Deuteronomy 14
1 “You [are] sons of your God YHWH; you do not cut yourselves, nor make baldness between your eyes for the dead;
Vous êtes les enfants de l'Eternel votre Dieu. Ne vous faites aucune incision, et ne [vous] rasez point entre les yeux pour aucun mort.
2 for you [are] a holy people to your God YHWH, and YHWH has fixed on you to be to Him for a people, a peculiar treasure, out of all the peoples who [are] on the face of the ground.
Car tu es un peuple saint à l'Eternel ton Dieu, et l'Eternel t'a choisi d'entre tous les peuples qui sont sur la terre, afin que tu lui sois un peuple précieux.
3 You do not eat any abomination;
Tu ne mangeras d'aucune chose abominable.
4 this [is] the beast which you eat: ox, lamb of the sheep, or kid of the goats,
Ce sont ici les bêtes à quatre pieds dont vous mangerez, le bœuf, ce qui naît des brebis et des chèvres;
5 deer, and roe, and fallow deer, and wild goat, and ibex, and antelope, and zemer;
Le cerf, le daim, le buffle, le chamois, le chevreuil, le bœuf sauvage, et le chameaupard.
6 and every beast dividing the hoof, and cleaving the cleft into two hooves, bringing up the cud, among the beasts—you eat it.
Vous mangerez donc d'entre les bêtes à quatre pieds, de toutes celles qui ont l'ongle divisé, le pied fourché, et qui ruminent.
7 Only, this you do not eat, of those bringing up the cud, and of those dividing the cloven hoof: the camel, and the hare, and the hyrax, for they are bringing up the cud, but the hoof has not divided—they [are] unclean to you;
Mais vous ne mangerez point de celles qui ruminent [seulement], ou qui ont l'ongle divisé et le pied fourché [seulement]; comme le chameau, le lièvre, et le lapin; car ils ruminent bien, mais ils n'ont pas l'ongle divisé; ils vous seront souillés.
8 and the sow, for it is dividing the hoof, and not [bringing] up the cud—it [is] unclean to you; you do not eat of their flesh, and you do not come against their carcass.
Le pourceau aussi, car il a bien l'ongle divisé, mais il ne rumine point; il vous sera souillé. Vous ne mangerez point de leur chair; même vous ne toucherez point à leur chair morte.
9 This you eat of all which [are] in the waters: anything that has fins and scales you eat;
Vous mangerez de ceci d'entre tout ce qui est dans les eaux; vous mangerez de tout ce qui a des nageoires et des écailles.
10 and anything which does not have fins and scales you do not eat—it [is] unclean to you.
Mais vous ne mangerez point de ce qui n'a ni nageoires ni écailles; cela vous sera souillé.
11 Any clean bird you eat;
Vous mangerez tout oiseau net.
12 and these [are] they of which you do not eat: the eagle, and the bearded vulture, and the osprey,
Mais ce sont ici ceux dont vous ne mangerez point; l'Aigle, l'Orfraie, le Faucon.
13 and the kite, and the falcon, and the vulture after its kind,
Le Vautour, le Milan, et l'Autour, selon leur espèce;
14 and every raven after its kind;
Et tout Corbeau, selon son espèce;
15 and the ostrich, and the nightjar [[or male ostrich]], and the seagull, and the hawk after its kind;
Le Chathuant, la Hulotte, le Coucou, et l'Epervier, selon son espèce;
16 the little owl, and the great owl, and the waterhen,
La Chouette, le Hibou, le Cygne,
17 and the pelican, and the Egyptian vulture, and the cormorant,
Le Cormoran, le Pélican, le Plongeon,
18 and the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.
La Cigogne, et le Héron selon leur espèce; et la Huppe, et la Chauvesouris.
19 And every teeming thing which is flying—it [is] unclean to you; they are not eaten;
Et tout reptile qui vole vous sera souillé; on n'en mangera point.
20 any clean bird you eat.
Mais vous mangerez de tout ce qui vole, et qui est net.
21 You do not eat of any carcass; you give it to the sojourner who [is] within your gates, and he has eaten it; or sell [it] to a stranger; for you [are] a holy people to your God YHWH. You do not boil a kid in its mother’s milk.
Vous ne mangerez d'aucune bête morte d'elle-même, mais tu la donneras à l'étranger qui est dans tes portes, et il la mangera, ou tu la vendras au forain; car tu es un peuple saint à l'Eternel ton Dieu. Tu ne bouilliras point le chevreau au lait de sa mère.
22 You certainly tithe all the increase of your seed which the field is bringing forth year by year;
Tu ne manqueras point de donner la dîme de tout le rapport de ce que tu auras semé, qui sortira de ton champ, chaque année.
23 and you have eaten before your God YHWH, in the place where He chooses to cause His Name to dwell, the tithe of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the firstlings of your herd, and of your flock, so that you learn to fear your God YHWH [for] all the days.
Et tu mangeras devant l'Eternel ton Dieu, au lieu qu'il aura choisi pour y faire habiter son Nom, les dîmes de ton froment, de ton vin, de ton huile, et les premiers-nés de ton gros et menu bétail, afin que tu apprennes à craindre toujours l'Eternel ton Dieu.
24 And when the way is too much for you, that you are not able to carry it—when the place is too far off from you which your God YHWH chooses to put His Name there, when your God YHWH blesses you—
Mais quand le chemin sera si long que tu ne les puisses porter, parce que le lieu que l'Eternel ton Dieu aura choisi, pour y mettre son nom, sera trop loin de toi, lorsque l'Eternel ton Dieu t'aura béni;
25 then you have given [it] in money, and have bound up the money in your hand, and gone to the place on which your God YHWH fixes;
Alors tu les convertiras en argent, tu serreras l'argent en ta main; et tu iras au lieu que l'Eternel ton Dieu aura choisi.
26 and you have given the money for anything which your soul desires, for oxen, and for sheep, and for wine, and for strong drink, and for anything which your soul asks for, and you have eaten before your God YHWH there, and you have rejoiced, you and your house.
Et tu emploieras l'argent en tout ce que ton âme souhaitera, soit gros ou menu bétail, soit vin ou cervoise, et en toute autre chose que ton âme désirera; et tu le mangeras en la présence de l'Eternel ton Dieu, et tu te réjouiras, toi et ta famille.
27 As for the Levite who [is] within your gates, you do not forsake him, for he has no portion and inheritance with you.
Tu n'abandonneras point le Lévite qui [est] dans tes portes, parce qu'il n'a point de portion, ni d'héritage avec toi.
28 At the end of three years you bring out all the tithe of your increase in that year, and have placed [it] within your gates;
Au bout de la troisième année tu tireras toutes les dîmes de ton rapport de cette année-là, et tu les mettras dans tes portes.
29 and the Levite has come in—for he has no part and inheritance with you—and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow, who [are] within your gates, and they have eaten, and been satisfied, so that your God YHWH blesses you in all the work of your hand which you do.”
Alors le Lévite qui n'a point de portion ni d'héritage avec toi, et l'étranger, l'orphelin, et la veuve qui [sont] dans tes portes, viendront, et ils mangeront, et seront rassasiés; afin que l'Eternel ton Dieu te bénisse en tout l'ouvrage de ta main auquel tu t'appliqueras.
