< Deuteronomy 3 >
1 “And we turn and go up the way to Bashan, and Og king of Bashan comes out to meet us, he and all his people, to the battle [at] Edrei.
2 And YHWH says to me, Do not fear him, for I have given him, and all his people, and his land into your hand, and you have done to him as you have done to Sihon king of the Amorite who is dwelling in Heshbon.
Mee ya ihe i mere Saịhọn eze ndị Amọrait, onyeisi obodo Heshbọn.”
3 And our God YHWH indeed gives Og king of Bashan and all his people into our hands, and we strike him until there has been no remnant left to him;
4 and we capture all his cities at that time; there has not been a city which we have not taken from them—sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
Nʼoge ahụ, anyị lụgburu obodo ya. Ọ dịghị obodo ọbụla nʼime iri obodo isii ahụ niile nke anyị na-anaraghị ha, ya bụ akụkụ Agob niile bụ alaeze Ọg nʼime Bashan.
5 All these [are] cities fortified with high walls, double gates, and bar, apart from very many cities of the open place;
Obodo ndị a bụ obodo e wusiri ike, nwechara mgbidi dị elu nke ukwuu, nwekwaa ọnụ ụzọ na mkpọrọ e ji akpọchi ha. Anyị lụgbukwara ọtụtụ obodo nta ndị ọzọ, ndị na-enweghị mgbidi.
6 and we devote them, as we have done to Sihon king of Heshbon, devoting [the] men, the women, and the infants of every city;
7 and all the livestock, and the spoil of the cities, we have spoiled for ourselves.
8 And at that time we take the land out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorite, which is beyond the Jordan, from the Brook of Arnon to Mount Hermon
Mgbe ahụ, anyị napụrụ ala ahụ site nʼaka eze abụọ ndị Amọrait, ya bụ ala ndị dị nʼakụkụ ọwụwa anyanwụ osimiri Jọdan. Ha dị site na ndagwurugwu Anọn ruo nʼugwu Hemon.
9 (Sidonians call Hermon Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir),
(Aha ndị Saịdọn na-akpọ ugwu Hemon bụ Siriọn, ma ndị Amọrait na-akpọ ya Senia.)
10 all the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, as far as Salchah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
Anyị meriri obodo ndị ahụ niile dị nʼala dị larịị, meriekwa Gilead niile na Bashan, tutu ruo obodo Saleka na Edrei, obodo ndị dị nʼalaeze Ọg, eze Bashan.
11 For only Og king of Bashan had been left of the remnant of the Rephaim; behold, his bedstead [is] a bedstead of iron. Is it not in Rabbath of the sons of Ammon? Its length [is] nine cubits and its breadth [is] four cubits, by the cubit of a man.
(Ọg, eze ndị Bashan bụ naanị onye fọdụrụ ndụ nʼagbụrụ ndị Refaim. E ji igwe kwaa ihe ndina ya, nke ogologo ya dị mita anọ, nke obosara ya bụkwa mita abụọ. Ihe ndina a dị ruo taa nʼobodo Raba, otu nʼime obodo ndị Amọn.)
12 And this land, [which] we had possessed at that time, from Aroer, which [is] by the Brook of Arnon, and the half of Mount Gilead and its cities, I have given to the Reubenite and to the Gadite;
13 and the rest of Gilead and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I have given to the half tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, with all Bashan—it is called the land of [the] Rephaim.
Nke a bụ ala Agob niile dị na Bashan, bụ ndị amaara dịka ala ndị Refaim.
14 Jair son of Manasseh has taken all the region of Argob, as far as the border of Geshuri and Maachathi ([namely] Bashan), and calls them by his own name, Havoth-Jair, to this day.
Jaịa, onye si nʼebo Manase, were ala niile dị nʼAgob, ọ bụladị ruo nʼoke ala ndị Geshua na ndị Maaka. Ọ kpọrọ ya nʼaha ya, nke mere na ruo taa ihe a na-akpọ Bashan bụ Havọt Jaịa, nke pụtara, obodo Jaịa.
15 And I have given Gilead to Machir.
Makia ka m nyere Gilead.
16 And to the Reubenite and to the Gadite I have given from Gilead even to the Brook of Arnon, the middle of the valley and the border, even to the Brook of Jabbok, the border of the sons of Ammon,
Ma Ebo Ruben na Gad ka m nyere ala niile dị site na Gilead ruo nʼetiti ndagwurugwu Anọn, na site na ndagwurugwu a ruo nʼiyi Jabọk, nke bụ oke ala ụmụ Amọn. Etiti ndagwurugwu Anọn bụkwa oke ala ebo Ruben na Gad.
17 and the plain, and the Jordan, and the border, from Chinnereth even to the Sea of the Plain (the Salt Sea), under the Springs of Pisgah, at the [sun]-rising.
Oke ala ha nʼakụkụ ọdịda anyanwụ bụ osimiri Jọdan nke dị nʼAraba. Oke ala a sitere na Kineret gbatịa ruo nʼOsimiri Araba (ya bụ Osimiri Nnu), nke dị na mgbada ugwu Pisga.
18 And at that time I command you, saying, Your God YHWH has given this land to you to possess it; you pass over armed before your brothers the sons of Israel, all the sons of might.
Enyekwara m unu iwu nʼoge ahụ sị, “Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu enyela unu ala a ka unu nwere ya. Ma ndị unu niile, ndị bụ dimkpa, ndị jikeere maka agha, ga-agafe nọrọ ndị Izrel ndị ọzọ nʼihu.
19 Only your wives, and your infants, and your livestock—I have known that you have much livestock—dwell in your cities which I have given to you,
Otu ọ dị, ebe ọ bụ na unu nwere ọtụtụ anụ ụlọ, ndị nwunye unu na ụmụntakịrị unu ga-ebi nʼobodo ndị m nyere unu, lekọtaa anụ ụlọ unu anya,
20 until YHWH gives rest to your brothers like yourselves, and they also have possessed the land which your God YHWH is giving to them beyond the Jordan; then you have each turned back to his possession which I have given to you.
tutu ruo mgbe Onyenwe anyị ga-enye ụmụnna unu mmeri dịka o nyere unu. Mgbe ha nwetara ala Onyenwe anyị Chineke anyị na-enye ha nʼofe Jọdan, onye ọbụla nʼime unu nwere ike lọghachi bịa biri nʼala unu.”
21 And I have commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Your eyes are seeing all that which your God YHWH has done to these two kings—so YHWH does to all the kingdoms to where you are passing over;
Nʼoge ahụ, agwara m Joshua okwu sị, “I jirila anya gị hụ ihe Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị mere eze abụọ ndị a. Otu a ka ọ ga-emekwa alaeze niile dị nʼofe Jọdan ebe unu na-aga.
22 do not fear them, for your God YHWH—He is fighting for you.
Atụla ha egwu, nʼihi Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị ga-alụrụ gị ọgụ.”
23 And to YHWH I beg for grace at that time, saying,
Nʼoge ahụ, arịrịọ m Onyenwe anyị arịrịọ sị ya,
24 Lord YHWH, You have begun to show Your servant Your greatness and Your strong hand; for who [is] a god in the heavens or in earth who does according to Your works and according to Your might?
“Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị ị malitela igosi mụ bụ ohu gị ịdị ukwuu gị na ike gị. O nweghị chi ọzọ dị nʼeluigwe maọbụ nʼụwa pụrụ ịrụ ọrụ ebube niile ị rụrụ.
25 Please let me pass over and see the good land which [is] beyond the Jordan, this good hill-country, and Lebanon.
Kwere ka m gafee hụ ala ọma ahụ dị nʼofe ọzọ nke Jọdan, ala ugwu ugwu ahụ mara mma, na Lebanọn.”
26 And YHWH shows Himself angry with me for your sake, and has not listened to me, and YHWH says to me, Enough of you; do not add to speak to Me about this thing anymore;
Ma nʼihi unu, Onyenwe anyị wesoro m iwe jụ ige m ntị! Onyenwe anyị gwara m okwu sị m, “O zuola! Agwakwala m ihe ọbụla banyere okwu a.
27 go up [to] the top of Pisgah, and lift up your eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and see with your eyes, for you do not pass over this Jordan;
Gaa, rigoruo nʼelu ugwu Pisga, site nʼebe ahụ lepụ anya nʼakụkụ ugwu na ndịda ma nʼakụkụ ọwụwa anyanwụ na ọdịda anyanwụ. Ọ bụ anya gị ka ị ga-eji hụ ala ahụ, nʼihi na ị gaghị agafe osimiri Jọdan.
28 and charge Joshua, and strengthen him, and harden him, for he passes over before this people, and he causes them to inherit the land which you see.
29 And we dwell in a valley opposite Beth-Peor.”
