Deuteronomy 18
1 “There is not for the priests, the Levites—all the tribe of Levi—a portion and inheritance with Israel; they eat fire-offerings of YHWH, even His inheritance,
१लेवी याजकाला म्हणजे लेव्यांच्या सर्व वंशातील लोकांस इस्राएलमध्ये जमिनीत वाटा किंवा वतन मिळणार नाही. ते याजक म्हणून काम करतील. परमेश्वरासाठी अर्पण केलेल्या बलींवर त्यांनी निर्वाह करावा. तोच त्यांचा वाटा.
2 and he has no inheritance in the midst of his brothers; YHWH Himself [is] his inheritance, as He has spoken to him.
२त्यांच्या इतर भाऊबंदाप्रमाणे लेवींना जमिनीत वतन नाही. परमेश्वराने सांगितल्याप्रमाणे खुद्द परमेश्वरच त्यांचे वतन होय.
3 And this is the priest’s right from the people, from those sacrificing a sacrifice, whether ox or sheep, he has even given to the priest the leg, and the two cheeks, and the stomach;
३यज्ञासाठी गोऱ्हा किंवा मेंढरू मारताना त्या जनावराचा खांद्याचा भाग, गालफडे व कोथळा याजकाला द्यावा.
4 you give to him the first of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the first of the fleece of your flock;
४धान्य, नवीन द्राक्षरस व तेल या आपल्या उत्पन्नातील पहिला वाटाही त्यांना द्यावा. तसेच मेंढरांची पहिल्यांदा कातरलेली लोकरही लेवींना द्यावी.
5 for your God YHWH has fixed on him, out of all your tribes, to stand to serve in the Name of YHWH—him and his sons continually.
५कारण तुम्हा सर्वांमधून लेवी व त्याच्या वंशजांना तुमचा देव परमेश्वर ह्याने आपल्या निरंतर सेवेसाठी निवडून घेतले आहे.
6 And when the Levite comes from one of your cities, out of all Israel where he has sojourned, and has come with all the desire of his soul to the place which YHWH chooses,
६प्रत्येक लेवीच्या मंदिरातील सेवेच्या ठराविक वेळा असतील. पण दुसऱ्या कुठल्या वेळेला त्यास काम करायचे असल्यास तो करु शकतो. इस्राएलमध्ये कोणत्याही नगरात राहणारा कोणीही लेवी घर सोडून परमेश्वराच्या पवित्र निवासस्थानी येऊ शकतो. हे केव्हाही करायची त्यास मुभा आहे.
7 then he has ministered in the Name of his God YHWH like all his brothers, the Levites, who are standing there before YHWH.
७परमेश्वराची सेवा करणाऱ्या आपल्या सर्व लेवीय बांधवांप्रमाणे त्यानेही तेथे सेवा करावी.
8 They eat portion like portion, apart from his sold things from the fathers.
८त्यास इतरांप्रमाणेच वाटा मिळेल. शिवाय आपल्या कुटुंबाच्या उत्पन्नात त्याचा वाटा असेलच.
9 When you are coming into the land which your God YHWH is giving to you, you do not learn to do according to the abominations of those nations.
९तुमचा देव परमेश्वर ह्याने दिलेल्या ठिकाणी राहायला जाल तेव्हा तिकडच्या राष्ट्रांतील लोकांप्रमाणे भयंकर कृत्ये करु नका.
10 There is not found in you one causing his son and his daughter to pass over into fire, a user of divinations, an observer of clouds, and an enchanter, and a sorcerer,
१०आपल्या पोटच्या मुलाबाळांचा वेदीवर बली देऊ नका. ज्योतिषी, चेटूक करणारा, शकुनमुहर्त पाहणारा, मांत्रिक यांच्या नादी लागू नका.
11 and a charmer, and one inquiring from a familiar spirit, and a wizard, and one seeking to the dead.
११वशीकरण करणाऱ्याला थारा देऊ नका. तुमच्यापैकी कोणीमध्यस्थ, मांत्रिक बनू नये. मृतात्म्याशी विचारणारा असू नये.
12 For everyone doing these [is] an abomination [to] YHWH, and because of these abominations your God YHWH is dispossessing them from your presence.
१२अशा गोष्टी करणाऱ्यांचा तुमचा देव परमेश्वर ह्याला तिरस्कार आहे. म्हणून तर तो इतर राष्ट्रांना तुमच्या वाटेतून घालवून देईल.
13 You must be perfect with your God YHWH,
१३तुमचा देव परमेश्वर ह्याच्याशीच पूर्णपणे विश्वासू असा.
14 for these nations whom you are possessing listen to observers of clouds and to diviners; but you—your God YHWH has not permitted you so.
१४इतर राष्ट्रांना आपल्या भूमीतून हुसकावून लावा. ते लोक ज्योतिषी, चेटूक करणारे अशांच्या नादी लागणारे आहेत. पण तुमचा देव परमेश्वर तुम्हास तसे करु देणार नाही.
15 Your God YHWH raises up for you a Prophet like me out of your midst, out of your brothers—you must listen to Him,
१५परमेश्वर तुमच्यासाठी संदेष्ट्याला पाठवील. तुमच्यामधूनच तो उदयाला येईल. तो माझ्यासारखा असेल. त्याचे तुम्ही ऐका.
16 according to all that you asked from your God YHWH in Horeb, in the day of the assembly, saying, Do not let me add to hear the voice of my God YHWH, and do not let me see this great fire anymore, and I do not die;
१६तुमच्या सांगण्यावरुनच देव असे करत आहे. होरेब पर्वताशी तुम्ही सर्व जमलेले असताना तुम्हास या पर्वतावरील अग्नीची आणि देववाणीची भीती वाटली होती. तेव्हा तुम्ही म्हणालात, पुन्हा हा आमचा देव परमेश्वर ह्याचा आवाज आमच्या कानी न पडो. तसा अग्नीही पुन्हा दृष्टीस न पडो, नाहीतर खचितच आम्ही मरु.
17 and YHWH says to me, They have done well [in] what they have spoken;
१७तेव्हा परमेश्वर मला म्हणाला, यांचे म्हणणे ठीकच आहे.
18 I raise up for them a Prophet like you out of the midst of their brothers, and I have given My words in His mouth, and He has spoken to them all that which I command Him;
१८मी यांच्यामधूनच तुझ्यासारखा एक संदेष्टा उभा करीन. माझी वचने त्याच्या मुखाने ऐकवीन. माझ्या आज्ञेप्रमाणे तो लोकांशी बोलेल.
19 and it has been [that] the man who does not listen to My words which He speaks in My Name, I require [it] of him.
१९हा संदेष्टा माझ्या वतीने बोलेल. तेव्हा जो कोणी ते ऐकणार नाही त्यास मी शासन करीन.
20 Only, the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My Name, which I have not commanded him to speak, and who speaks in the name of other gods, indeed, that prophet has died.
२०पण हा संदेष्टा मी न सांगितलेले ही काही माझ्या वतीने बोलला, तर त्यास मृत्युदंड दिला पाहिजे. इतर दैवतांच्या वतीने बोलणारा संदेष्टाही कदाचित उदयास येईल. त्यालाही ठार मारले पाहिजे.
21 And when you say in your heart, How do we know the word which YHWH has not spoken?
२१तुम्ही म्हणाल की अमुक वचन परमेश्वराचे नव्हे हे आम्हास कसे कळणार?
22 That which the prophet speaks in the Name of YHWH, and the thing is not, and does not come—it [is] the word which YHWH has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it in presumption; you are not afraid of him.”
२२तर, परमेश्वराच्या वतीने म्हणून तो संदेष्टा काही बोलला व ते प्रत्यक्षात घडले नाहीतर समजा की ते परमेश्वराचे बोलणे नव्हते, तर तो संदेष्टा स्वत: चेच विचार बोलून दाखवत होता. त्यास तुम्ही घाबरायचे कारण नाही.
