< Amos 5 >
1 Hear this word that I am bearing to you, A lamentation, O house of Israel:
Nụrụnụ okwu ndị a, nke a ka m na-ekwu megide unu, ọ bụ mkpu akwa maka gị ezinaụlọ nke Izrel:
2 “Fallen, not to rise again, has the virgin of Israel, Left on her land—she has none [to] raise [her] up.”
“Izrel, nwaagbọghọ na-amaghị nwoke, a daala, ọ gaghị ebilite ọzọ, onye a gbahapụrụ nʼala nke aka ya, ọ dịkwaghị onye ga-ekulite ya.”
3 For thus said Lord YHWH: “The city that is going out one thousand, Leaves one hundred, And that which is going out one hundred, Leaves ten to the house of Israel.”
Otu a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị na-asị Izrel, “Obodo unu nke na-ezipụ puku ndị ike, ka naanị narị ga-afọdụ, obodo unu na-ezipụ narị ndị ike ka naanị iri ga-afọdụrụ.”
4 For thus said YHWH to the house of Israel: “Seek Me, and live,
Ihe ndị a bụ okwu Onyenwe anyị na-agwa ụlọ Izrel, “Chọọnụ m, ka unu dịrị ndụ.
5 And do not seek Beth-El, and do not enter Gilgal, And do not pass through Beer-Sheba, For Gilgal utterly removes, And Beth-El becomes vanity.
Unu achọla Betel, unu abanyekwala na Gilgal, maọbụ ga ije ruo Bịasheba. Nʼihi na Gilgal aghaghị ije biri nʼala ọzọ, ebe Betel ga-aghọ ebe tọgbọrọ nʼefu.”
6 Seek YHWH, and live, Lest He prosper as fire [against] the house of Joseph, And it has consumed, And there is no quencher for Beth-El—
Chọọnụ Onyenwe anyị, ka unu dịrị ndụ, ka ọ gharakwa iji ike bịakwasị ụlọ Josef, dịka ire ọkụ, ọ ga-erepịa ha. Betel agaghị enwe onye ga-emenyụ.
7 You who are turning judgment to wormwood, And have put down righteousness to the earth!”
Unu ndị na-eme ikpe ziri ezi ka ọ ghọọ ihe ilu, na-ekpukwa ezi omume ihu nʼala.
8 The Maker of the Pleiades and Orion, And He who is turning death-shade to the morning—And He has made day [as] dark [as] night—Who is calling to the waters of the sea, And pours them on the face of the earth, YHWH [is] His Name;
Onye mere kpakpando pleiades na orion, onye na-emekwa ka oke ọchịchịrị ghọọ ụtụtụ, na-emekwa ka ụbọchị ghọọ abalị, onye na-akpọ mmiri nke osimiri oku, wụsa ha nʼelu ala akọrọ, Onyenwe anyị bụ aha ya.
9 Who is brightening up the spoiled against the strong, And the spoiled comes against a fortress.
Onye na-eme ka ịla nʼiyi bịakwasị ndị dị ike nʼotu ntabi anya, na-emekwa ka ịla nʼiyi bịakwasị ebe ahụ niile e wusiri ike.
10 They have hated a reprover in the gate, And they detest a plain speaker.
Ọ dị ndị na-akpọ onye na-edebe ikpe ziri ezi nʼụlọikpe asị, na-elelịkwa onye na-ekwu eziokwu anya.
11 Therefore, because of your trampling on the poor, And the tribute of grain you take from him, Houses of hewn work you have built, And you do not dwell in them, Desirable vineyards you have planted, And you do not drink their wine.
Unu na-azọpịa ndị ogbenye, na-anapụ ha ukwu ọka wiiti ha. Unu ewuolara onwe unu ụlọ nkume a wara awa, ma unu agaghị ebi nʼime ha. Unu akụọla ubi vaịnị mara mma, ma unu agaghị aṅụ ihe ọṅụṅụ ọbụla sitere nʼime ha.
12 For I have known—many [are] your transgressions, And mighty your sins, Adversaries of the righteous, taking ransoms, And you turned aside the needy in the gate.
13 Therefore the wise is silent at that time, For it [is] an evil time.
Nʼihi ya, onye nwere uche na-ekpuchi ọnụ ya nʼoge ahụ, nʼihi na oge ndị ahụ dị njọ.
14 Seek good, and not evil, that you may live, and it is so; YHWH, God of Hosts, [is] with you, as you said.
Chọsienụ ezi ihe ike, ọ bụghị ihe ọjọọ; ka unu dịrị ndụ. Mgbe ahụ ka Onyenwe anyị Chineke, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile ga-anọnyere unu, dịka unu si kwuo.
15 Hate evil, and love good, And set up judgment in the gate, It may be YHWH, God of Hosts, pities the remnant of Joseph.
Kpọọnụ ihe ọjọọ asị, ma hụnụ ezi ihe nʼanya. Meenụ ka ikpe ziri ezi guzosie ike nʼụlọikpe unu. O nwere ike bụrụ na Onyenwe anyị Chineke Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile ga-enwe amara nʼahụ ndị fọdụụrụ Josef.
16 Therefore, thus said YHWH, God of Hosts, the Lord: “Lamentation is in all broad places, And in all out-places they say, Oh! Oh! And called the farmer to mourning, And the skillful of wailing to lamentation.
Nʼihi ya, nke a ka Onyenwe anyị, Chineke Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, bụ Onyenwe anyị na-asị, “Oke iti mkpu akwa aghaghị ịdị nʼokporoụzọ niile; ọ bụkwa nʼama niile ka ha ga-asị, azịgbakwa, azịgbakwa. A ga-akpọ ndị ọrụ ubi ka ha bịa kwaa akwa, kpọọkwa ndị na-eru ụjụ ka ha bịa tie mkpu akwa.
17 And in all vineyards [is] lamentation, For I pass into your midst,” said YHWH.
A ga-enwe iti mkpu akwa nʼime ubi vaịnị niile, nʼihi na aga m esi nʼetiti unu gafee,” ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru.
18 Behold, you who are desiring the Day of YHWH, Why [is] this to you—the Day of YHWH? It is darkness, and not light,
Ahụhụ dịrị unu, ndị ahụ na-achọsi ụbọchị Onyenwe anyị ike. Gịnị mere unu ji achọ ụbọchị nke Onyenwe anyị ahụ? Ụbọchị ahụ ga-abụ ọchịchịrị, ọ bụghị ìhè.
19 As [when] one flees from the face of the lion, And the bear has met him, And he has come into the house, And has leaned his hand on the wall, And the serpent has bitten him.
Ọ ga-adị ka onye si nʼihu ọdụm na-agbapụ ma zute anụ ọhịa bịa, maọbụ onye gbabara nʼụlọ ya izuike ma tụkwasị aka ya nʼaja ụlọ, agwọ ataa ya.
20 Is not the Day of YHWH darkness and not light, Even thick darkness that has no brightness?
Ụbọchị Onyenwe anyị ọ gaghị abụ ụbọchị ọchịchịrị, na-abụghị ìhè, nke oke ọchịchịrị, a na-agaghị enwe ìhè ọbụla na ya?
21 “I have hated—I have loathed your festivals, And I am not refreshed by your restraints.
“Akpọrọ m mmemme oriri na ọṅụṅụ unu asị, ajụla m ya. Nnọkọ nke oke nzukọ unu adịghị atọkwa m ụtọ.
22 For though you cause burnt-offerings and your presents to ascend to Me, I am not pleased, And I do not behold the peace-offering of your fatlings.
A sịkwarị na unu bunyere m aja nsure ọkụ unu na aja mkpụrụ ọka unu, agaghị m anabata ha. Aja udo nke anụ unu gbara abụba abụrụghị m ihe ọbụla.
23 Turn the noise of your songs aside from Me, Indeed, I do not hear the praise of your stringed instruments.
Sitenụ nʼebe m nọ wezuga ụzụ ịbụ abụ unu. Agaghị m ege ntị nʼabụ ụbọ akwara unu.
24 And judgment rolls on as waters, And righteousness as a perennial stream.
Kama meenụ ka ikpe ziri ezi na-asọgharị dịka mmiri, ka ezi omume na-asọgharịbiga oke dịka iyi nke na-adịghị ata ata.
25 Did you bring sacrifices and offerings near to Me, In a wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
“Iri afọ anọ ndị ahụ unu nọ nʼọzara, unu chụụrụ m aja, unu o wetara m onyinye, unu ụlọ Izrel?
26 And you bore Succoth your king, and Chiun your images, The star of your god, that you made for yourselves.
Unu ga-ebuli eze unu Sakut elu, na arụsị Kayiwan, chi kpakpando unu, bụ onyinyo unu, na chi niile a kpụrụ akpụ, nke unu kpụrụ nye onwe unu.
27 And I removed you beyond Damascus,” said YHWH—God of Hosts [is] His Name.
Ya mere, aghaghị m ime ka e buru unu gaa nʼala ndị ọzọ, nʼofe Damaskọs,” ka Onyenwe anyị, Onye ahụ aha ya bụ Chineke, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile kwuru.
