< Deuteronomy 14 >
1 “You [are] sons of your God YHWH; you do not cut yourselves, nor make baldness between your eyes for the dead;
Muli baana ba Mukama Katonda wammwe. Temwesalangako misale oba enjola ku mibiri gyammwe, wadde okwemwangako enviiri ez’omu bwenyi nga mufiiriddwa,
2 for you [are] a holy people to your God YHWH, and YHWH has fixed on you to be to Him for a people, a peculiar treasure, out of all the peoples who [are] on the face of the ground.
kubanga oli ggwanga ttukuvu eri Mukama Katonda wo. Mu mawanga gonna ag’oku nsi, Mukama ggwe gwe yalondamu okuba eggwanga lye eddonde lye yeefunira.
3 You do not eat any abomination;
Temulyanga nnyama ya kisolo kyonna ekitali kirongoofu eky’omuzizo.
4 this [is] the beast which you eat: ox, lamb of the sheep, or kid of the goats,
Bino bye bisolo bye munaalyanga: ente, endiga, embuzi,
5 deer, and roe, and fallow deer, and wild goat, and ibex, and antelope, and zemer;
enjaza, empeewo, ennangaazi, embulabuzi, entamu, enteŋŋo n’endiga ez’omu nsiko.
6 and every beast dividing the hoof, and cleaving the cleft into two hooves, bringing up the cud, among the beasts—you eat it.
Era munaayinzanga okulya ensolo ezirina ebinuulo ebyawulamu wabiri nga zizza n’obwenkulumu.
7 Only, this you do not eat, of those bringing up the cud, and of those dividing the cloven hoof: the camel, and the hare, and the hyrax, for they are bringing up the cud, but the hoof has not divided—they [are] unclean to you;
Naye nno ku ezo ezirina ebinuulo ebyawulamu oba nga zizza obwenkulumu, zino temuziryanga: eŋŋamira, akamyu, n’omusu. Kubanga newaakubadde nga zizza obwenkulumu, ekinuulo kyazo sikyawulemu, si nnongoofu za muzizo gye muli.
8 and the sow, for it is dividing the hoof, and not [bringing] up the cud—it [is] unclean to you; you do not eat of their flesh, and you do not come against their carcass.
Embizzi nazo si nnongoofu, kubanga newaakubadde zirina ekinuulo ekyawulemu, naye tezizza bwenkulumu, noolwekyo zinaabanga za muzizo gye muli. Ennyama yaazo temugiryanga so temukwatanga wadde okukoma ku mirambo gyazo.
9 This you eat of all which [are] in the waters: anything that has fins and scales you eat;
Mu biramu ebibeera mu mazzi, munaalyanga ebyo ebirina amaggwa ku mugongo n’amagalagamba.
10 and anything which does not have fins and scales you do not eat—it [is] unclean to you.
Naye ebyo byonna ebitalina maggwa na magalagamba temubiryanga, kubanga si birongoofu gye muli.
11 Any clean bird you eat;
Ennyonyi ennongoofu munaaziryanga.
12 and these [are] they of which you do not eat: the eagle, and the bearded vulture, and the osprey,
Naye zino temuuziryenga: empungu, ennunda, makwanzi,
13 and the kite, and the falcon, and the vulture after its kind,
wonzi, eddiirawamu, kamunye n’ez’ekika kye,
14 and every raven after its kind;
namuŋŋoona owa buli ngeri;
15 and the ostrich, and the nightjar [[or male ostrich]], and the seagull, and the hawk after its kind;
ne maaya, n’olubugabuga, olusove, enkambo n’ekika kyazo,
16 the little owl, and the great owl, and the waterhen,
ekiwuugulu, n’ekkukufu, ekiwuugulu eky’amatu;
17 and the pelican, and the Egyptian vulture, and the cormorant,
n’ekimbala, n’ensega, n’enkobyokkobyo;
18 and the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.
ne kasiida, ne ssekanyolya, n’ekika kye, n’ekkookootezi, n’ekinyira.
19 And every teeming thing which is flying—it [is] unclean to you; they are not eaten;
Ebiwuka byonna ebirina ebiwaawaatiro nga bigendera mu kibinja si birongoofu gye muli, temuubiryenga.
20 any clean bird you eat.
Ekiramu kyonna ekirongoofu ekirina ebiwaawaatiro munaayinzanga okukirya.
21 You do not eat of any carcass; you give it to the sojourner who [is] within your gates, and he has eaten it; or sell [it] to a stranger; for you [are] a holy people to your God YHWH. You do not boil a kid in its mother’s milk.
Ekintu kyonna kye munaasanganga nga kimaze okufa, temukiryanga. Onooyinzanga okukiwanga munnaggwanga anaabeeranga mu bibuga byo ye n’akirya, oba onooyinzanga okukitunzanga munnaggwanga. Kubanga oli ggwanga ettukuvu eri Mukama Katonda wo. Tofumbiranga kabuzi kato mu mata ga nnyina waako.
22 You certainly tithe all the increase of your seed which the field is bringing forth year by year;
Buli lw’onookungulanga ebibala byo nga biva mu nnimiro yo buli mwaka, weegenderezanga n’ossangako wabbali ekitundu kyabyo eky’ekkumi.
23 and you have eaten before your God YHWH, in the place where He chooses to cause His Name to dwell, the tithe of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the firstlings of your herd, and of your flock, so that you learn to fear your God YHWH [for] all the days.
Onoolyanga ekitundu eky’ekkumi eky’emmere y’empeke, n’ekya wayini omusu, n’eky’amafuta, n’eky’ebibereberye eby’ebisibo byo n’eby’amagana go. Onookiriiranga mu maaso ga Mukama Katonda wo mu kifo ky’anaabanga yeerondedde eky’okubeerangamu Erinnya lye, olyokenga oyige okutyanga Mukama Katonda wo bulijjo.
24 And when the way is too much for you, that you are not able to carry it—when the place is too far off from you which your God YHWH chooses to put His Name there, when your God YHWH blesses you—
Naye Mukama ng’akuwadde omukisa, kyokka ng’ekifo ekyo kye yeerondera okubeerangamu Erinnya lye kiri wala n’ewuwo, noolwekyo nga toosobolenga kwetikka ekitundu eky’ekkumi okukituusangayo,
25 then you have given [it] in money, and have bound up the money in your hand, and gone to the place on which your God YHWH fixes;
kale nno, onookiwaanyisangamu omuwendo gw’ensimbi. Onoogendanga n’ensimbi ezo ng’ozinywezezza mu mukono gwo mu kifo Mukama Katonda wo kye yeerondera.
26 and you have given the money for anything which your soul desires, for oxen, and for sheep, and for wine, and for strong drink, and for anything which your soul asks for, and you have eaten before your God YHWH there, and you have rejoiced, you and your house.
Ensimbi ezo onoozeegulirangamu ekintu kyonna ky’onooyagalanga: gamba ente, oba endiga, oba envinnyo, oba ekyokunywa ekitamiiza, oba ekintu kyonna ky’onooyagalanga. Ggwe awamu n’ab’omu maka go bonna munaaliiranga awo mu maaso ga Mukama Katonda wo nga musanyuka.
27 As for the Levite who [is] within your gates, you do not forsake him, for he has no portion and inheritance with you.
Naye nno, Omuleevi anaabeeranga naawe mu bibuga byo tomulagajjaliranga, kubanga ye talina mugabo wadde ebyobusika ebibye ku bubwe nga ggwe.
28 At the end of three years you bring out all the tithe of your increase in that year, and have placed [it] within your gates;
Buli myaka esatu, ku buli nkomerero ya mwaka ogwokusatu, onooleetanga ebitundu eby’ekkumi byonna ebyo eby’ebibala byo byonna eby’omwaka ogwo, n’obiterekanga mu mawanika mu bibuga byo.
29 and the Levite has come in—for he has no part and inheritance with you—and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow, who [are] within your gates, and they have eaten, and been satisfied, so that your God YHWH blesses you in all the work of your hand which you do.”
Kale nno, Omuleevi kubanga taabenga na mugabo wadde ebyobusika nga ggwe, ne bamulekwa abatalina bakitaabwe ne nnamwandu; abo bonna abanaabanga babeera mu bibuga byo, bajjenga balye okutuusa lwe banakkutanga; bw’atyo Mukama Katonda wo alyoke akuwenga omukisa mu buli kimu kyonna ky’onookolanga n’emikono gyo.
