< Deuteronomy 18 >

1 “There is not for the priests, the Levites—all the tribe of Levi—a portion and inheritance with Israel; they eat fire-offerings of YHWH, even His inheritance,
Vaihmanaw, Levih miphunnaw pueng Isarelnaw hoi cungtalah râw tawn awh mahoeh. Ahnimouh teh BAWIPA koe hmai hoi thuengnae a hamnaw hah a ca awh han.
2 and he has no inheritance in the midst of his brothers; YHWH Himself [is] his inheritance, as He has spoken to him.
Ahnimouh teh a hmaunawnghanaw hoi râw rei coe awh mahoeh. BAWIPA ni kâ a poe e patetlah ahnimae râw teh ao.
3 And this is the priest’s right from the people, from those sacrificing a sacrifice, whether ox or sheep, he has even given to the priest the leg, and the two cheeks, and the stomach;
Taminaw ni thuengnae a sak awh toteh, maito hai thoseh, tu hai thoseh, vaihmanaw e ham aloung vang, a tangboung roi, a ruennaw hai thoseh,
4 you give to him the first of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the first of the fleece of your flock;
ahmaloe na a e cang, misur, satui hoi tumuen na ngaw e naw hah na poe han.
5 for your God YHWH has fixed on him, out of all your tribes, to stand to serve in the Name of YHWH—him and his sons continually.
Bangkongtetpawiteh, ahni koehoi a ca catounnaw teh BAWIPA min lahoi a thaw pou tawk nahanelah, na BAWIPA Cathut ni na miphunnaw thung dawkvah ahni hah a rawi toe.
6 And when the Levite comes from one of your cities, out of all Israel where he has sojourned, and has come with all the desire of his soul to the place which YHWH chooses,
Isarel kho dawk kaawm e Levih tami buetbuet touh ni BAWIPA Cathut ni a rawi e hmuen koe bari laihoi tho pawiteh,
7 then he has ministered in the Name of his God YHWH like all his brothers, the Levites, who are standing there before YHWH.
BAWIPA hmalah hmuen ka tawn tangcoung e Levihnaw patetvanlah, BAWIPA Cathut min lahoi athaw hah a tawk han.
8 They eat portion like portion, apart from his sold things from the fathers.
Ama e râw a yo teh a hmu e hno touk laipalah, Levihnaw hoi reikâvan lah a coe van han.
9 When you are coming into the land which your God YHWH is giving to you, you do not learn to do according to the abominations of those nations.
Na BAWIPA Cathut ni na poe e ram na pha awh toteh, hote ram dawk kaawm e taminaw ni a sak awh e panuettho e hno hah na sak awh mahoeh.
10 There is not found in you one causing his son and his daughter to pass over into fire, a user of divinations, an observer of clouds, and an enchanter, and a sorcerer,
Nangmouh thung dawk a canaw hah hmai hoi ka thueng e, ka tho hane naw hah ama pouk lahoi ka dei e, kutkhetkathoum e, kahawihoehe thoumthainae ka sak e,
11 and a charmer, and one inquiring from a familiar spirit, and a wizard, and one seeking to the dead.
ân ka thoum e, kahrai kamyawng e, hmaui lah kaawm e, tami kadout ka pacei e tami buet touh boehai awm mahoeh.
12 For everyone doing these [is] an abomination [to] YHWH, and because of these abominations your God YHWH is dispossessing them from your presence.
Hottelah ka sak e pueng teh BAWIPA Cathut ni a panuet. Hote panuettho e hnonaw kecu dawkvah, BAWIPA Cathut ni hote miphunnaw teh nang na hmalah hoi a pâlei toe.
13 You must be perfect with your God YHWH,
Nang teh, BAWIPA Cathut hmalah toun kaawm hoeh lah na o awh han.
14 for these nations whom you are possessing listen to observers of clouds and to diviners; but you—your God YHWH has not permitted you so.
Na uk e taminaw teh kutkhetkathoum e, ka tho hane naw hah ama pouk lahoi kadeinaw e lawk hah ouk a ngâi awh. Nang teh hottelah na sak nahanelah na BAWIPA Cathut ni kâ na poe hoeh.
15 Your God YHWH raises up for you a Prophet like me out of your midst, out of your brothers—you must listen to Him,
Na BAWIPA Cathut ni, nange na hmaunawnghanaw thung dawk hoi, kai patetlah e profet buet touh nangmouh hanelah a tâco sak han. Hote profet lawk hah na ngâi awh han.
16 according to all that you asked from your God YHWH in Horeb, in the day of the assembly, saying, Do not let me add to hear the voice of my God YHWH, and do not let me see this great fire anymore, and I do not die;
Horeb vah na kamkhuengnae hnin navah nang ni, BAWIPA Cathut e a lawk hah bout ka thai awh hanh lawiseh. Hote kalenpounge hmai hah kahmawt awh hanh lawiseh. Ka due han doeh toe telah BAWIPA Cathut hmalah na kâhei e patetlah,
17 and YHWH says to me, They have done well [in] what they have spoken;
BAWIPA ni, ahnimae lawk teh ahawi doeh.
18 I raise up for them a Prophet like you out of the midst of their brothers, and I have given My words in His mouth, and He has spoken to them all that which I command Him;
Amamae hmaunawngha thung dawkvah, ahnimouh hanelah profet buet touh ka tâco sak vaiteh, ahnie pahni dawk, ka lawknaw hah ka hruek pouh vaiteh, ahni ni patuen a dei pouh han.
19 and it has been [that] the man who does not listen to My words which He speaks in My Name, I require [it] of him.
Hote profet ni ka min lahoi a dei e lawk hah tarawi laipalah kaawm e teh, kai ni ka yue han.
20 Only, the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My Name, which I have not commanded him to speak, and who speaks in the name of other gods, indeed, that prophet has died.
Kai ni lawk ka poe laipalah, ka min lahoi ka dei e profet hoehpawiteh, alouke cathut min lahoi ka dei e profet teh kadout lah thei han telah kai ni kâ na poe.
21 And when you say in your heart, How do we know the word which YHWH has not spoken?
Nang ni, BAWIPA Cathut ni a dei e hah bangtelah hoi maw ka panue han telah na pouk pawiteh,
22 That which the prophet speaks in the Name of YHWH, and the thing is not, and does not come—it [is] the word which YHWH has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it in presumption; you are not afraid of him.”
profet ni BAWIPA min lahoi a dei e patetlah phat hoeh, a dei lawk kuep hoehpawiteh, hote lawk teh BAWIPA ni a dei e nahoeh. A taranhawi lahoi a dei e doeh. Ahni hah na taket mahoeh.
