Daniel 2
1 And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar has dreamed dreams, and his spirit moves itself, and his sleep has been against him;
Și în anul al doilea al domniei lui Nebucadnețar, Nebucadnețar a visat vise prin care duhul i s-a tulburat și somnul i-a fugit.
2 and the king says to call for enchanters, and for conjurers, and for sorcerers, and for Chaldeans, to declare to the king his dreams. And they come in and stand before the king;
Atunci împăratul a poruncit să fie chemați magii și astrologii și vrăjitorii și caldeenii, pentru a arăta împăratului visele lui. Astfel, ei au venit și au stat în picioare înaintea împăratului.
3 and the king says to them, “I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit is moved to know the dream.”
Și împăratul le-a spus: Am visat un vis și duhul meu a fost tulburat pentru a cunoaște visul.
4 And the Chaldeans speak to the king [in] Aramaic, “O king, live for all ages, tell the dream to your servants, and we show the interpretation.”
Atunci au vorbit caldeenii împăratului în siriană: Să trăiești pentru totdeauna împărate; spune servitorilor tăi visul și noi vom arăta interpretarea.
5 The king has answered and said to the Chaldeans, “The thing is gone from me; if you do not cause me to know the dream and its interpretation, you are made pieces, and your houses are made dunghills;
Împăratul a răspuns și a zis caldeenilor: Lucrul [acesta] mi-a scăpat; dacă nu îmi veți face cunoscut visul, cu interpretarea lui, veți fi tăiați în bucăți și casele voastre vor fi făcute un morman de balegă.
6 and if the dream and its interpretation you show, gifts, and fee, and great glory you receive from before me, therefore the dream and its interpretation you show me.”
Dar dacă [îmi] arătați visul și interpretarea lui, veți primi de la mine daruri și răsplăți și mare onoare; de aceea arătați-mi visul și interpretarea lui.
7 They have answered a second time, and are saying, “Let the king tell the dream to his servants, and we show the interpretation.”
Ei au răspuns din nou și au zis: Să spună împăratul servitorilor săi visul, iar noi vom arăta interpretarea lui.
8 The king has answered and said, “Of a truth I know that you are gaining time, because that you have seen that the thing is gone from me,
Împăratul a răspuns și a zis: Știu sigur că doriți să câștigați timp, deoarece vedeți că lucrul mi-a scăpat.
9 [so] that, if you do not cause me to know the dream—one is your sentence, seeing a lying and corrupt word you have prepared to speak before me, until the time is changed, therefore tell the dream to me, then I know that you show me its interpretation.”
Dar dacă nu îmi veți face cunoscut visul, [nu este decât] o [singură] hotărâre pentru voi, fiindcă ați pregătit cuvinte mincinoase și corupte pentru a vorbi înaintea mea, până când timpul se schimbă; de aceea spuneți-mi visul și voi cunoaște că puteți să îmi arătați interpretarea lui.
10 The Chaldeans have answered before the king, and are saying, “There is not a man on the earth who is able to show the king’s matter; therefore, no king, chief, and ruler, has asked such a thing as this of any scribe, and enchanter, and Chaldean;
Caldeenii au răspuns înaintea împăratului și au zis: Nu este om pe pământ care poate arăta acest lucru al împăratului; de aceea nu [este nici] împărat, [nici] domn, nici conducător, [care] să fi cerut astfel de lucruri de la vreun mag sau astrolog sau caldeean.
11 and the thing that the king is asking [is] precious, and there are no others that show it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.”
Și [este] lucru rar ceea ce împăratul cere, și nu este nimeni altul care să îl poată arăta împăratului, cu excepția dumnezeilor, a căror locuință nu este cu carnea.
12 Therefore the king has been furious and very angry, and has said to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.
Din această cauză împăratul a fost mânios și foarte furios și a poruncit să fie nimiciți toți înțelepții Babilonului.
13 And the sentence has gone forth, and the wise men are being slain, and they have sought Daniel and his companions to be slain.
Și a ieșit hotărârea ca înțelepții să fie uciși; și căutau pe Daniel și pe tovarășii lui să fie uciși.
14 Then Daniel has replied [with] counsel and discretion to Arioch chief of the executioners of the king, who has gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon.
Atunci Daniel a răspuns cu sfat și înțelepciune lui Arioc, căpetenia gărzii împăratului, care ieșise să ucidă pe înțelepții Babilonului;
15 He has answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, “Why [is] the sentence so urgent from before the king?” Then Arioch has made the thing known to Daniel,
El a răspuns și a zis lui Arioc căpetenia împăratului: De ce [este] hotărârea de la împărat [atât] de grăbită? Atunci Arioc i-a făcut cunoscut lui Daniel acest lucru.
16 and Daniel has gone up, and sought of the king that he would give him time to show the interpretation to the king.
Atunci Daniel a intrat și a rugat pe împărat să îi dea timp, iar el îi va arăta împăratului interpretarea.
17 Then Daniel has gone to his house, and to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, he has made the thing known,
Atunci Daniel a mers la casa lui și a făcut lucrul [acesta] cunoscut lui Hanania, Mișael și Azaria, tovarășii lui,
18 and to seek mercies from before the God of the heavens concerning this secret, that they do not destroy Daniel and his companions with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
Ca ei să ceară îndurări de la Dumnezeul cerului referitor la această taină, ca Daniel și tovarășii lui să nu piară cu restul înțelepților Babilonului.
19 Then to Daniel, in a vision of the night, the secret has been revealed. Then Daniel has blessed the God of the heavens.
Atunci taina i-a fost revelată lui Daniel într-o viziune de noapte. Apoi Daniel a binecuvântat pe Dumnezeul cerului.
20 Daniel has answered and said, “Let the Name of God be blessed from age even to age, for wisdom and might—for they are His.
Daniel a răspuns și a zis: Binecuvântat fie numele lui Dumnezeu pentru totdeauna și întotdeauna, căci înțelepciunea și tăria sunt ale lui;
21 And He is changing times and seasons, He is causing kings to pass away, and He is raising up kings; He is giving wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to those possessing understanding.
Și schimbă timpurile și anotimpurile; îndepărtează împărați și ridică împărați; dă înțelepciune înțelepților și cunoaștere celor ce cunosc înțelegerea;
22 He is revealing deep and hidden things; He has known what [is] in darkness, and light has dwelt with Him.
Revelează lucrurile adânci și tainice; cunoaște ce [este] în întuneric și lumina locuiește cu el.
23 You, O God of my fathers, I am thanking and praising, for wisdom and might You have given to me; and now, You have caused me to know that which we have sought from You, for the king’s matter You have caused us to know.”
Îți mulțumesc și te laud, Dumnezeul părinților mei, care mi-ai dat înțelepciune și tărie și mi-ai făcut cunoscut acum ceea ce noi am cerut de la tine, căci ne-ai făcut cunoscut acest lucru al împăratului.
24 Therefore Daniel has gone up to Arioch, whom the king has appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon; he has gone, and thus has said to him, “You do not destroy the wise men of Babylon, bring me up before the king, and I show the interpretation to the king.”
De aceea Daniel a intrat la Arioc, căruia împăratul i-a ordonat să nimicească pe înțelepții Babilonului; a mers și i-a spus astfel: Nu nimici pe înțelepții Babilonului, du-mă înaintea împăratului și voi arăta împăratului interpretarea.
25 Then Arioch in haste has brought up Daniel before the king, and thus has said to him, “I have found a man of the sons of the expulsion of Judah, who makes known the interpretation to the king.”
Atunci Arioc l-a dus în grabă pe Daniel înaintea împăratului și i-a spus astfel: Eu am găsit un om dintre captivii din Iuda, care va face cunoscut împăratului interpretarea.
26 The king has answered and said to Daniel, whose name [is] Belteshazzar, “Are you able to cause me to know the dream that I have seen, and its interpretation?”
Împăratul a răspuns și i-a zis lui Daniel, al cărui nume [era] Belteșațar: Ești în stare să îmi faci cunoscut visul pe care l-am văzut și interpretarea lui?
27 Daniel has answered before the king and said, “The secret that the king is asking, the wise men, the enchanters, the scribes, the soothsayers, are not able to show to the king;
Daniel a răspuns în prezența împăratului și a zis: Taina pe care împăratul a cerut-o, nu pot înțelepții, astrologii, magii, ghicitorii să o arate împăratului;
28 but there is a God in the heavens, a revealer of secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar that which [is] to be in the latter end of the days. Your dream and the visions of your head on your bed are these:
Dar este un Dumnezeu în cer care revelează taine și face cunoscut împăratului Nebucadnețar ce va fi în zilele de pe urmă. Visul tău și viziunile capului tău pe patul tău, sunt acestea:
29 You, O king, your thoughts on your bed have come up [concerning] that which [is] to be after this, and the Revealer of secrets has caused you to know that which [is] to be.
Cât despre tine, împărate, gândurile tale [ți]-au venit pe patul tău, ceea ce se va întâmpla de acum înainte; și cel ce revelează taine îți face cunoscut ce se va întâmpla.
30 As for me—not for [any] wisdom that is in me above any living has this secret been revealed to me; but for the intent that the interpretation to the king they make known, and the thoughts of your heart you know.
Dar cât despre mine, această taină nu îmi este revelată datorită [vreunei] înțelepciuni pe care o am mai mult decât vreo [altă] ființă, ci de dragul [lor] să fie făcută cunoscută împăratului interpretarea și să cunoști gândurile inimii tale.
31 You, O king, were looking, and behold, a certain great image. This image [is] mighty, and its brightness excellent; it is standing before you, and its appearance [is] terrible.
Tu împărate, ai văzut și iată, un mare chip. Acest chip mare, a cărui strălucire [era] măreață, a stat în picioare înaintea ta; și forma lui [era] înfricoșătoare.
32 This image! Its head [is] of fine gold, its breasts and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of bronze;
Capul acestui chip [era] din aur pur, pieptul și brațele lui din argint, pântecele și coapsele lui din aramă,
33 its legs of iron, its feet, part of them of iron, and part of them of clay.
Picioarele lui din fier, laba piciorului parte din fier și parte din lut.
34 You were looking until a stone has been cut out without hands, and it has struck the image on its feet, that [are] of iron and of clay, and it has broken them small;
Tu ai privit până când o piatră tăiată, fără mâini, a lovit chipul peste picioarele lui [care erau] din fier și lut și le-a spart în bucăți.
35 then broken small together have been the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold, and they have been as chaff from the summer threshing-floor, and the wind has carried them away, and no place has been found for them: and the stone that struck the image has become a great mountain, and has filled all the land.
Atunci fierul, lutul, arama, argintul și aurul, au fost sparte în bucăți, [toate] împreună, și au devenit ca pleava ariilor vara; și vântul le-a dus departe, încât nu s-a găsit loc pentru ele; și piatra care a lovit chipul a devenit un munte mare și a umplut întregul pământ.
36 This [is] the dream, and its interpretation we tell before the king.
Acesta [este] visul; și vom spune interpretarea acestuia înaintea împăratului.
37 You, O king, are a king of kings, for the God of the heavens a kingdom, strength, and might, and glory, has given to you;
Tu împărate, [ești] un împărat al împăraților, fiindcă Dumnezeul cerului ți-a dat o împărăție, putere și tărie și glorie.
38 and wherever sons of men are dwelling, the beast of the field, and the bird of the heavens, He has given into your hand, and has caused you to rule over them all; you [are] this head of gold.
Și oriunde locuiesc copiii oamenilor, fiarele câmpului și păsările cerului le-a dat în mâna ta și te-a făcut conducător peste toate acestea. Tu [ești] acest cap din aur.
39 And after you another kingdom arises lower than those, and another third kingdom of bronze, that rules over all the earth.
Și după tine se va ridica o altă împărăție inferioară ție și o a treia împărăție de aramă, care va stăpâni peste tot pământul.
40 And the fourth kingdom is strong as iron, because that iron is breaking small, and making feeble, all [things], even as iron that is breaking all these, it beats small and breaks.
Și a patra împărăție va fi tare ca fierul, întrucât fierul sparge în bucăți și supune toate; și ca fierul ce sparge toate acestea, [astfel] va sparge în bucăți și va zdrobi.
41 As for that which you have seen: the feet and toes, part of them potter’s clay, and part of them iron, the kingdom is divided: and some of the standing of the iron [is] to be in it, because that you have seen the iron mixed with miry clay.
Și după cum ai văzut picioarele și degetele de la picioare, o parte din lutul olarului și o parte din fier, împărăția va fi împărțită; dar va fi [încă] în ea [ceva] din tăria fierului, întrucât ai văzut fierul amestecat cu lut noroios.
42 As for the toes of the feet, part of them iron, and part of them clay: some part of the kingdom is strong, and some part of it is brittle.
Și [după cum] degetele de la picioare [erau] parte din fier și parte din lut, [tot astfel] împărăția va fi în parte tare și [va fi] în parte spartă.
43 Because you have seen iron mixed with miry clay, they are mixing themselves with the seed of men: and they are not adhering with one another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
Și precum ai văzut fier amestecat cu lut noroios, ei se vor amesteca cu sămânța oamenilor; dar nu se vor lipi unul de celălalt, după cum fier nu se amestecă cu lut.
44 And in the days of these kings the God of the heavens raises up a kingdom that is not destroyed for all time, and its kingdom is not left to another people: it beats small and ends all these kingdoms, and it stands for all time.
Și în zilele acestor împărați, Dumnezeul cerului va ridica o împărăție, care nu va fi niciodată distrusă; și împărăția nu va fi lăsată altui popor, [ci] va sparge în bucăți și va mistui toate aceste împărății și va sta în picioare pentru totdeauna.
45 Because that you have seen that out of the mountain a stone has been cut without hands, and it has beaten the iron small, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God has made known to the king that which [is] to be after this; and the dream [is] true, and its interpretation steadfast.”
După cum ai văzut că piatra a fost tăiată, fără mâini, din munte și că a spart în bucăți fierul, arama, lutul, argintul și aurul; marele Dumnezeu a făcut cunoscut împăratului ce se va întâmpla de acum înainte; și visul [este] cert și interpretarea lui sigură.
46 Then King Nebuchadnezzar has fallen on his face, and to Daniel he has done homage, and present, and sweet things, he has said to pour out to him.
Atunci împăratul Nebucadnețar a căzut cu fața [la pământ] și s-a închinat lui Daniel și a poruncit ca ei să îi aducă un dar de mâncare și arome dulci.
47 The king has answered Daniel and said, “Of a truth [it is] that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you have been able to reveal this secret.”
Împăratul i-a răspuns lui Daniel și a zis: Cu adevărat Dumnezeul vostru [este] un Dumnezeu al dumnezeilor și un Domn al împăraților și un descoperitor al tainelor, văzând că poți revela această taină.
48 Then the king has made Daniel great, and many great gifts he has given to him, and has caused him to rule over all the province of Babylon, and chief of the prefects over all the wise men of Babylon.
Atunci împăratul l-a făcut pe Daniel un om mare și i-a dat multe daruri mărețe și l-a făcut conducător peste întreaga provincie a Babilonului și mai marele guvernatorilor peste toți înțelepții Babilonului.
49 And Daniel has sought from the king, and he has appointed over the work of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, and Daniel [is] in the gate of the king.
Atunci Daniel a cerut de la împărat și a pus pe Șadrac, Meșac și Abednego, peste treburile provinciei Babilonului; iar Daniel [a șezut] la poarta împăratului.
