Deuteronomy 1
1 These [are] the words which Moses has spoken to all Israel beyond the Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain opposite Suph, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Di-Zahab.
| اردن، در بیابان عربه مقابل سوف، در میان فاران و توفل و لابان و حضیروت و دی ذهب باتمامی اسرائیل گفت. | ۱ |
2 [It takes] eleven days [to go] from Horeb, the way of Mount Seir, to Kadesh-Barnea.
| از حوریب به راه جبل سعیر تا قادش برنیع، سفر یازده روزه است. | ۲ |
3 And it comes to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first of the month, Moses has spoken to the sons of Israel according to all that YHWH has commanded him concerning them,
| پس در روز اول ماه یازدهم سال چهلم، موسی بنی‌اسرائیل را برحسب هرآنچه خداوند او رابرای ایشان امر فرموده بود تکلم نمود، | ۳ |
4 after his striking Sihon king of the Amorite who is dwelling in Heshbon, and Og king of Bashan who is dwelling in Ashtaroth in Edrei.
| بعد ازآنکه سیحون ملک اموریان را که در حشبون ساکن بود و عوج ملک باشان را که در عشتاروت درادرعی ساکن بود، کشته بود. | ۴ |
5 Beyond the Jordan, in the land of Moab, Moses has begun to explain this law, saying,
| به آن طرف اردن درزمین موآب، موسی به بیان کردن این شریعت شروع کرده، گفت: دستور ترک حوریب | ۵ |
6 “Our God YHWH has spoken to us in Horeb, saying, For you dwell at this mountain long enough;
| یهوه خدای ما، ما را در حوریب خطاب کرده، گفت: «توقف شما در این کوه بس شده است. | ۶ |
7 turn and journey for yourselves, and go to the mountain of the Amorite, and to all its neighboring places in the plain, in the hill-country, and in the low country, and in the south, and in the haven of the sea, the land of the Canaanite, and of Lebanon, as far as the great river, the Euphrates River;
| پس توجه نموده، کوچ کنید و به کوهستان اموریان، و جمیع حوالی آن از عربه و کوهستان وهامون و جنوب و کناره دریا، یعنی زمین کنعانیان و لبنان تا نهر بزرگ که نهر فرات باشد، داخل شوید. | ۷ |
8 see, I have set the land before you; go in and possess the land which YHWH has sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to them and to their seed after them.
| اینک زمین را پیش روی شما گذاشتم. پس داخل شده، زمینی را که خداوند برای پدران شما، ابراهیم و اسحاق و یعقوب، قسم خورد که به ایشان و بعد از آنها به ذریت ایشان بدهد، به تصرف آورید.» | ۸ |
9 And I speak to you at that time, saying, I am not able to bear you by myself;
| و در آن وقت به شما متکلم شده، گفتم: «من به تنهایی نمی توانم متحمل شما باشم. | ۹ |
10 your God YHWH has multiplied you, and behold, today you [are] as the stars of the heavens for multitude;
| یهوه خدای شما، شما را افزوده است و اینک شماامروز مثل ستارگان آسمان کثیر هستید. | ۱۰ |
11 YHWH, God of your fathers, is adding to you, as you [are], one thousand times, and blesses you as He has spoken to you.
| یهوه خدای پدران شما، شما را هزار چندان‌که هستیدبیفزاید و شما را برحسب آنچه به شما گفته است، برکت دهد. | ۱۱ |
12 How do I bear your pressure, and your burden, and your strife by myself?
| لیکن من چگونه به تنهایی متحمل محنت و بار و منازعت شما بشوم. | ۱۲ |
13 Provide wise and understanding men for yourselves that are known to your tribes, and I set them for your heads;
| پس مردان حکیم و عاقل و معروف از اسباط خود بیاورید، تاایشان را بر شما روسا سازم.» | ۱۳ |
14 and you answer me and say, The thing which you have spoken [is] good to do.
| و شما در جواب من گفتید: «سخنی که گفتی نیکو است که بکنیم.» | ۱۴ |
15 And I take the heads of your tribes, wise men that are known, and I appoint them [as] heads over you, princes of thousands, and princes of hundreds, and princes of fifties, and princes of tens, and authorities for your tribes.
| پس روسای اسباط شما را که مردان حکیم ومعروف بودند گرفته، ایشان را بر شما روساساختم، تا سروران هزاره‌ها و سروران صدها وسروران پنجاهها و سروران دهها و ناظران اسباطشما باشند. | ۱۵ |
16 And I command your judges at that time, saying, Listen between your brothers—then you have judged [in] righteousness between a man, and his brother, and his sojourner;
| و در آنوقت داوران شما را امرکرده، گفتم: دعوای برادران خود را بشنوید، و درمیان هرکس و برادرش و غریبی که نزد وی باشدبه انصاف داوری نمایید. | ۱۶ |
17 you do not discern faces in judgment; you hear the little as well as the great; you are not afraid of the face of any, for the judgment is God’s, and the thing which is too hard for you, you bring near to me, and I have heard it.
| و در داوری طرف داری مکنید، کوچک را مثل بزرگ بشنویدو از روی انسان مترسید، زیرا که داوری از آن خداست، و هر دعوایی که برای شما مشکل است، نزد من بیاورید تا آن را بشنوم. | ۱۷ |
18 And I command you at that time all the things which you do.
| و آن وقت همه‌چیزهایی را که باید بکنید، برای شما امر فرمودم. | ۱۸ |
19 And we journey from Horeb, and go [through] all that great and fearful wilderness which you have seen, the way of the hill-country of the Amorite, as our God YHWH has commanded us, and we come to Kadesh-Barnea.
| پس از حوریب کوچ کرده، از تمامی این بیابان بزرگ و ترسناک که شما دیدید به راه کوهستان اموریان رفتیم، چنانکه یهوه خدای ما به ما امر فرمود و به قادش برنیع رسیدیم. | ۱۹ |
20 And I say to you, You have come to the hill-country of the Amorite, which our God YHWH is giving to us;
| و به شما گفتم: «به کوهستان اموریانی که یهوه خدای ما به ما می‌دهد، رسیده‌اید. | ۲۰ |
21 see, your God YHWH has set the land before you; go up, possess, as YHWH, God of your fathers, has spoken to you; do not fear, nor be frightened.
| اینک یهوه خدای تو، این زمین را پیش روی تو گذاشته است، پس برآی و چنانکه یهوه خدای پدرانت به تو گفته است، آن را به تصرف آور و ترسان و هراسان مباش.» | ۲۱ |
22 And you come near to me, all of you, and say, Let us send men before us, and they search the land for us, and they bring us back word [concerning] the way in which we go up into it, and the cities to which we come in;
| آنگاه جمیع شما نزد من آمده، گفتید: «مردان چند، پیش روی خود بفرستیم تا زمین رابرای ما جاسوسی نمایند، و ما را از راهی که بایدبرویم و از شهرهایی که به آنها می‌رویم، خبربیاورند.» | ۲۲ |
23 and the thing is good in my eyes, and I take twelve men from you, one man for the tribe.
| و این سخن مرا پسند آمد، پس دوازده نفر از شما، یعنی یکی را از هر سبطگرفتم، | ۲۳ |
24 And they turn and go up to the hill-country, and come to the Valley of Eshcol, and spy it out,
| و ایشان متوجه راه شده، به کوه برآمدند و به وادی اشکول رسیده، آن راجاسوسی نمودند. | ۲۴ |
25 and they take in their hand from the fruit of the land, and bring [it] down to us, and bring us back word, and say, The land is good which our God YHWH is giving to us.
| و از میوه زمین به‌دست خود گرفته، آن را نزد ما آوردند، و ما را مخبرساخته، گفتند: «زمینی که یهوه خدای ما، به مامی دهد، نیکوست.» | ۲۵ |
26 And you have not been willing to go up, and you provoke the mouth of your God YHWH,
| لیکن شما نخواستید که بروید، بلکه ازفرمان خداوند عصیان ورزیدید. | ۲۶ |
27 and murmur in your tents, and say, In YHWH’s hating us He has brought us out of the land of Egypt, to give us into the hand of the Amorite—to destroy us;
| و درخیمه های خود همهمه کرده، گفتید: «چونکه خداوند ما را دشمن داشت، ما را از زمین مصربیرون آورد، تا ما را به‌دست اموریان تسلیم کرده، هلاک سازد. | ۲۷ |
28 to where are we going up? Our brothers have melted our heart, saying, [The] people [are] greater and taller than we; [the] cities [are] great and fortified up to the heavens, and we have also seen sons of Anakim there.
| و حال کجا برویم چونکه برادران ما دل ما را گداخته، گفتند که این قوم از ما بزرگتر وبلندترند و شهرهای ایشان بزرگ و تا آسمان حصاردار است، و نیز بنی عناق را در آنجادیده‌ایم.» | ۲۸ |
29 And I say to you, Do not be terrified, nor be afraid of them;
| پس من به شما گفتم: «مترسید و ازایشان هراسان مباشید. | ۲۹ |
30 your God YHWH, who is going before you—He fights for you, according to all that He has done with you in Egypt before your eyes,
| یهوه خدای شما که پیش روی شما می‌رود برای شما جنگ خواهدکرد، برحسب هرآنچه به نظر شما در مصر برای شما کرده است.» | ۳۰ |
31 and in the wilderness where you have seen that your God YHWH has carried you, as a man carries his son, in all the way which you have gone until your coming to this place.
| و هم در بیابان که در آنجادیدید چگونه یهوه خدای تو مثل کسی‌که پسرخود را می‌برد تو را در تمامی راه که می‌رفتیدبرمی داشت تا به اینجا رسیدید. | ۳۱ |
32 And in this thing you are not steadfast in your God YHWH,
| لیکن با وجوداین، همه شما به یهوه خدای خود ایمان نیاوردید. | ۳۲ |
33 who is going before you in the way to search out for you a place for your encamping, in fire by night, to show you in the way in which you go, and in a cloud by day.
| که پیش روی شما در راه می‌رفت تاجایی برای نزول شما بطلبد، وقت شب در آتش تا راهی را که به آن بروید به شما بنماید و وقت روز در ابر. | ۳۳ |
34 And YHWH hears the voice of your words, and is angry, and swears, saying,
| و خداوند آواز سخنان شما را شنیده، غضبناک شد، و قسم خورده، گفت: | ۳۴ |
35 Not one of these men of this evil generation sees the good land which I have sworn to give to your fathers,
| «هیچکدام از این مردمان و از این طبقه شریر، آن زمین نیکو راکه قسم خوردم که به پدران شما بدهم، هرگزنخواهند دید. | ۳۵ |
36 except Caleb son of Jephunneh—he sees it, and to him I give the land on which he has trodden, and to his sons, because that he has been fully after YHWH.
| سوای کالیب بن یفنه که آن راخواهد دید و زمینی را که در آن رفته بود، به وی وبه پسرانش خواهم داد، چونکه خداوند را پیروی کامل نمود.» | ۳۶ |
37 Moreover, YHWH has been angry with me for your sake, saying, Indeed, you do not go in there;
| و خداوند بخاطر شما برمن نیزخشم نموده، گفت که «تو هم داخل آنجا نخواهی شد. | ۳۷ |
38 Joshua son of Nun, who is standing before you, he goes in there; strengthen him, for he causes Israel to inherit [it].
| یوشع بن نون که بحضور تو می‌ایستدداخل آنجا خواهد شد، پس او را قوی گردان زیرا اوست که آن را برای بنی‌اسرائیل تقسیم خواهد نمود. | ۳۸ |
39 And your infants, of whom you have said, They are for a prey, and your sons who today have not known good and evil, they go in there, and I give it to them, and they possess it;
| و اطفال شما که درباره آنها گفتید که به یغما خواهند رفت، و پسران شماکه امروز نیک و بد را تمیز نمی دهند، داخل آنجاخواهند شد، و آن را به ایشان خواهم داد تا مالک آن بشوند. | ۳۹ |
40 but you, turn and journey for yourselves toward the wilderness, the way of the Red Sea.
| و اما شما روگردانیده از راه بحرقلزم به بیابان کوچ کنید.» | ۴۰ |
41 And you answer and say to me, We have sinned against YHWH; we go up and we have fought, according to all that which our God YHWH has commanded us; and you each gird on his weapons of war, and you are ready to go up into the hill-country;
| و شما در جواب من گفتید که «به خداوندگناه ورزیده‌ایم، پس رفته، جنگ خواهیم کرد، موافق هرآنچه یهوه خدای ما به ما امر فرموده است، و همه شما اسلحه جنگ خود را بسته، عزیمت کردید که به کوه برآیید. | ۴۱ |
42 and YHWH says to me, Say to them, You do not go up, nor fight, for I am not in your midst, and you are not struck before your enemies.
| آنگاه خداوندبه من گفت: «به ایشان بگو که نروند و جنگ منمایند زیرا که من در میان شما نیستم، مبادا ازحضور دشمنان خود مغلوب شوید.» | ۴۲ |
43 And I speak to you, and you have not listened, and provoke the mouth of YHWH, and act proudly, and go up into the hill-country;
| پس به شما گفتم، لیکن نشنیدید، بلکه از فرمان خداوندعصیان ورزیدید، و مغرور شده، به فراز کوه برآمدید. | ۴۳ |
44 and the Amorite who is dwelling in that hill-country comes out to meet you, and they pursue you as the bees do, and strike you in Seir, even to Hormah.
| و اموریانی که در آن کوه ساکن بودندبه مقابله شما بیرون آمده، شما را تعاقب نمودند، بطوری که زنبورها می‌کنند و شما را از سعیر تاحرما شکست دادند. | ۴۴ |
45 And you return and weep before YHWH, and YHWH has not listened to your voice, nor has He given ear to you;
| پس برگشته، به حضورخداوند گریه نمودید، اما خداوند آواز شما رانشنید و به شما گوش نداد. | ۴۵ |
46 and you dwell in Kadesh [for] many days, according to the days which you had dwelt.”
| و در قادش برحسب ایام توقف خود، روزهای بسیار ماندید. | ۴۶ |
