble the people to Me, and I cause them to hear My words, so that they learn to fear Me all the days that they are alive on the ground, and they teach their sons;
௧0உன் கண்கள் கண்ட காரியங்களை நீ மறக்காமலிருக்கவும், நீ உயிரோடிருக்கிற நாட்களெல்லாம் அவைகள் உன் இருதயத்தைவிட்டு நீங்காமலிருக்கவும் நீ எச்சரிக்கையாயிருந்து, உன் ஆத்துமாவை கவனமாகக் காத்துக்கொள்; அவைகளை உன் பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் உன் பிள்ளைகளின் பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் அறிவிப்பாயாக.
11 and you draw near and stand under the mountain, and the mountain is burning with fire to the heart of the heavens, [with] darkness, cloud, and thick darkness,
௧௧நீங்கள் சேர்ந்து வந்து, மலையின் அடிவாரத்தில் நின்றீர்கள்; அந்த மலையில் வானளாவிய அக்கினி எரிய, இருளும் மேகமும் அந்தகாரமும் சூழ்ந்தது.
12 and YHWH speaks to you out of the midst of the fire; you are hearing a voice of words, but you are seeing no likeness, only a voice;
௧௨அந்த அக்கினியின் நடுவிலிருந்து யெகோவா உங்களுடன் பேசினார்; வார்த்தைகளின் சத்தத்தை நீங்கள் கேட்டீர்கள்; அந்தச் சத்தத்தை நீங்கள் கேட்டதேயன்றி, ஒரு உருவத்தையும் காணவில்லை.
13 and He declares His covenant to you, which He has commanded you to do, the Ten Commandments, and He writes them on two tablets of stone.
௧௩நீங்கள் கைக்கொள்ளவேண்டும் என்று அவர் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட பத்துக் கற்பனைகளாகிய தம்முடைய உடன்படிக்கையை அவர் உங்களுக்கு அறிவித்து, அவைகளை இரண்டு கற்பலகைகளில் எழுதினார்.
14 And YHWH has commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, for your doing them in the land to where you are passing over to possess it.
௧௪நீங்கள் சொந்தமாக்கிக்கொள்ளப்போகிற தேசத்தில் நீங்கள் கைக்கொள்ளவேண்டிய கட்டளைகளையும் நியாயங்களையும் உங்களுக்குப் போதிக்கவேண்டுமென்று அக்காலத்தில் யெகோவா எனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.
15 And you have been very watchful of your souls, for you have not seen any likeness in the day of YHWH’s speaking to you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire,
௧௫“யெகோவா ஓரேபிலே அக்கினியின் நடுவிலிருந்து உங்களுடன் பேசின நாளில், நீங்கள் ஒரு உருவத்தையும் காணவில்லை.
16 lest you do corruptly, and have made for yourselves a carved image, a likeness of any figure: a form of male or female,
௧௬ஆகையால் நீங்கள் உங்களைக் கெடுத்துக்கொண்டு, ஆண் உருவமும், பெண் உருவமும்,
17 a form of any beast which [is] in the earth, a form of any winged bird which flies in the heavens,
௧௭பூமியிலிருக்கிற எந்தவொரு மிருகத்தின் உருவமும், ஆகாயத்தில் பறக்கிற இறக்கையுள்ள எந்தவொரு உருவமும்,
18 a form of any creeping thing on the ground, a form of any fish which [is] in the waters below the earth.
௧௮பூமியிலுள்ள எந்தவொரு ஊரும் பிராணியின் உருவமும், பூமியின்கீழ் தண்ணீரிலுள்ள எந்தவொரு உயிரினத்தின் உருவமாயிருக்கிற இவைகளில் எந்தவொரு உருவத்திற்கும் ஒப்பான சிலையை உங்களுக்கு உண்டாக்காமல்,
19 And lest you lift up your eyes to the heavens, and have seen the sun, and the moon, and the stars, all the host of the heavens, and have been drawn away, and have bowed yourself to them and served them, which your God YHWH has apportioned to all the peoples under all the heavens.
௧௯உங்கள் கண்களை வானத்திற்கு ஏறெடுத்து, உங்கள் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா வானத்தின் கீழெங்கும் இருக்கிற எல்லா மக்களுக்கும் ஏற்படுத்தின வானத்தின் சர்வ சேனைகளாகிய சந்திர சூரிய நட்சத்திரங்களை நோக்கி, அவைகளைத் தொழுதுவணங்க சம்மதிக்காமல், உங்கள் ஆத்துமாக்களைக்குறித்து மிகவும் எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்.
20 And YHWH has taken you, and He is bringing you out from the iron furnace, from Egypt, to be to Him for a people, an inheritance, as [at] this day.
௨0இந்நாளில் நீங்கள் இருக்கிறதுபோல, தமக்குச் சொந்தமான மக்களாயிருக்க, யெகோவா உங்களைச் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டு, உங்களை எகிப்து என்னும் இரும்பை உருக்கும் உலையிலிருந்து புறப்படச்செய்தார்.
21 And YHWH has showed Himself angry with me because of your words, and swears to my not passing over the Jordan, and to my not going into the good land which your God YHWH is giving to you [for] an inheritance;
௨௧யெகோவா உங்களால் என்மேல் கோபங்கொண்டு, நான் யோர்தானைக் கடந்துபோவதில்லை என்றும், உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உனக்குச் சொந்தமாகக் கொடுக்கிற அந்த நல்ல தேசத்தில் நான் நுழைவதில்லை என்றும் உறுதியாகக் கூறினார்.
22 for I am dying in this land; I am not passing over the Jordan, but you are passing over and have possessed this good land.
௨௨அதினால் இந்த தேசத்தில் நான் மரணமடையவேண்டும்; நான் யோர்தானைக் கடந்துபோவதில்லை; நீங்களோ கடந்துபோய், அந்த நல்ல தேசத்தைச் சொந்தமாக்கிக்கொள்வீர்கள்.
23 Take heed to yourselves lest you forget the covenant of your God YHWH which He has made with you, and have made a carved image for yourselves, a likeness of anything [concerning] which your God YHWH has charged you;
௨௩உங்களுடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உங்களுடன் செய்த உடன்படிக்கையை நீங்கள் மறந்து, உங்கள் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா, வேண்டாம் என்று விலக்கின எவ்வித சாயலான சிலையையும் உங்களுக்கு உண்டாக்காமல் எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்.
24 for your God YHWH is a consuming fire—a zealous God.
௨௪உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா சுட்டெரிக்கிற அக்கினி, அவர் எரிச்சலுள்ள தேவன்.
25 When you beget sons and sons’ sons, and you have become old in the land, and have done corruptly, and have made a carved image, a likeness of anything, and have done evil in the eyes of YHWH to provoke Him to anger,
௨௫“நீங்கள் பிள்ளைகளையும், பிள்ளைகளின் பிள்ளைகளையும் பெற்று, தேசத்தில் அதிக நாட்கள் இருந்தபின்பு, நீங்கள் உங்களைக் கெடுத்து, எந்தவொரு சிலையையாவது எந்தவொரு சாயலான உருவத்தையாவது செய்து, உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்குக் கோபம் உண்டாக்க அவர் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தால்,
26 I have caused the heavens and the earth to testify against you this day, that you perish utterly quickly from off the land to where you are passing over the Jordan to possess it; you do not prolong days on it, but are utterly destroyed;
௨௬நீங்கள் யோர்தானைக்கடந்து சொந்தமாக்கப்போகிற தேசத்தில் இல்லாமல், சீக்கிரமாக முற்றிலும் அழிந்துபோவீர்கள் என்று, இந்நாளில் உங்களுக்கு விரோதமாக வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் சாட்சியாக வைக்கிறேன்; நீங்கள் அதிலே அதிக நாட்கள் இராமல் அழிக்கப்படுவீர்கள்.
27 and YHWH has scattered you among the peoples, and you have been left few in number among the nations to where YHWH leads you,
௨௭யெகோவா உங்களை யூதரல்லாத மக்களுக்குள்ளே சிதறடிப்பார்; யெகோவா உங்களைக் கொண்டுபோய் விடப்போகிற மக்களிடத்திலே கொஞ்ச மக்களாக மீந்திருப்பீர்கள்.
28 and you have served gods there, work of man’s hands, wood and stone, which do not see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.
௨௮அங்கே காணாமலும், கேளாமலும், சாப்பிடாமலும், முகராமலும் இருக்கிற மரமும் கல்லுமான, மனிதர்களுடைய கைவேலையாகிய தெய்வங்களை வணங்குவீர்கள்.
29 And you have sought your God YHWH from there, and have found [Him] when you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
௨௯அப்பொழுது அங்கேயிருந்து உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை தேடுவாய்; உன் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் உன் முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும் அவரைத் தேடும்போது, அவரைக் கண்டடைவாய்.
30 In the distress of yours, when all these things have found you in the latter end of the days, and you have turned back to your God YHWH and have listened to His voice—
௩0நீ துன்பப்பட இவைகளெல்லாம் உன்னைத் தொடர்ந்து பிடிக்கும்போது, கடைசி நாட்களில் உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவிடத்தில் திரும்பி அவர் சத்தத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படிவாயானால்,
31 for your God YHWH [is] a merciful God—He does not fail you, nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He has sworn to them.
௩௧உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா இரக்கமுள்ள தேவனாயிருப்பதினால், அவர் உன்னைக் கைவிடவுமாட்டார், உன்னை அழிக்கவுமாட்டார், உன் முற்பிதாக்களுக்குத் தாம் வாக்களித்துக் கொடுத்த உடன்படிக்கையை மறக்கவுமாட்டார்.
32 For ask now of the former days which have been before you, from the day that God created man on the earth, and from the [one] end of the heavens even to the [other] end of the heavens, whether there has been as this great thing, or [if anything] has been heard like it.
௩௨“தேவன் மனிதனைப் பூமியிலே படைத்த நாள்முதல், உனக்கு முன் இருந்த ஆதிநாட்களில், வானத்தின் ஒருமுனை துவங்கி அதின் மறுமுனைவரையுள்ள எவ்விடத்திலாகிலும் இப்படிப்பட்ட பெரிய காரியம் நடந்ததுண்டோ, இப்படிப்பட்ட காரியம் கேள்விப்பட்டதுண்டோ;
33 Has a people heard the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as you have heard, you—and live?
௩௩அக்கினியின் நடுவிலிருந்து பேசுகிற தேவனுடைய சத்தத்தை நீ கேட்டது போல, எந்தவொரு மக்களாவது கேட்டதும், உயிரோடிருந்ததும் உண்டு?,
34 Or has God tried to go in to take a nation for Himself from the midst of a nation, by trials, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a strong hand, and by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that your God YHWH has done to you in Egypt before your eyes?
௩௪அல்லது உங்கள் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா எகிப்திலே உங்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக உங்களுக்குச் செய்தபடியெல்லாம் தேவன் அந்நிய மக்களின் நடுவிலிருந்து ஒரு மக்கள்கூட்டத்தைச் சோதனைகளினாலும், அடையாளங்களினாலும், அற்புதங்களினாலும், போரினாலும், வல்லமையுள்ள கரத்தினாலும், ஓங்கிய புயத்தினாலும், மகா பயங்கரமான செயல்களினாலும், தமக்கென்று தெரிந்துகொள்ள வழிசெய்ததுண்டோ என்று நீ விசாரித்துப்பார்.
35 You—you have been shown [it], to know that He, YHWH, [is] God; there is none else besides Him.
௩௫யெகோவாவே தேவன், அவரையல்லாமல் வேறொருவரும் இல்லை என்பதை நீ அறிந்துகொள்ள, இது உனக்குக் காட்டப்பட்டது.
36 He has caused you to hear His voice from the heavens, to instruct you; and on earth He has showed you His great fire, and you have heard His words out of the midst of the fire.
௩௬உனக்கு உபதேசிக்கும்படி, அவர் வானத்திலிருந்து தமது சத்தத்தை உனக்குக் கேட்கச்செய்து, பூமியிலே தமது பெரிய அக்கினியை உனக்குக் காண்பித்தார்; அக்கினியின் நடுவிலிருந்து உண்டான அவருடைய வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டாய்.
37 And because that He has loved your fathers, He also fixes on their seed after them, and brings you out in His presence, by His great power, from Egypt,
௩௭அவர் உன் முற்பிதாக்களிடத்தில் அன்பு செலுத்தியதால், அவர்களுடைய பின்சந்ததியைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டு,
38 to dispossess nations greater and stronger than you from your presence, to bring you in to give their land to you [for] an inheritance, as [at] this day.
௩௮உன்னிலும் பலத்த பெரிய மக்களை உனக்கு முன்னின்று துரத்தவும், உன்னை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், இந்நாளில் இருக்கிறதுபோல, அவர்கள் தேசத்தை உனக்குச்சொந்தமாகக் கொடுக்கவும், உன்னைத் தமது முகத்திற்குமுன் தமது மிகுந்த வல்லமையினால் எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படச்செய்தார்.
39 And you have known today, and have turned [it] back to your heart, that He, YHWH, [is] God in the heavens above and on the earth below—there is none else;
௩௯ஆகையால், உயர வானத்திலும் கீழே பூமியிலும் யெகோவாவே தேவன், அவரைத் தவிர ஒருவரும் இல்லை என்பதை நீ இந்நாளில் அறிந்து, உன் மனதிலே சிந்தித்து,
40 and you have kept His statutes and His commands which I am commanding you today, so that it is well for you, and for your sons after you, and so that you prolong days on the ground which your God YHWH is giving to you—all the days.”
௪0நீயும் உனக்குப் பின்வரும் உன் பிள்ளைகளும் நன்றாயிருக்கவும், உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உனக்கு என்றைக்கும் கொடுக்கிற தேசத்திலே நீ நீண்ட நாட்கள் வாழ்வதற்கும், நான் இன்று உனக்குக் கற்பிக்கிற அவருடைய கட்டளைகளையும் அவருடைய கற்பனைகளையும் கைக்கொள்ளக்கடவாய்” என்றான்.
41 Then Moses separates three cities beyond the Jordan, toward the sun-rising,
௪௧முன்பகை இல்லாமல் கை தவறுதலாக மற்றவனைக் கொன்றவன் அடைக்கலப்பட்டணங்களில் ஒரு பட்டணத்தில் தப்பி ஓடிப்போய்ப் பிழைத்திருப்பதற்கு,
42 for the fleeing there of the manslayer who slays his neighbor unknowingly, and he is not hating him before, and he has fled to one of these cities and he has lived:
௪௨ரூபனியர்களைச் சேர்ந்த சமபூமியாகிய வனாந்திரத்திலுள்ள பேசேரும், காத்தியர்களைச் சேர்ந்த கீலேயாத்திலுள்ள ராமோத்தும், மனாசேயர்களைச் சேர்ந்த பாசானிலுள்ள கோலானுமாகிய,
43 Bezer in the wilderness, in the land of the plain, for the Reubenite; and Ramoth in Gilead for the Gadite; and Golan in Bashan for the Manassite.
௪௩மூன்று பட்டணங்களை மோசே யோர்தான் நதிக்கு கிழக்கில், சூரியன் உதிக்கும் திசையிலே ஏற்படுத்தினான்.
44 And this [is] the law which Moses has set before the sons of Israel;
௪௪இதுவே மோசே இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுக்கு கொடுத்த பிரமாணம்.
45 these [are] the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Moses has spoken to the sons of Israel in their coming out of Egypt,
௪௫இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டபின்பு, யோர்தானுக்கு இப்புறத்தில் எஸ்போனில் குடியிருந்த எமோரியர்களின் ராஜாவாகிய சீகோனுடைய தேசத்திலுள்ள பெத்பேயோருக்கு எதிரான பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே, அவர்களுக்கு மோசே சொன்ன சாட்சிகளும் கட்டளைகளும் நியாயங்களும் இவைகளே.
46 beyond the Jordan, in the valley opposite Beth-Peor, in the land of Sihon, king of the Amorite, who is dwelling in Heshbon, whom Moses and the sons of Israel have struck in their coming out of Egypt;
௪௬மோசேயும் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களும் எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டபின்பு அந்த ராஜாவைத் தோற்கடித்து,
47 and they possess his land and the land of Og king of Bashan, two kings of the Amorite who [are] beyond the Jordan, [toward] the sun-rising,
௪௭யோர்தானுக்கு இப்புறத்தில் சூரியன் உதிக்கும் திசையில் அர்னோன் ஆற்றங்கரையிலுள்ள ஆரோவேர் துவங்கி எர்மோன் என்னும் சீயோன் மலைவரைக்கும் உள்ள தேசமும்,
48 from Aroer, which [is] by the edge of the Brook of Arnon, even to Mount Zion, which [is] Hermon—
௪௮யோர்தானுக்கு இப்புறத்தில் சூரியன் உதிக்கும் திசையிலே அஸ்தோத் பிஸ்காவுக்கும் தாழ்ந்த சமவெளியைச்சேர்ந்த கடல் வரையுள்ள சமவெளி அனைத்துமாகிய,
49 and all the plain beyond the Jordan eastward, even to the Sea of the Plain, below the Springs of Pisgah.
௪௯எமோரியர்களுடைய இரண்டு ராஜாக்களின் தேசங்களான சீகோனுடைய தேசத்தையும், பாசானின் ராஜாவாகிய ஓகின் தேசத்தையும் கட்டிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
