Amos 5
1 Hear this word that I am bearing to you, A lamentation, O house of Israel:
১হে ইস্রায়েলের কুল, এই কথা শোন যা আমি তোমাদের উপরে বিলাপ করার জন্য নিয়েছি।
2 “Fallen, not to rise again, has the virgin of Israel, Left on her land—she has none [to] raise [her] up.”
২কুমারী ইস্রায়েল পরে গেছে; সে আর উঠবে না; সে তার নিজের জমিতে পরিত্যক্ত; সেখানে কেউ নেই তাকে ওঠানোর।
3 For thus said Lord YHWH: “The city that is going out one thousand, Leaves one hundred, And that which is going out one hundred, Leaves ten to the house of Israel.”
৩এই কারণের জন্য প্রভু সদাপ্রভু বলেন, “সেই শহরের লোকেরা যারা হাজার হাজার হয়ে বেরিয়ে যায় সেখানে একশোজন বাকি থাকবে এবং যারা একশোজন করে বেরোবে সেখানে দশ জন থাকবে ইস্রায়েল কুলের হয়ে।”
4 For thus said YHWH to the house of Israel: “Seek Me, and live,
৪এই জন্য সদাপ্রভু ইস্রায়েল কুলকে বললেন, “আমায় খোঁজ এবং তাতে বাঁচবে।
5 And do not seek Beth-El, and do not enter Gilgal, And do not pass through Beer-Sheba, For Gilgal utterly removes, And Beth-El becomes vanity.
৫বৈথেলে খুঁজো না; গিলগলে প্রবেশ করো না; বের-শেবাতে যেও না। গিলগল অবশ্যই বন্দী হয়ে অন্য দেশে যাবে এবং বৈথেলের শোক হবে।
6 Seek YHWH, and live, Lest He prosper as fire [against] the house of Joseph, And it has consumed, And there is no quencher for Beth-El—
৬সদাপ্রভুকে খোঁজ এবং বাঁচো, না হলে তিনি যোষেফের কুলে আগুন হয়ে আসবেন। তা গ্রাস করবেন আর বৈথেলে আগুন নেভানোর কেউ থাকবে না।
7 You who are turning judgment to wormwood, And have put down righteousness to the earth!”
৭যেসব লোকেরা ন্যায়বিচারকে তিক্ততায় পরিণত করেছ এবং ধার্মিকতাকে মাটিতে ছুঁড়ে ফেলেছ!”
8 The Maker of the Pleiades and Orion, And He who is turning death-shade to the morning—And He has made day [as] dark [as] night—Who is calling to the waters of the sea, And pours them on the face of the earth, YHWH [is] His Name;
৮ঈশ্বর কালপুরুষ এবং সপ্তর্ষিমণ্ডল বানিয়েছেন; তিনি অন্ধকারকে সকালে পরিণত করেছেন; তিনি দিন কে গভীর রাতে পরিণত করেছেনে এবং সমুদ্রের জলরাশিকে ডাকেন; তিনি তাদের স্থলভাগে ঢেলে দিয়েছেন। সদাপ্রভু তাঁর নাম।
9 Who is brightening up the spoiled against the strong, And the spoiled comes against a fortress.
৯তিনি শক্তিশালীর উপর হঠাৎ সর্বনাশ নিয়ে আসবেন, তাতে ঐ সর্বনাশ দুর্গের উপরে আসবে।
10 They have hated a reprover in the gate, And they detest a plain speaker.
১০যারা শহরের দরজায় তাদের সংশোধন করে তাদের প্রত্যেককে তারা ঘৃণা করে এবং যারা সত্য কথা বলে তাদের প্রত্যেককে তারা গভীর ঘৃণার চোখে দেখে।
11 Therefore, because of your trampling on the poor, And the tribute of grain you take from him, Houses of hewn work you have built, And you do not dwell in them, Desirable vineyards you have planted, And you do not drink their wine.
১১কারণ তোমরা দরিদ্রকে পায়ের তলায় মাড়াচ্ছ এবং তার কাছ থেকে গমের ভাগ নাও, যদিও তোমরা পাথরের বাড়ি বানিয়েছো, তোমরা তাতে বাস করতে পারবে না। তোমাদের সুন্দর আঙ্গুর খেত আছে কিন্তু তোমরা তাদের রস খেতে পারবে না।
12 For I have known—many [are] your transgressions, And mighty your sins, Adversaries of the righteous, taking ransoms, And you turned aside the needy in the gate.
১২আমি জানি তোমার কত অন্যায় আছে এবং তোমাদের পাপ কত ভীষণ, তোমরা যারা ধার্ম্মিকদের অত্যাচার কর ও ঘুষ নাও এবং গরিবদের শহরের দরজায় অবহেলা করেছো।
13 Therefore the wise is silent at that time, For it [is] an evil time.
১৩এই জন্য যে কোন বিচক্ষণ লোক এই দিন চুপ করে থাকে, কারণ এটা মন্দ দিন।
14 Seek good, and not evil, that you may live, and it is so; YHWH, God of Hosts, [is] with you, as you said.
১৪ভালো চেষ্টা কর, মন্দ নয়, তাহলে তোমরা বাঁচবে। তাতে সদাপ্রভু, বাহিনীগণের ঈশ্বর সত্যি তোমাদের সঙ্গে থাকবেন, যেমন তোমরা বলে থাক তিনি তেমনিই।
15 Hate evil, and love good, And set up judgment in the gate, It may be YHWH, God of Hosts, pities the remnant of Joseph.
১৫মন্দ ঘৃণা কর, উত্তম ভালবাস, শহরের দরজায় ধার্ম্মিকতা প্রতিষ্ঠা কর। হয়ত সদাপ্রভু, বাহিনীগণের ঈশ্বর যোষেফের কুলের বাকিদের প্রতি অনুগ্রহ করবেন।
16 Therefore, thus said YHWH, God of Hosts, the Lord: “Lamentation is in all broad places, And in all out-places they say, Oh! Oh! And called the farmer to mourning, And the skillful of wailing to lamentation.
১৬এই জন্য, সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, বাহিনীগণের ঈশ্বর, প্রভু বলেন, “সমস্ত রাস্তার মোড়ে কান্নাকাটি হবে এবং তারা সমস্ত রাস্তায় বলবে, ‘হায়’ ‘হায়!’ তারা চাষীদের ডাকবে দুঃখ করার জন্য এবং দুঃখীকে ডাকবে কাঁদার জন্য।
17 And in all vineyards [is] lamentation, For I pass into your midst,” said YHWH.
১৭সমস্ত আঙ্গুর ক্ষেতে কান্নাকাটি হবে, কারণ আমি তোমাদের মধ্যে দিয়ে যাবো,” সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
18 Behold, you who are desiring the Day of YHWH, Why [is] this to you—the Day of YHWH? It is darkness, and not light,
১৮ধিক তোমাদের যারা সদাপ্রভুর দিনের আশা কর! কেন তোমরা সদাপ্রভুর বিচারের দিনের জন্য চেষ্টা কর? এটি অন্ধকার হবে, আলো নয়।
19 As [when] one flees from the face of the lion, And the bear has met him, And he has come into the house, And has leaned his hand on the wall, And the serpent has bitten him.
১৯যেমন একজন মানুষ যখন সিংহের থেকে পালিয়ে যায় আর ভাল্লুকের সামনে পড়ে বা সে একটা ঘরের ভিতরে যায় এবং তার হাত দেওয়ালে রাখে আর তাকে একটা সাপ কামড়ায়।
20 Is not the Day of YHWH darkness and not light, Even thick darkness that has no brightness?
২০সদাপ্রভুর দিন কি অন্ধকার এবং আলোহীন হবে না? ঘোর অন্ধকার এবং দীপ্তি হীন কি হবে না?
21 “I have hated—I have loathed your festivals, And I am not refreshed by your restraints.
২১“আমি ঘৃণা করি, আমি তোমাদের উৎসব অবজ্ঞা করি, আমি খুশি হই না তোমাদের জাঁকজমকপূর্ণ সমাবেশে।
22 For though you cause burnt-offerings and your presents to ascend to Me, I am not pleased, And I do not behold the peace-offering of your fatlings.
২২যদিও তোমরা আমায় তোমাদের হোমবলি এবং শস্য উত্সর্গ কর, আমি তা গ্রহণ করব না, না আমি তোমাদের স্বাস্থ্যবান পশু বলিদানের দিকে দেখবো।
23 Turn the noise of your songs aside from Me, Indeed, I do not hear the praise of your stringed instruments.
২৩আমার কাছ থেকে তোমাদের গানের শব্দ দূর কর; আমি তোমাদের বীণার আওয়াজ শুনবো না।
24 And judgment rolls on as waters, And righteousness as a perennial stream.
২৪তার পরিবর্তে, বিচার জলের মত বয়ে যাক এবং ধার্ম্মিকতা চিরকাল বয়ে যাওয়া স্রোতের মত বয়ে যাক।
25 Did you bring sacrifices and offerings near to Me, In a wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
২৫তোমরা কি মরুপ্রান্তে চল্লিশ বছর পর্যন্ত আমার জন্য বলিদান ও উপহার নিয়ে এসেছিলে?
26 And you bore Succoth your king, and Chiun your images, The star of your god, that you made for yourselves.
২৬তোমরা সিক্কূৎকে তোমাদের রাজা হিসাবে তুলে ধরেছিলে এবং কীয়ুন, তোমাদের দেবতার তারা প্রতিমার মূর্ত্তি যা তোমরা তোমাদের জন্য বানিয়েছিলে।
27 And I removed you beyond Damascus,” said YHWH—God of Hosts [is] His Name.
২৭এই জন্য আমি তোমাদের দম্মেশক থেকেও দূরে বন্দী হিসাবে পাঠাবো,” সদাপ্রভু বলেন, যাঁর নাম হল বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু।
