Deuteronomy 16
1 “Observe the month of Abib, and you have made a Passover to your God YHWH, for in the month of Abib your God YHWH has brought you out of Egypt by night;
"Ota vaari aabib-kuusta ja vietä pääsiäinen Herran, sinun Jumalasi, kunniaksi, sillä aabib-kuussa Herra, sinun Jumalasi, vei sinut pois Egyptistä, yöllä.
2 and you have sacrificed a Passover to your God YHWH, of the flock and of the herd, in the place which YHWH chooses to cause His Name to dwell there.
Ja teurasta Herralle, sinun Jumalallesi, pääsiäisuhri, lampaita ja raavaita, siinä paikassa, jonka Herra valitsee nimensä asuinsijaksi.
3 You do not eat any fermented thing with it; [for] seven days you eat unleavened things with it, bread of affliction (for you have come out of the land of Egypt in haste), so that you remember the day of your coming out of the land of Egypt all [the] days of your life;
Älä syö sen ohella hapanta. Syö seitsemänä päivänä sen ohella happamatonta leipää, kurjuuden leipää-sillä kiiruusti sinä lähdit pois Egyptin maasta-että alati muistaisit sitä päivää, jona lähdit Egyptin maasta.
4 and leaven is not seen with you in all your border [for] seven days, and there does not remain [any] of the flesh which you sacrifice at evening on the first day until morning.
Seitsemään päivään älköön hapanta taikinaa olko koko sinun maassasi; ja siitä, mitä teurastat ensimmäisen päivän ehtoona, älköön mitään lihaa jääkö yön yli seuraavaan aamuun.
5 You are not able to sacrifice the Passover within any of your gates which your God YHWH is giving to you,
Sinä et saa teurastaa pääsiäisuhria niiden kaupunkiesi porttien sisäpuolella, jotka Herra, sinun Jumalasi, sinulle antaa,
6 except at the place which your God YHWH chooses to cause His Name to dwell—there you sacrifice the Passover in the evening, at the going in of the sun, the season of your coming out of Egypt;
vaan siinä paikassa, jonka Herra, sinun Jumalasi, valitsee nimensä asuinsijaksi, teurasta pääsiäisuhri, ehtoolla, auringon laskiessa, sinä määrähetkenä, jona Egyptistä lähdit.
7 and you have cooked and eaten in the place on which your God YHWH fixes, and have turned in the morning and gone to your tents;
Ja keitä ja syö se siinä paikassa, jonka Herra, sinun Jumalasi, valitsee; aamulla saat sitten lähteä paluumatkalle ja mennä kotiisi.
8 [for] six days you eat unleavened things, and on the seventh day [is] a restraint to your God YHWH; you do no work.
Kuutena päivänä syö happamatonta leipää, ja seitsemäntenä päivänä olkoon juhlakokous Herran, sinun Jumalasi, kunniaksi; älä silloin yhtäkään askaretta toimita.
9 You number seven weeks for yourself; you begin to number seven weeks from the beginning of the sickle among the standing grain,
Laske seitsemän viikkoa; siitä alkaen, kun sirppi ensi kerran olkeen pannaan, laske seitsemän viikkoa
10 and you have observed the Celebration of Weeks to your God YHWH, a tribute of a free-will offering of your hand, which you give as your God YHWH blesses you.
ja vietä viikkojuhla Herran, sinun Jumalasi, kunniaksi kätesi vapaaehtoisin lahjoin, joita sinä annat sen mukaan, kuin Herra, sinun Jumalasi, on sinulle siunausta antanut.
11 And you have rejoiced before your God YHWH, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your handmaid, and the Levite who [is] within your gates, and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow, who [are] in your midst, in the place which your God YHWH chooses to cause His Name to dwell there,
Ja iloitse Herran, sinun Jumalasi, edessä, sinä ja sinun poikasi ja tyttäresi, palvelijasi ja palvelijattaresi, leeviläinen, joka asuu sinun porttiesi sisäpuolella, muukalainen, orpo ja leski, jotka sinun keskuudessasi ovat, siinä paikassa, jonka Herra, sinun Jumalasi, valitsee nimensä asuinsijaksi.
12 and you have remembered that you have been a servant in Egypt, and have observed and done these statutes.
Ja muista, että itse olit orjana Egyptissä, ja noudata tarkoin näitä käskyjä.
13 You observe the Celebration of Shelters for yourself [for] seven days, in your ingathering of your threshing-floor and of your wine-vat;
Lehtimajanjuhlaa vietä seitsemän päivää, korjatessasi satoa puimatantereeltasi ja kuurnastasi.
14 and you have rejoiced in your celebration, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your handmaid, and the Levite, and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow, who [are] within your gates.
Ja iloitse tänä juhlanasi, sinä ja sinun poikasi ja tyttäresi, palvelijasi ja palvelijattaresi, leeviläinen, muukalainen, orpo ja leski, jotka asuvat sinun porttiesi sisäpuolella.
15 [For] seven days you celebrate before your God YHWH in the place which YHWH chooses, for your God YHWH blesses you in all your increase and in every work of your hands, and you have been only rejoicing.
Seitsemän päivää juhli Herran, sinun Jumalasi, kunniaksi siinä paikassa, jonka Herra valitsee; sillä Herra, sinun Jumalasi, on siunaava sinua kaikessa, minkä satona saat, ja kaikissa kättesi töissä; sentähden ole iloinen.
16 Three times in a year all of your males appear before your God YHWH in the place which He chooses: in the Celebration of Unleavened Things, and in the Celebration of Weeks, and in the Celebration of Shelters; and they do not appear before YHWH empty;
Kolme kertaa vuodessa tulkoon kaikki sinun miesväkesi Herran, sinun Jumalasi, kasvojen eteen siihen paikkaan, jonka hän valitsee: happamattoman leivän juhlana, viikkojuhlana ja lehtimajanjuhlana. Mutta tyhjin käsin älköön tultako Herran kasvojen eteen;
17 each [gives] according to the gift of his hand, according to the blessing of your God YHWH, which He has given to you.
kukin tuokoon lahjana sen, minkä voi, sen siunauksen mukaan, minkä Herra, sinun Jumalasi, on sinulle antanut.
18 You set for yourself judges and authorities within all your gates which your God YHWH is giving to you, for your tribes; and they have judged the people [with] a righteous judgment.
Aseta tuomarit ja päällysmiehet eri sukukuntiasi varten kaikkien niiden kaupunkiesi portteihin, jotka Herra, sinun Jumalasi, sinulle antaa; he tuomitkoot kansaa oikein.
19 You do not turn aside judgment; you do not discern faces, nor take a bribe, for the bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and perverts the words of the righteous.
Älä vääristä oikeutta, älä katso henkilöön äläkä ota lahjusta, sillä lahjus sokaisee viisaiden silmät ja vääristää syyttömien asiat.
20 Righteousness—you pursue righteousness, so that you live and have possessed the land which your God YHWH is giving to you.
Vanhurskautta, ainoastaan vanhurskautta harrasta, että eläisit ja ottaisit omaksesi sen maan, jonka Herra, sinun Jumalasi, sinulle antaa.
21 You do not plant an Asherah of any trees for yourself near the altar of your God YHWH, which you make for yourself,
Älä pystytä itsellesi asera-karsikoita, älä mitään puuta, Herran, sinun Jumalasi, alttarin viereen, jonka itsellesi teet;
22 and you do not raise up any standing image for yourself which your God YHWH is hating.”
Älä myöskään pystytä itsellesi patsasta, sillä niitä Herra, sinun Jumalasi, vihaa."
